Because she had disgusted An Mingzhu, Lin Chuxia had a much quieter two days.
And just like that, the first day of school arrived.
"Mom and Dad, if you both go to see me off, what will I do when school starts in early summer?" An Mingzhu said insincerely as she stood at the top of the stairs before leaving.
Xie Jinya got angry whenever Lin Chuxia was mentioned; "Ignore her! She got into that lousy school, and she has the nerve to ask us to deliver her?"
An Mingzhu was secretly delighted, but her face showed a conflicted and reluctant expression: "But today is the registration day for new students. If Chu Xia goes alone, will she be able to manage on her own?"
"Don't worry about her! Whether she's busy or not, that's her own business!" Xie Jinya stepped forward and took An Mingzhu's suitcase, saying gently, "Alright, your foot injury has just healed, it's only right that we take you home."
Then, Xie Jinya's tone changed again, "As for Lin Chuxia, she's perfectly fine, there's no need for us to deliver her!"
So, the family made a ruckus and sent An Mingzhu off to school.
Not long after they left, Lin Chuxia emerged alone, pushing a suitcase. Under the pity and mockery of the servants, she carried it downstairs by herself, then opened the door and left.
When she came out, An Mingzhu and her group had not yet left and were noisily loading their luggage.
She simply glanced in that direction, then hailed a ride and left.
An Mingzhu and her group naturally saw Lin Chuxia as well. When they saw Lin Chuxia taking a taxi alone to report for duty, each of the four of them had a different reaction.
Xie Jinya's face was full of anger: "She's putting on a pitiful act to deliberately annoy me! She can't even call me 'Mom' anymore; anyone who didn't know better would think she's mute!"
An Guosheng didn't speak, but his expression wasn't good either.
“Maybe… Chu Xia is unhappy. After all, my parents took me to register for school… Chu Xia might be upset…” An Mingzhu gently explained for Lin Chu Xia.
"Hmph!" Xie Jinya snorted, then said disdainfully, "Who can she blame for her own lack of ambition? She got into such a bad school and still has the nerve to ask us to send her off? She can afford to lose face, but the An family can't!"
"Alright, alright! You should say less and put your things away quickly, it's getting late," An Guosheng urged.
An Mingyu stared blankly in the direction Lin Chuxia had left, his expression somewhat complicated.
It was An Mingzhu who woke him from his daze: "Ayu? Ayu! Ayu, what are you looking at? Hurry up and lower the hood, we're about to leave."
"Oh!" An Mingyu snapped out of her daze, hurriedly closed the trunk lid, and got into the car with An Mingzhu.
Along the way, An Mingzhu excitedly chatted with An Guosheng and his wife about her plans for the next four years of university. The group chatted and laughed from time to time.
Although An Mingyu would laugh along, he wasn't very active. An Mingzhu noticed his behavior but didn't say anything.
Upon arriving at the school, the family joyfully unloaded their luggage.
An Mingzhu had an unusually large amount of luggage; there were a total of eight suitcases of various sizes!
Besides daily necessities such as clothes, bedding, toiletries, and skincare products, there were also two large boxes of high-end snacks that Xie Jinya had prepared in advance for her to get along well with her new roommate.
Looking at the pile of luggage, An Mingyu couldn't help but think of Lin Chuxia before she left, pulling only a suitcase behind her.
I felt increasingly depressed.
