When I wrote the three words "End of full text" just now, I stared at the screen for a long time, then opened the window to tell my friend.
I finished it, 1.3 million words, I actually finished it.
I really want to thank every reader who can read here. It is your every comment and every urging for updates that supports me in writing one story after another. Without you, there would be no such book.
Today's thoughts are whatever I want to say, just like chatting with friends~
When it comes to writing, I am considered a novice, but not completely.
I tried writing when I was in high school and finished a book of ancient Chinese literature with 210,000 words. At that time, I just wrote with my eyes closed. Not many people read it and I didn’t make any profit. I just wrote it for the sake of writing the story in my heart.
I still remember how I felt when I finished it. What does 210,000 words mean? The school only requires 800 words for an essay!
She put her hands on her hips, which was very powerful to me.
At that time, I would never have dreamed that one day, I would be able to finish writing a novel of 1.3 million words.
I was quite anxious at the beginning. I would feel emo after reading the negative reviews and wanted to give up and finish it early. But when I saw many praises written by readers, I felt motivated again.
As a mother, no one wants to write the complete stories of Lanlan, Youyou, Qingyan and other characters more than me. So I changed my mindset later, I didn't even read the scolding, I pretended that the whole world praised me, and wrote happily!
Just kidding. It's not that I won't read it at all. I'll just... take a quick glance. If it makes sense, I'll listen to opinions. If it doesn't make sense, for example, if it reads the beginning and says that I am a member of the Divine Religion, I'll just glance at it!
Let's talk about the plot.
The original plan was for the protagonists to occupy all the ministers, but when I was halfway through writing, I had a magical feeling - the characters really walked their own paths, and I was just recording their stories.
So Xu Shiming became the imperial teacher, and Liang Zhou became the Marquis of Yingcang.
Of course, Princess Lu could have chosen not to sacrifice herself. She could have survived, bearing the blame for her father's crimes and being dragged into the court struggle. She could have also faked her death and escaped, living out the rest of her life in anonymity... but that should not have been her path.
She should always be the most dazzling red dress on the battlefield, so this ending is the best I can give her.
Then, those who have read the whole book should be able to feel that the style of the book before and after is quite different, both in terms of writing style and plot.
On the one hand, of course, I made progress as I wrote, but on the other hand… Actually, at the beginning, the book was positioned as a story about the imperial examinations and farming, and it was light-hearted and funny. Until I realized that I was not very good at this direction, and it was quite painful to write.
People say that novices should not get involved in political schemes, but I want to give it a try.
Since it’s my first time, I didn’t expect to write any grand epic political intrigue, so I didn’t set high standards for myself - just have logic and the villain isn’t stupid.
So I changed the outline, and the original story of the protagonists achieving fame through farming and inventions was cut down to some court struggles. At that time, the idea of a real and fake prince popped into my mind, and I thought it was fun, so I did it. I didn't expect the response was quite good, which boosted my confidence.
The character of Lan Fei does not appear in the book, and her full name only appears once. Most people probably can’t remember it now.
But she is actually a character I like very much. Some readers guess that she is a time traveler, but I hope she is not.
