Chapter Eight
Xia Zhi quickly bought the cake. She looked at Xie Yi beside her and said softly, "If you're not busy, you can go back and rest first. I can take care of Lin Yue here by myself."
She had originally intended to use this opportunity to let the male lead and female lead spend time together, but now she seriously doubted whether this decision was correct. After all, when Xu Yu did that just now, neither Meng Ziyue nor Xie Yi, who were standing nearby, stopped him.
They were accomplices too, Xia Zhi herself knew that.
When Xie Yi heard Xia Zhi say that, he subconsciously clenched his fist. He said half-jokingly, "Zhizhi, don't you trust me?"
Xia Zhi shook her head, "No, I'm just worried you'll get tired."

Xia Zhi always felt that Xie Yi's gaze was strange, as if he wanted to devour her, burning hot and scalding, with a sticky ambiguity.
Xia Zhi was a little intimidated, then said impatiently, "Fine, you should go back and rest."

Xia Zhi said slowly, "What's wrong with you?"
Xie Yi shook his head. "By the way, I've already paid for Lin Yue's hospitalization and treatment."

Xia Zhi finally breathed a sigh of relief after Xie Yi left. Fortunately, Xie Yi and Xu Yu had different personalities; Xie Yi didn't like to pester her.
She glanced down at the cake she had prepared for Lin Yue, feeling a bit worried. The plot was getting more and more absurd, and she didn't know how to proceed.
She took a deep breath and then walked into the VIP ward. Lin Yue raised her eyes slightly upon hearing the noise, "Senior!"
Xia Zhi walked over with the cake, "Here you go, try it and see if it's sweet."
Lin Yue happily accepted the cake, carefully took a bite, and said, "Mmm, it's very sweet! Thank you, senior!"
Xia Zhi smiled, then apologized again, "Yueyue, about today..."
Lin Yue suddenly interrupted her, "It's okay, senior, it's not your fault at all."
Xia Zhi could only nod. Then she heard Lin Yue cautiously ask, "Senior, may I ask why you always try to match me up with Xu Yu?"
Actually, she wasn't just trying to bring the two of them together; she just wanted to bring the female lead to the male leads' side...
Was she making it that obvious? Xia Zhi almost laughed.
She blinked. "What do you think of the three of them?"
Lin Yue recalled that person and couldn't help but say fearfully, "I'm a little afraid of them."
Xia Zhi seemed thoughtful. "It's normal to be afraid."
Lin Yue replied, "But I feel like you're not afraid, senior."
Xia Zhi tried hard to recall, and couldn't help but feel a little strange. Indeed, she was just tired of them, but she didn't seem to be that afraid of them before.

Xia Zhi was slightly taken aback, not yet reacting.
The nurse left quickly, seemingly to check on patients in the next ward.
Xia Zhi thought about what Xie Yi had said earlier and felt a little strange for some reason. As she was thinking, she suddenly heard Lin Yue say softly, "Senior, your phone is ringing."
Xia Zhi then realized what was happening, "Ah? Okay, okay."
Xia Zhi was about to answer the phone when she realized it was Xu Yu calling. Xia Zhi didn't want to answer and was about to hang up when Lin Yue suddenly said, "Senior, I saw him make several calls. What if it's something urgent?"
Helpless, Xia Zhi finally answered the phone, "Hello?"
A teasing voice came from the other end, "Is that Xia Zhi?"
Xia Zhi didn't recognize the person's voice, but she still frowned. "That's right."
"Xu Yu is drunk here and keeps calling your name. Are you sure you don't want to come and see him? He's so pitiful."
Xia Zhi hung up the phone without changing her expression.
Lin Yue looked at Xia Zhi and subconsciously said, "Senior, why don't you go check on her? Just in case something happens..."
Xia Zhi thought to herself, "What could possibly happen to someone like Xu Yu? Who would dare to touch him!"
However, to ease Lin Yue's worries, she nodded and said, "I'll go check it out later."
Lin Yue smiled and said, "I'll be discharged soon, so you can go ahead. I'll be fine."
Xia Zhi was speechless, and then received another phone call. It was the same man again, "Hey, Xia Zhi, Xu Yu is my friend, but he's acting crazy at my place while drunk, it's really annoying!"
Xia Zhi asked, "Isn't Meng Ziyue here?"
The man said, "Meng Ziyue had other matters to attend to and left first."
Xia Zhi sighed helplessly, "Tell me the address, and I'll go there."
Hearing Xia Zhi's tone, Lin Yue suddenly said cautiously, "Senior, please don't quarrel over someone as insignificant as me."
Xia Zhi shook her head, "It's okay, you can just leave later, I'll go first..."
Lin Yue nodded, "Okay! Senior! Go quickly!!"
Xia Zhi could only pick up her phone and bag and then leave the hospital. It was a bright and sunny day, and Xia Zhi hailed a taxi, intending to head to the private bar.
Even though it's daytime, with Xu Yu's status, surely he can find a place to drink? The place he's drinking at is called Zero Point Bar, and the person who just called is probably the owner of that bar.

The driver drove very fast, remaining silent the entire way.
Finally, the car stopped in front of the Zero Point Bar. Xia Zhi glanced at the bar; it was next to an urban village, surrounded by barbershops and the like, and it certainly didn't look like a legitimate place.
Xia Zhi felt a surge of anger rising within her. After paying the fare, she got out of the car and quickly walked into the Zero Point Bar.
The bar was dark, with old cobwebs in the corners and a damp smell in the air.
Xia Zhi frowned and walked inside. She hadn't gone far when she heard the voices of several men inside.
"If you ask me, let's just go for it!"
"What's there to be afraid of? This is the time to force it!"
"Bro, with your looks and wealth, what woman wouldn't throw herself at you?"
A group of men were chattering amongst themselves, and Xu Yu was among them. He leaned lazily against the bar, silently drinking his wine into his throat.
Xia Zhi got angry when she saw him like that. She was certain that he was doing it on purpose, trying to play the victim in front of her!
Xia Zhi coughed to acknowledge her presence.
A group of men looked up at the noise, their eyes filled with undisguised amazement.
"Holy shit!"
"Oh my god, I suddenly understand why Xu Yu was so eager to please..."
"..."
Xia Zhi frowned subconsciously as she listened to these unpleasant sounds.
She strode towards Xu Yu, and just as she was about to snatch the wine glass from his hand, the man next to Xu Yu suddenly stopped her.
Xia Zhi raised her eyebrows, then met a man's cold yet smiling eyes.
The man wore a gray t-shirt with a skull on it, which looked somewhat eerie. He had a muscular physique, clearly well-trained, and the t-shirt was taut. He had a pair of alluring, almond-shaped eyes, yet they concealed a faint glint of cunning. Every move he made exuded a mature yet sinister aura.
The man's gaze swept casually over Xia Zhi, then he picked up his wine glass and clinked it against Xu Yu's. He then looked at Xia Zhi provocatively, "You're Xia Zhi?"
Xia Zhi wasn't sure when Xu Yu had made such a friend; it seemed a bit dangerous. However, she simply frowned and nodded, "Yes, my name is Xia Zhi."
Xu Yu's heart started racing when he heard Xia Zhi's voice. He turned around and saw Xia Zhi standing next to him, carrying a faint fragrance.
Xia Zhi quickly smelled the alcohol on Xu Yu and said coldly, "Xu Yu, your parents will be angry if they know you're drinking here and making friends with these shady characters."
Everyone around held their breath, staring at Xia Zhi with unabashed disdain. Although her words were harsh, no one present argued with her.
She possesses a unique charm, as if she were born with a pure, radiant beauty that evokes tenderness and affection.
The man chuckled and swirled his glass. "What nonsense friends? You mean us?"
Xia Zhi looked at the man, "Thank you for taking care of Xu Yu. You were the one who called me just now, right?"
The man smiled and said, "Let me introduce myself. My name is Xie Ningyu."
Is your surname Xie?
Xia Zhi couldn't help but give the man in front of her a strange look. What was his relationship with Xie Yi?
Xie Ningyu seemed to see through her thoughts and smiled, "Xie Yi and I are related, but we're quite distant."
Xia Zhi nodded. "Hello, I'm Xia Zhi."
Xie Ningyu looked Xia Zhi up and down, "You have to ask Xu Yu if he's willing to leave."
Xia Zhi subconsciously looked at Xu Yu, who was calmly meeting her gaze, his eyes holding a hint of mockery.
Xia Zhi looked at Xu Yu, who seemed reluctant to leave. Just as she was about to leave, unable to bear it any longer, the group of men suddenly stood up and surrounded her.
Like a pack of wolves, a thought flashed through Xia Zhi's mind.
