Chapter 47 The Jiang Family of Kyoto

The Jiang family of Kyoto, a long-standing family of military generals, has always been known for its loyalty and bravery.

Jiang Jun, the leader of a peasant uprising during the modern resistance against foreign invasion, has become a legendary figure in textbooks.

However, Jiang Jun's life was not without its challenges. His wife, Shang Wan, a brave and fearless woman, tragically sacrificed her life in the battle to defend their homeland.

Moreover, his eldest son Jiang Qian and youngest daughter Jiang Mo also fell in the flames of war on the border.

The successive losses of loved ones were too much for Jiang Jun to bear, and he died in despair twenty years ago, leaving behind his youngest son, Jiang Shushu.

Despite the dramatic changes in her family, Jiang Shushu was not defeated.

Instead, he resolutely inherited his father's will, shouldered the heavy responsibility of the family, joined the army, and was determined to serve his country. Under his careful guidance, his two sons, Jiang Shaojie and Jiang Qinian, also embarked on the path of military service.

With his tenacious perseverance and outstanding military talent, Jiang Shaojie quickly distinguished himself in the army and successfully rose to the rank of junior commander of the Wolf Fang Regiment. His future is full of infinite possibilities, and people have high hopes for him.

Jiang Qinian, with her intelligence and unwavering belief, became a top soldier at the National Defense University in Beijing and made outstanding contributions in a recent transnational case.

As a result, the two brothers became the focus of everyone's attention and were hailed as the Jiang family's two outstanding talents.

The Jiang brothers, who originally had a bright future, have recently been suppressed and ostracized by many politicians in Kyoto.

Jiang Shaojie mysteriously disappeared while carrying out a mission to capture spies, and there has been no news of him since; Jiang Qinian is even more unfortunate, as he has been unjustly accused of being a drug lord and is suffering an injustice.

All of this stemmed from the shocking transnational case that had rocked the nation, all because the ruthless drug lord Black Dragon was completely subservient to Jiang Qinian.

Although there is currently no conclusive evidence to prove that Jiang Qinian has a direct connection with drug lords, he has still been severely punished:

Not only was he suspended from his post and placed under investigation, but his freedom of movement was also severely restricted, and he was even unable to leave his home.

At dawn, Yan Ziyan drove to the Jiang family's house. However, when he arrived, he was surprised to find a group of thugs gathered in front of the Jiang family's house.

They gathered noisily, shouting provocative cries.

Yan Ziyan hurriedly got out of the car and shouted angrily, "What are you doing! What are you doing! Don't you have any respect for laws and regulations?"

One of the red-haired youths noticed that Yan Ziyan was alone, so he arrogantly raised his spiked club, pointed it at Yan Ziyan, and shouted, "Kid, I think you'd better mind your own business! Otherwise, you'll regret it!"

However, Yan Ziyan was not intimidated by the threat. In a flash, he moved to the red-haired youth's side and snatched the spiked club with lightning speed.

Then, turning to the crowd at the door, he warned sternly, "I advise you to leave immediately, or you'll suffer the same consequences as this stick!"

Before he finished speaking, Yan Ziyan suddenly exerted force and snapped the spiked club in his hand into two pieces.

The crowd at the door stared in horror at the iron mace broken in two, their bodies trembling uncontrollably.

The red-haired youth, in particular, trembled with fear and stammered, "You...you win!"

He then led the others away in a sorry state.

After Yan Ziyan and the others left, he grimaced and breathed into his palm. He had used too much force, and the spikes of the spiked club had pierced his palm, turning it red.

"Old Yan?" Jiang Qinian was overjoyed to see Yan Ziyan inside the door.

Yan Ziyan quickly put his raised hands behind his back and followed Jiang Qinian into the house.

The Jiang family home is a typical Chinese courtyard house, built entirely of wood using the traditional gable roof and purlin-style architectural structure. The layout of the entire courtyard is very compact, giving it a refined and orderly feel.

The main gate faces east, with a roof covered in gray tiles and wooden doors painted black, giving it a solemn and rustic appearance.

Passing through the brick screen wall, you arrive at a small courtyard. There are only two south-facing rooms in the courtyard used as gatehouses.

Further west, there is a long, narrow courtyard, where the two Jiang brothers' bedrooms are located.

Continuing north, you enter a traditional courtyard house. After passing through the second gate, you'll be greeted by a rare, colorful wooden screen wall. This vibrant screen wall adds a unique artistic atmosphere to the entire courtyard.

Passing the screen wall, three spacious rooms are located in the very center.

The central room was used as a guest room, while the side rooms on the west and east sides became the bedrooms of Jiang Qianqian, the youngest daughter of the Jiang family, and Jiang Shushu and his wife Wang He, respectively. Each room was decorated simply and elegantly, exuding a warm atmosphere.

Guest room.

"What happened? You were all smiles when I last saw you, but how come you've changed so much in just a few days? What's going on with those people outside?" Yan Ziyan looked at Jiang Qinian with a puzzled expression.

Feeling wronged, Jiang Qinian told Yan Ziyan the whole story.

Since Jiang Shushu stepped down from his high position, the Jiang family's situation has become increasingly difficult.

Jiang Shaojie's disappearance was the last straw, giving those who had always harbored ill intentions towards the Jiang family an opportunity to take advantage of the situation.

They began to intensify their attacks on the Jiang family, not only falsely accusing Jiang Qinian of being a drug lord, but also using various insidious means to suppress the Jiang family.

Those people outside were thugs hired by Wang Beichen, that madman from the Wang family, specifically to block the door and cause trouble for the Jiang family.

These people were like glue, clinging tightly to the Jiang family. They stood guard at the door all day, deliberately provoking and causing trouble, trying to lure Jiang Qinian into making a mistake.

As soon as they saw the police, they scattered like birds and beasts; after the police left, they quickly gathered again and continued to hurl insults and provocations.

Faced with this predicament, Jiang Qinian's father went around seeking connections. To avoid further harm, her mother and younger sister sought refuge with relatives.

Yan Ziyan was furious upon hearing this.

"The Wang family is really persistent, always up to their underhanded tricks," Yan Ziyan said, clenching his fists tightly.

Yan Ziyan turned his head and said, "Don't worry, when I came here, my father and your father were discussing countermeasures, so you should be able to leave soon."

Jiang Qinian asked happily, "Uncle Yan, are you feeling better?"

Yan Ziyan nodded and said, "How about we stir things up tonight?"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Qinian excitedly exclaimed, "You mean going to the Wang family..." Jiang Qinian then made a throat-slitting gesture.

Yan Ziyan rolled his eyes and said, "What are you thinking? I meant putting a sack over someone's head and hitting them on the head with a club, you know those, right?"
