"Gu Yuheng, are you really alright?" Lin Chuxia asked again, showing her concern.
"It's nothing." The person still maintained a cold expression.
"oh."
And then, that was it.
Lin Chuxia buried herself in her book again, while Gu Yuheng sulked once more.
For the next half hour, the study was eerily quiet. However, the atmosphere within a meter of Gu Yuheng was somewhat strange, as if even the air itself carried a hint of awkwardness and oppression.
However, Lin Chuxia was quite far away from him and couldn't sense the aura that someone was deliberately releasing at all.
Gu Yuheng: "..."
Perhaps realizing that he wouldn't get the response he wanted if he continued to be so stiff, Gu Yuheng simply dropped his cold and aloof expression and resumed the casual and gentle demeanor he usually displayed when he was alone with Lin Chuxia.
"Cough cough," Gu Yuheng clutched his stomach, looking quite uncomfortable. "Honey, I think I pulled a muscle unintentionally. My abdominal muscles feel a bit sore. Can you check me over?"
Before he could finish speaking, he had already unbuttoned his shirt, revealing his muscular chest.
Lin Chuxia raised her head, her gaze falling on his fair and well-defined abdominal muscles, and said with some difficulty, "Gu Yuheng, I don't know how to do this."
Gu Yuheng: "But aren't you studying medicine?"
"I studied medicine, but I majored in pharmacology. And in my first year, I only learned theoretical knowledge. The only practical course was identifying herbs. I never actually treated anyone."
So, she really doesn't know how to treat patients anymore.
If Gu Yuheng had a scar on his abdomen, it would be fine, but he didn't have any signs of injury at all, so she wasn't sure if he was hurt or not.
Although Gu Yuheng is most likely genuinely strained a muscle in his current condition, there is also a small possibility that it is psychological—she cannot discern this, so she dares not draw any conclusions rashly.
Lin Chuxia thought for a moment and asked cautiously, "Gu Yuheng, think back carefully, did you accidentally bump your abdomen before?"
"I don't remember. Honey, why don't you feel it for me?" Gu Yuheng looked at her expectantly.
Lin Chuxia: "..."
After a two-second silence, Lin Chuxia finally put down her book, stood up and walked towards Gu Yuheng. She then squatted down in front of him and gently placed her hand on his abs.
"Does it hurt here?" Lin Chuxia pressed gently.
Gu Yuheng: "It doesn't hurt."
Lin Chuxia moved her hand to the side and continued to ask, "What about here?"
The person continued to shake their head: "It doesn't hurt."
Even after Lin Chuxia touched his abs all over and asked him all sorts of questions, Gu Yuheng still gave the same answer: it didn't hurt.
Lin Chuxia withdrew her hand, looking at him with a hint of doubt in her eyes: "Gu Yuheng, was the pain just now just psychological?"
Gu Yuheng retorted without hesitation, "Impossible! It definitely hurt just now. Maybe you pressed too lightly, honey, and I couldn't feel it? Why don't you press harder and touch it again?"
Lin Chuxia twitched her lips, somewhat speechless, but still did as he said and touched it again.
Before touching him, she specifically told Gu Yuheng, "If it hurts, tell me."
However, after she touched Gu Yuheng's abdomen again, she didn't hear the man groan.
Is he sure he was really in pain? Is he sure it wasn't just his imagination? Lin Chuxia began to have doubts.
