Chapter 381 Treating the Child

The old woman jumped up: "I've already paid them for the consultation, but they refuse to give me the prescription. What is this if not a shady business?"

Seeing that the child's complexion was getting worse, Yao Tongjia quickly gestured to the police officer to check on the child: "We must get him to the hospital as soon as possible, otherwise he won't make it!"

The police officers were shocked when they saw the child's face, which was already shrouded in a dark aura, indicating that he was about to die. Before the officers could say anything, they were shocked.

The old woman sat down on the ground again, holding the child: "My granddaughter's problem must be caused by your family. Quickly give me the prescription and go brew the medicine, and she will be fine!"

But Yao Tongjia wouldn't give her a prescription; if she did, it would be hard to explain. Actually, if the old lady were more reasonable, she could use acupuncture to control the child's condition.

There was no way the child could have held on until the surgery, but this old lady showed no intention of taking the child to the hospital; she just wanted to stay here and cause trouble!

If she were to harm the child, and the child were to develop problems, she would be in trouble. Considering the practicalities, Yao Tongjia decided not to intervene. Given that the child had encountered such an elderly person, she could only set aside her desire to help others and respect their fate.

A large crowd quickly gathered in front of the pharmacy. Xue Family Pharmacy is a long-established and well-known shop on this street, and many elderly people prefer to come here for medical treatment.

Now that people hear there's something interesting to see, many have flocked over. From snippets of conversation, everyone has learned that the old man concealed the child's fall, only saying that the child had a cold and received a prescription.

However, the pharmacy soon found out about the situation and took the prescription back. But the old lady was very strange. Even though they said it was very dangerous for the child not to go to the hospital for surgery, she remained unmoved and kept pestering them.

Seeing that the child's face had turned bluish-black, someone quickly urged, "Why aren't you taking the child to the hospital? The child is dying!"

But the old woman seemed not to hear him and asked Yao Tongjia to produce the prescription from the first time. Some people couldn't stand it and said, "She paid your consultation fee, so you should return her prescription to her so she can go to the hospital as soon as possible!"

"Otherwise, if this child really doesn't make it, your clinic will also bear some responsibility!"

Yao Tongjia sighed inwardly: "I told her a long time ago that the child had a brain hemorrhage and needed to go to the hospital for surgery, but she refused to go. Judging from her current appearance, she is about to give the child medicine to drink."

“Wait until something happens to the child before you say it’s our fault. The police are here now. We’ve been telling her to go to the hospital all along. It’s none of our business!”

Just then, a man who looked like a traitor, with his hair slicked back and gleaming, walked over and said, "I heard that someone died from treating patients at your pharmacy?"

Oh! So that's where they were waiting. Yao Tongjia's heart relaxed. She walked up to the child's grandmother and snatched the child away: "The child is still breathing, how could anyone be dead?"

Without waiting for anyone to come in, Yao Tongjia took the child into the pharmacy and told the clerk, "Stop them from coming in!"

Yao Tongjia carried the child into a room, closed the door, and then dripped two or three drops of spiritual spring water into the child's mouth—this was completely undiluted.

After carefully taking the child's pulse, she realized that the child had probably fallen and hit his head, and there was some blood accumulation in his head. She took out a blood-guiding silver needle and quickly inserted it into the child's brain!

After the incision was made, Yao Tongjia saw that the bluish-black color on the child's face was slowly fading. She touched the child's face and found that the temperature on the face had risen a little.

But then, she suddenly heard the door being kicked. Yao Tongjia said through the door, "Are you afraid I'll save the child? Are you deliberately interfering with my treatment?"

"Are the police still around? Shouldn't this kind of person be arrested?"

The child's grandmother wailed, "This is a black-hearted place! They almost killed my child! They even snatched him in here. Are they trying to cover up the crime?"

After Yao Tongjia finished speaking, she ignored the situation outside and pretended that they were singing. As long as she could save the child, all the conspiracies would be nothing but shadows. Once exposed to strong light, everything would disappear!

Yao Tongjia waited for ten minutes and saw that the bleeding from the child's head had stopped before she pulled out the silver needle. Then she took out a spray bottle and sprayed it into the needle hole in the hair.

Because of the urgency, she used undiluted spiritual spring water. Now that the child is basically out of danger, she carefully picked him up: "I didn't want to save you, but you're lucky. You should repay me, so wake up soon!"

When the door was kicked open again, Yao Tongjia flung it open, and the traitorous-looking man with hair so thick you could shove a mosquito on it stumbled in.

Fortunately, Yao Tongjia was prepared and had already dodged to the side, otherwise she would have been tackled!

The traitor stood up, grimacing and trembling: "Do you know who my father is? How dare you treat me like this? I'll make sure your pharmacy goes out of business!"

Yao Tongjia, not wanting to be spat on, stepped aside. The traitor, thinking Yao Tongjia was afraid, said, "As long as you vacate the pharmacy for me, I'll help you settle things!"

Just then, a panicked couple rushed in through the door: "My child, how is my child?"

Yao Tongjia handed the child over, saying, "Everything's alright now!"

Before the child's mother could speak, the child's grandmother immediately jumped up and down: "Our precious child! Our precious child was killed by this shady clinic!"

The child's mother's arms and legs went weak. Yao Tongjia was about to hand the child to the mother, but seeing that she couldn't even straighten her arms, she quickly took the child back: "I'm a doctor, you can trust me, the child is alright!"

The mother took the child in her arms and pressed the child's face against hers. The face was warm and the child was still breathing. Her heart instantly calmed down: "Thank you, doctor. My neighbor said the child fell down the stairs. I was so scared!"

Yao Tongjia quickly added, "Your mother-in-law said the child only had a cold and didn't fall! We later realized something was wrong and told her to take the child to the hospital, but she wouldn't!"

The child's mother, her hands trembling, asked, "Mom, why didn't you send it?"

The child's grandmother scoffed, "A good-for-nothing like him, why would he need to go to the hospital!"

The child's father was incredulous upon hearing this: "Mom, how could you say that? She's my own flesh and blood too!"

"What's wrong with what I said? You all feed this good-for-nothing milk powder every day, what right does she have to drink it? Why don't you give it to my precious grandson, your second brother's child!"

The child's father took two steps back: "So the baby has been crying from hunger all this time because you stole the formula and fed it to your second brother's child?"

"I stole? I had no reason to steal; I took it openly and honestly! What can you do about it!"

The child's mother suddenly interjected, "Did you push the child down the stairs?"

The child's grandmother was caught off guard by the question and hesitated for a moment, but she saw that her daughter-in-law, who usually dared not utter a word, was now raising her voice at her.

He instantly lost his temper: "So what if I pushed her? She shouldn't have been alive in the first place!"
