Chapter 173 Annan breaks off the relationship

Jiang Wanwan nodded in agreement, and then asked about Mingze and Bai Luo.

"Have those two been up to anything lately?"

Yan Ziyan laughed and said, "The two of them are busy talking about love. One of them follows Li Xue to learn musical instruments every day, and the other wishes he could be Annam's protector 24 hours a day! Just now, he even came to me and said that he wanted to join the Xiaoyao Sect and become a guest elder of our sect!"

Jiang Wanwan raised an eyebrow slightly and chuckled, "They're quite enthusiastic. But becoming a guest elder isn't something anyone can do easily; we'll have to see if they have real skills."

Yan Ziyan crossed his arms and said, "That's what I told them too. Let them show their abilities first, instead of just relying on their words."

The next day, at the Kyoto Garden Villa.

An Nan brought Bai Luo to the An family home. As soon as they entered, the housekeeper warmly welcomed An Nan into the living room.

"Miss, please wait a moment! I'll call Mr. An. He'll be so happy to know you're back!" The aunt's face was full of smiles, and her eyes were brimming with joy.

"Alright! Aunt Zhang, tell him I'll wait for him for half an hour!" An Nan sat elegantly on the sofa, crossed his legs, and looked slightly indifferent.

Bai Luo stood straight to the side, looking like a bodyguard, surveying the luxurious living room.

"A Luo, come and sit down!" Annan patted the seat next to him and beckoned to Bai Luo.

Bai Luo, her ears turning red, sat down and asked, "Have you thought it through?"

Annan nodded and said, "I have to resolve my grudges with the An family. Otherwise, given their way of doing things, they'll be causing trouble at the Xiaoyao Sect every few days, which will affect my cultivation."

Bai Luo frowned, took An Nan's hand, and said earnestly, "Don't be afraid, I will always be by your side to support you."

Annan smiled slightly, a hint of determination flashing in his eyes: "Yes, with you here, I have nothing to be afraid of."

Not long after, Mr. Bai returned with his family of three, looking travel-worn.

"Nan Nan, you're back! That's wonderful!" Yang Shuhui exclaimed excitedly, her eyes filled with joy.

Yang Shuhui, Annan's biological mother, was wearing a dark blue cheongsam, with exquisite makeup and her curly hair elegantly draped over her shoulders.

After looking Anan up and down in the living room, she turned her gaze to Bai Luo beside her.

"What is this?" Yang Shuhui raised her eyebrows slightly, a hint of doubt in her eyes.

"Who he is is not important! I came back this time to ask you and Old Man Bai, between Anshan and me, who do you choose?" An Nan straightened his back, his gaze firm and sharp as he stared at the three people in front of him.

Mr. Bai was somewhat displeased with how Annan addressed him, but he didn't show it on his face, since he still needed her help.

"Nannan, you and Xiaoshan are both the apple of your parents' eyes. Aren't you making things difficult for your mother and me?" Mr. Bai pretended to be troubled, his brows furrowed.

"Mom and Dad, since my sister doesn't like me staying in this house, I'd better leave!" Anshan suddenly said, his head lowered, looking pitiful, with a hint of grievance in his voice.

“Son, don’t worry! Your sister is reasonable and won’t let you leave!” Yang Shuhui quickly interrupted Anshan. She walked quickly to Anshan’s side, held his hand tightly, and her eyes were full of heartache and comfort.

"What a touching display of fatherly love and filial piety! Unfortunately, I'm here today to give you a choice: choose him or choose me!"

Annan sneered, his eyes filled with mockery and determination. He stood there with his arms crossed, his posture ramrod straight, as if awaiting a trial.

"Sister, why are you making things difficult for Mom and Dad! I'm leaving!" Anshan shouted angrily, his eyes wide and his face full of rage.

"Shut up! Alo, be silent!" Annan shouted sternly, his expression cold.

Bai Luo then waved his hand, and An Shan was instantly silenced. His mouth opened and closed, but he couldn't say a word, and he was so anxious that his face turned red.

Yang Shuhui noticed An Shan's unusual behavior and rushed forward to check on him. At the same time, she yelled angrily at An Nan, "I knew you were a wicked girl who wasn't raised by my side. What did you do to your brother?"

Her face contorted with rage, and her voice was shrill.

"Ha! Don't worry! Your precious son is fine! He's just being quiet for a while!" Annan sneered, his smile full of contempt and disdain, his eyes full of mockery.

Meanwhile, Bai's father, who was watching silently from the side, had eyes full of longing and yearning for great power, but unfortunately he was born without spiritual roots.

However, he still harbored a thought: didn't he have a daughter who was cultivating in the Free and Unfettered Sect?

"Tell me! Do you want your precious son or this wicked girl like me?" Anan stared at them coldly, her voice devoid of any warmth.

After hesitating for a while, Mr. Bai finally looked troubled and said helplessly, "Nan Nan, is there really no third option?"

His face was filled with conflict and helplessness.

“Yes! That means I’m severing ties with you!” Annan replied without hesitation and with unwavering resolve.

"Break! Break!" Yang Shuhui shouted without hesitation, tightly protecting Anshan with both hands. She looked as if Annan was a vicious demon, her eyes filled with hostility and defensiveness.

"No!"

Mr. Bai suddenly stood up, looking flustered. He quickly interrupted Yang Shuhui, veins bulging on his forehead, and said anxiously, "Nannan, don't worry, we won't neglect you like before. You will always be a part of this family."

His cloudy eyes were filled with urgency, his hands were rubbing together incessantly, and his voice carried a hint of pleading: "Nannan, Dad knows that I neglected you in the past and made you suffer a lot, but that's all in the past. Dad promises you that I will take good care of you from now on and make up for the love you missed before."

He then added, "As for Xiaoshan, he's been raised by us since he was little, he's well-behaved and obedient. Could you please be more tolerant of him? After all, he's your younger brother too. You're both Dad's children, and Dad really doesn't want to see either of you get hurt."

Bai's father's voice grew softer and softer, tinged with a cautious probing. He lowered his head, not daring to look Annan directly in the eye, as if afraid to see the resolute look in his daughter's eyes.

"No! Old man Bai, we know exactly what kind of person you are. Don't pretend to be a loving father!" An Nan said resolutely, his delicate face now as cold as ice, his eyes full of mockery.

"Enough!" Yang Shuhui said sharply, "Old Bai, why are you saying so much to her? If she can produce three Talent Fruits, then we'll sever ties."

Yang Shuhui put her hands on her hips, her brightly painted lips moving rapidly, and some of the makeup on her face came off due to her excitement.

Her once exquisite makeup now appeared somewhat ferocious, her eyes revealing greed and ruthlessness, as if Annan was not her relative, but an object to be traded at will.
