Chapter 31 Old Friends

After saying goodbye to her parents, Jiang Wanwan went to Kyoto with Lin Weiguo.

For this trip, Jiang Wanwan did not use the travel talisman, but instead hitched a ride with Lin Weiguo, speeding through the air. In less than half an hour, they arrived in Kyoto.

In an abandoned courtyard on the outskirts of Kyoto, overgrown weeds grew taller than a person. Before long, the two successfully found the dry well.

Jiang Wanwan carefully pulled the person out of the dry well and found that he had a broken rib, a gunshot wound in his abdomen, his whole body was covered in bruises, and his face was covered in mud. He was in very bad condition.

After Jiang Wanwan cast a cleansing spell on the unconscious man, she carefully observed him.

This man had sword-like eyebrows, narrow eyes, a high nose bridge, tightly closed lips, and a face as pale as paper, devoid of any color, as if he had lost all vitality.

His skin was fair and delicate, as smooth as mutton fat jade, yet it had a sickly pallor that evoked pity in people.

A sense of surprise and confusion welled up in Jiang Wanwan's heart—it turned out that this person was the kind person who had taken her back to the hotel after she got drunk half a year ago!

Jiang Wanwan took out a crumpled hotel paper from her spatial storage. The name on the paper was Yan Ziyan. Yes, that's the name!

She couldn't help but recall her drunken behavior and awkwardly scratched her toes. But then again, this man named Yan Ziyan really did seem to have a connection with her.

Jiang Wanwan took out a Qi-Nourishing Pill and put it into Yan Ziyan's mouth, then gently poured in a few mouthfuls of spiritual spring water containing rich spiritual energy.

The water of the spiritual spring contains the purest life force in the world, which can nourish the body and heal injuries.

"Xiao Wan, thank you so much! Actually, this man's grandfather once saved my life, and his family has been incredibly kind to me. It's a pity that his grandfather has passed away, and now only he, his grandson, remains in this world." Lin Weiguo's tone was full of emotion and gratitude.

As Jiang Wanwan watched Yan Ziyan's complexion gradually regain its rosy hue, her previously tense expression slowly relaxed: "Haha, so that's how it is... But it's quite a coincidence, he and I have some history. He helped me once before, and I didn't expect to run into him again. I hope he gets better soon!"

In a short while, Yan Ziyan slowly opened his eyes, looking at the beautiful girl in front of him with a somewhat confused expression.

"You're awake?" Jiang Wanwan waved her hand in front of his eyes and asked softly.

"You are..." Yan Ziyan stared into her beautiful peach blossom eyes, a strange sense of familiarity welling up in his heart, but for a moment he could not remember where he had seen her before.

Jiang Wanwan coughed awkwardly and waved the crumpled hotel paper in her hand in front of Yan Ziyan a few times.

"So it's you, the little girl from the garden!" Yan Ziyan saw the familiar handwriting on the paper and couldn't help but recall the experience of taking a little girl to the hotel half a year ago.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Wanwan smiled politely, secretly thinking to herself, "God's Garden Girl!"

"So, how are you feeling now? Do you need me to take you home, or would it be better to go to the hospital to get checked out?" Jiang Wanwan asked with concern, a hint of worry in her eyes.

Yan Ziyan cautiously observed his surroundings, his heart filled with worry. He knew that showing himself in his current state would inevitably attract the pursuit of his family members, and might even implicate others.

"Why are you here? Could it be... that you saved me? And gave me some kind of miracle cure? I feel much better!"

Yan Ziyan stared curiously at the girl in front of him whose temperament had changed drastically, wondering why she had come to such a remote and desolate place.

Jiang Wanwan smiled slightly and replied softly, "I was just doing this for someone."

Her eyes held a hint of mystery, as if concealing a deeper story.

Yan Ziyan's heart skipped a beat, realizing that things were far more complicated than he had imagined. Who exactly was this girl? And why would she accept such a commission? A series of questions flooded his mind, making him intensely interested in her.

At this moment, Yan Ziyan decided to ask the girl for help, sensing from the depths of his heart that this would be a crucial step in turning his fate around...

"Could you take me away from Kyoto? I don't have anywhere to go right now." Yan Ziyan kept his head down, looking pitiful.

Before Jiang Wanwan could speak, Lin Weiguo, who had been standing to the side, couldn't wait to say, "Wanwan, do you think it's convenient for your family to take him in?"

Jiang Wanwan thought for a moment, then nodded in agreement.

Immediately afterwards, she gently waved her arm, and Yan Ziyan immediately collapsed to the ground, losing consciousness.

"Xiao Wan, I'll have to trouble you to carry him, and then I'll take you back with me." Lin Weiguo, with his brightly colored and dazzling hair, spoke softly and obediently, which seemed quite incongruous.

Jiang Wanwan took out a spirit beast pouch from her bosom, put Yan Ziyan inside, and clapped her hands, saying, "Alright, let's go, Brother Lin!"

Lin Weiguo scratched his head and said, "This bag of yours is quite convenient!"

At this moment, Elder Xia, who had been silently observing from within the space, couldn't help but twitch at the corner of his mouth as he watched everything unfold before him.

This bag, originally meant for spirit beasts, has become a habit of being used by his own disciple to carry people.

Just moments ago, he thought Jiang Wanwan had feelings for that Yan Ziyan. After all, that man had a face that everyone hated.
