Chapter 10: Dining Hall

The water-wave-like film-like door rippled as she entered, and Li Yiru walked towards the dining hall according to the map on the token.

This body had been working a lot since childhood and had long since developed strength and toughness. Even so, as she continued to climb up the mountain, the endless steps made her legs feel like they were filled with lead, becoming heavier and heavier, and more and more tired.

After two hours, we finally finished climbing the stairs and the road began to flatten out.

After walking for about another half an hour through the winding paths through the woods and bamboo forests, and even around a lake, we finally approached the place indicated by the token.

Phew~ Just turn another corner and we’ll be there.

Li Yiru tidied up her messy hair, straightened her clothes, took a few deep breaths, and prepared herself as if for an interview before continuing on her way.

Unexpectedly, the scene that came into her eyes made Li Yirou's pupils tremble slightly, and she was very surprised.

Based on what she saw along the way, she speculated that the world of cultivation was a fantastic place that was a hundred times richer than the mortal world. The cafeteria was where the disciples of the sects had their meals, and it should be as grand and majestic as a luxury hotel building.

But the canteen here is too inconspicuous, just like the straw shed where livestock are raised in their village.

There were a few bamboo tables and chairs under the shed, which looked a bit poor and simple.

Li Yiru felt bitter. How come things always developed beyond her expectations after testing her spiritual roots? Was this really a good place?

But she was convinced by Minjing and wanted to see what it was like to actually work there.

Li Yirou walked in nervously, this time taking a closer look. The hut was U-shaped, with an open space in the middle. To the left was a long row of stoves, and next to it was a well. To the right was a row of bamboo racks, on which hung various pickled meats.

There are a few bamboo houses in front, which are quite unique.

Li Yirou was just wondering where to go and who to find when the door of the bamboo house in front was pushed open from the inside.

Even though she was used to seeing beauties on the screen, the young woman who appeared in the bamboo house still surprised her. Her black hair was casually tied up, and she had the temperament of a fairy. However, her movements were quite slow, which made Li Yirou a little anxious.

Seeing her staring at her in a daze, the woman smiled faintly and greeted her, "You are the new servant disciple here, right?"

Li Yirou suppressed her anxiety, smiled sweetly, and took a few steps forward. "Yes, a real person."

He didn't know whether to call the woman in front of him "senior sister" or something else. She couldn't tell that the people of the same level as Minjing were teaching him were of a higher level, so he thought it wouldn't be wrong to call her something higher.

"This is my token." Li Yirou came to her and showed her the token in her hand.

She could feel a spiritual force sweeping over her, and the woman smiled gently, "Yes, it's you. You don't have to call me Zhenren. My name is Wang Xiuling, and you can just call me Aunt Xiuling."

Li Yirou was slightly surprised. She didn't look very old. Maybe it was because of her seniority that she was allowed to be addressed like that?

"Okay, Aunt Xiuling." Li Yirou played the role of obedience, and then took the initiative to introduce herself. "My name is Li Yirou, you can call me Yirou or Xiaorou."

The little girl is weak and has a cute appearance. Her big eyes seem to be able to speak, and her innocence reveals a bit of pitifulness. She is indeed like a fragile little flower, but her skin is dark, and she exudes a tenacious vitality.

Maybe it’s because he lives in an ordinary family in the mortal world and needs to work.

"Then I'll call you Xiaorou." Wang Xiuling had a good impression of her and chose a more intimate name. "You must be tired after traveling for several days."

"Aunt Xiuling, I'm not tired. Just tell me if there's anything you need me to do." Master Minjing had finally found her a good job, and she had to perform well on her first day.

She was used to multitasking, and while talking to Wang Xiuling, she also analyzed Minjing's intentions. She had poor spiritual roots and no backing, but she was in a seemingly ordinary position. No one would compete with her, and she wouldn't starve. It was good, and she had to cherish it.

Wang Xiuling smiled and said, "There's nothing to do for now. If you're not tired, why not go to the Deacon Hall to collect the apparel and other items for the new disciples?"

Li Yirou heard her say this, and saw that her clothes seemed to have the same pattern embroidered on them as Minjing's, but the quality was a little worse. This meant that everyone in the sect had uniforms, so she quickly got one, so she nodded, "Aunt Lingxiu, I'll be back soon."

"By the way, Aunt Lingxiu, there's a kitten that came with me. There's nothing to be ashamed of in the sect, right?"

If keeping small animals is prohibited, she will have to see if she can put Taxue into the space.

But even if it can go in, it would be a bit unfair to keep it locked up in there all the time. Kittens are most active at this time, and I'm afraid it must have been suffocated these two days.

"There are no such rules." Wang Xiuling's tone was still gentle. "There are also cultivators in the sect who raise spiritual beasts, but there seems to be no cultivators who raise animals from the mortal world."

"Just make sure it doesn't run around and get hurt by other spirit beasts."

Li Yirou knew that Taxue was smart and very vigilant. When she was attacked by a poisonous spider before, it reminded her very quickly, so nothing should happen.

"Thank you, Aunt Lingxiu. I'll put it here first."

Wang Xiuling raised her hand and pointed at the bamboo house. "The west room is empty. You can use it as you like, but you need to clean it up."

Li Yirou still thanked her. Wang Xiuling seemed gentle and easy to get along with, and was a good boss. She was grateful to Minjing and missed her a little. It would be great if she could be here too.

He placed the backpack in the house, stepped out of the snow, stretched his body, and began to explore around fearlessly.

Li Yirou also relaxed upon seeing this. It was a really good start, she thought optimistically.

Thinking of going to the Deacon's Hall first, I just took a quick look. Apart from some dust, the room was quite big.

The house is fully equipped with basic furniture, including a bamboo bed, a table, several chairs and stools, and two bamboo boxes. Compared with the original owner's previous living conditions, it is considered a mansion.

Li Yiru was in a good mood. She found the location of the Deacon Hall from the token, said hello to Wang Xiuling, and set off from the cafeteria.

After coming out, we followed the path and turned around to get out of the bamboo forest. Fortunately, there were no steps, so it was much easier.

As we walked, the scenery suddenly became clear. There were no longer randomly built straw huts, bamboo houses, or untreated dirt roads, but wide avenues paved with stone slabs, and the houses had become quaint buildings.

There are carved beams and painted buildings, flying eaves and brackets, and fairy birds flying slowly and singing happily above. Trees, flowers and plants are arranged in an orderly manner, and there is a new scene at every step.

Looking closely, you can see that there are no seams at all on the blue brick walls of the house, which is even more advanced than modern technology.

Purple smoke curled in the air, refreshing and invigorating. There were also monks flying through the air in groups of three or two, or passing by quickly. Everyone was in a hurry to get on their way, and no one's eyes stayed on her for a second.

Li Yiru was in a complicated mood. She felt like she had come to the world of cultivation, but seemed very far away from the real world of cultivation.
