155 Protecting one's own

155 Protecting one's own

Chi Wanwan plopped down on the sofa and said, "I'm not leaving. This is my home. I'm not going anywhere."

Mr. Chi, unable to contain himself any longer, roared at her, "Ask yourself honestly, is this really your home?"

Chi Wanwan bit her tongue, tears welling up in her eyes from the pain, and stubbornly looked at Chairman Chi.

"Daddy, Mommy, I was raised by you both. Just because we're not related by blood, are you going to abandon me?"

Madam Chi still couldn't bear it. "Wanwan, listen to me. Sending you abroad for further studies is for your own good."

"Is this for my own good, or do you want me to make room for your biological daughter?" Chi Wanwan was used to being willful.

In the past, when she was so aggressive, the Chi couple always coaxed her gently because they thought she was their own flesh and blood.

Now that they know she knew all along that she wasn't the Chi family's biological child and had even persecuted their biological daughter, how could they possibly swallow their anger?

Chairman Chi angrily said, "You have no heart. Butler, book a plane ticket immediately and send her abroad."

He doesn't even need to investigate any more evidence; given her current state, he simply can't tolerate her.

Chi Wanwan was startled and immediately realized that she had made a fool of herself.

She no longer had the right to be willful in this family, but she always forgot and still thought she was the eldest daughter of the Chi family.

Her eyes were red and swollen. "I won't go abroad unless I die."

Chairman Chi was so angry that the veins on his forehead throbbed. He ordered the housekeeper, "If she doesn't leave, tie her to a plane."

When Madam Chi saw that her husband was really angry, she felt sorry for her adopted daughter and said, "Wanwan, don't argue with your father. Apologize to him and soften your stance."

Chi Wanwan turned her face away and refused to apologize.

Enraged, Chairman Chi stormed upstairs and quickly disappeared into the stairwell.

Just then, a servant's joyful voice came from the courtyard, "Young Master, you're back."

Chi Wanwan's eyes lit up. Her older brother was back!

He's the one who spoils her the most in this family, so he definitely won't let her adoptive father send her abroad.

She was about to get up and leave when she suddenly remembered something, and she sat on the sofa and began to sob.

Chi Mu strode into the villa, and the butler took his suitcase from him.

He first saw Mrs. Chi standing there, called out "Mom" to greet her, and then saw Chi Wanwan sitting on the sofa crying.

He strode over, sat down beside her, and forcefully lifted her face with his hand.

Seeing her face covered in tears and looking very sad, he frowned and said, "Wanwan, who bullied you? Tell your big brother, and I'll go beat him up."

Chi Mu has always been a doting brother to his sister, spoiling Chi Wanwan like a precious gem.

When Chi Wanwan was little, she had beautiful long hair, and Mrs. Chi would braid her hair in different ways every day.

She was very smug when she went to school, mocking other children for their messy hair that looked like a bird's nest, and saying that their mothers were all clumsy with their hands.

The children who were mocked didn't want to play with her, she had few friends, and she was isolated in kindergarten.

She wanted the children to play with her, but she wouldn't take the initiative to get close to them, so she deliberately cut off her hair.

Just then, Chi Mu went to pick her up and saw that her long hair was gone. He was both angry and anxious.

When asked, she hesitated and didn't dare to answer, so Chi Mu went to the kindergarten teacher to seek justice for Chi Wanwan.

Seeing that someone was backing her up, Chi Wanwan insisted that her hair was cut by a child while she was asleep.

Back then, there were no security cameras in the kindergarten, so no one believed that a group of children had been falsely accused.

Because adults don't think too badly of 'victims', nor do they imagine that a little child would cut off their own hair to harm other children.

Chi Mu's protection of Chi Wanwan brought her a taste of success, and she had used this trick since she was a child to make Chi Mu feel sorry for her.

At this moment, a few tears from her could make Chi Mu feel sorry for her. She said, "Dad said I am not the Chi family's biological daughter and that he wants to send me abroad for further studies."

"Brother, I don't want to leave Hong Kong, and I don't want to leave Mommy. Can you please ask Daddy for me?"

Madam Chi felt something was off about what she heard, but since she doted on Chi Wanwan, she didn't think about it too much.

Chi Mu frowned. "Mom, what is Dad thinking? We watched Wanwan grow up. How can he be so heartless as to send Wanwan abroad for a daughter he's never even met?"

Madam Chi frowned slightly. "Chi Mu, you don't know the situation at all, so don't accuse your father so easily."

Chi Wanwan hugged Chi Mu and said, "Brother, it's my fault. I made Daddy angry because I was keeping an artist as a mistress. I accept Daddy's punishment, but I don't want to leave Hong Kong."

Chi Mu said, "If you don't want to leave, no one can force you to. I'll go talk to Dad right now."

Chi Mu raised his hand and wiped away her tears. "Okay, your makeup is all ruined by crying. You don't look pretty at all. I bought you a gift. Go get it from your suitcase."

"Thank you, brother." Chi Wanwan smiled through her tears.

Chi Mu gently tapped her red, tear-stained nose and said affectionately, "I'll go find Dad first, then I'll come back to keep you company later."

"good."

Chi Mu got up and went upstairs.

Madam Chi's brow twitched; she felt something was amiss, but couldn't quite put her finger on it.

With someone backing her up, Chi Wanwan stopped crying. She had the maid take the bags and packages she had bought that day back to her room, and she went upstairs as lightly as a bird to Chi Mu's room to get the gift he had bought for her.

Madam Chi watched her adopted daughter's cheerful figure, thought for a moment, and then hurried to her study.

Chi Wanwan was raised by Chi Mu himself, and he couldn't bear to see her suffer any injustice.

The father and son always had a big fight because of Chi Wanwan, and today was no exception.

Chi Mu's expression held a hint of irritation. "Dad, Wanwan has already graduated from university. Why are you sending her abroad for further studies?"

Mr. Chi looked at his travel-worn son, who had just returned and was being used as a pawn by Chi Wanwan.

Sometimes he didn't know whether to call his son a genius or a fool.

In the business world, he could easily see through other people's deceit and treachery, but he was completely unguarded around Chi Wanwan.

He believed everything Chi Wanwan said.

Because of this trust, he never bothered to verify anything, only blindly believing what he heard.

"We've found your biological sister."

Chi Mu was taken aback. Although he had no feelings for his biological sister, they were related by blood.

"So you're sending Wanwan abroad just to make room for your biological daughter?"

Hearing this, Chairman Chi was furious. "You heard that from Chi Wanwan?"

Chi Mu didn't want to cause trouble for his sister, so he said, "That's what I think."

Chairman Chi slammed the two documents in his hand in front of Chi Mu and said, "Take a good look at why I sent her abroad."

Chi Mu picked up the document and quickly scanned it. The more he read, the more his brows furrowed. After reading it, he vehemently denied it, "Impossible. I raised Wanwan myself. I know her character best. She couldn't possibly do such a thing."

“I sent someone to check her itinerary. She did visit the small fishing village five years ago. Chi Mu, if she really hurt your sister, I will not forgive her.”
