Chapter 18 Qingqiu

Autumn is approaching, and Zhaoxian Taoist Temple will soon be on its triennial holiday.

Because the students come from all over the country, their holidays are relatively long, with up to four months of vacation to go home and visit their families.

On September 20th, the carriages from the three families who came to pick up the people had arrived at the Taoist temple. Ji Yi and Linglong were accompanied by a large entourage of over a hundred guards, while the Bai family only sent three servants and two carriages.

The old woman in charge was originally a bit mean, but when she saw that Ah Jiang and Linglong Xiaopang were getting along well, she immediately changed her attitude.

The three had planned to take this opportunity to go out and have fun, and with Linglong's help, they successfully sneaked away. They found a teleportation array and were transported directly to Qingzhou.

Qingzhou City is quaint and charming, paved with bluestone slabs. With its many waterways, scenes of small bridges, flowing streams, and traditional houses can be seen everywhere. The city is lined with greenery and waterways, all clean and tidy, and further on, various shops line the streets, giving it the appearance of a bustling metropolis.

"Where do we go next?" Ji Yi asked.

"We'll spend the day here, and then I've already planned out the rest of the itinerary, guaranteed to be thrilling and exciting enough to satisfy you," Linglong said confidently.

"Let's skip the thrills and excitement."

Ah Jiang said weakly.

She still vividly remembers her experience at Deer Horn Workshop; she had only ever seen such fantastical and dazzling action scenes in animated films.

I don't want to go through that a second time.

Linglong touched her chin as if deep in thought, then gave a sly smile.

All three were young at heart. Although A-Jiang was a little worried, he was quickly attracted by the charm of the ancient city. He ate and played around in the city, and when he got tired, he found an inn and rested well for the night.

The next day, the three of them arrived at a village called Xiao Qingyun by carriage. Linglong bought three pieces of withered tree bark from an old man in a farmhouse.

Ah Jiang looked at the tree bark and thought it was something strange, but assumed it was some kind of souvenir, so he didn't ask any further questions.

The little girl was very happy and started climbing the mountain with A Jiang and Ji Yi.

The summit of Qingyun Mountain was carved out by human hands, featuring some stone carvings and scenic spots, such as a famous person who once lay drunk here, and an official who once repaired a certain building. There is also a small Taoist temple on a nearby peak. The scenery is not much; you can see it all in half an hour.

Linglong seemed distracted, as if she were searching for something.

Finally, they found half a broken stone tablet. Following Linglong's instructions, they pasted three pieces of bark onto it, and the three of them immediately appeared on a platform on a mountaintop.

"Linglong, where is this?"

Looking at the suddenly changed scene, Ah Jiang had a bad feeling.

"Qingqiu!"

"where?!"

Ajahn suspected he was hallucinating.

"Hey, don't get excited, it's just the outer perimeter of Qingqiu."

Linglong quickly grabbed her, looking around as if afraid of disturbing something.

Ah Jiang's scalp was about to explode. Qingqiu, the legendary hometown of the nine-tailed fox!

"Are you here to find a nine-tailed fox spirit beast?"

A-Jiang looked at Linglong in disbelief.

"What are you saying? I wouldn't even dare to dream of such a thing in my daydream!"

Linglong ingratiatingly took Ah Jiang's arm.

"You might not dare to think about it, but you dare to do it."

"Look at what you're saying. Even if I dared to do it, there are no more nine-tailed celestial foxes in this world."

Ah Jiang glared at her.

“Ah Jiang, don’t be angry. The hunter we met last time who bought foxes caught those silver foxes here.”

"So you did all that research beforehand!"

"I'm about to enter a sect to cultivate, and I might not be able to come out for ten or twenty years. How boring that would be! Dear sister, please help me!" Linglong said, acting cute and charming.

"I promise, we'll just walk around the perimeter and absolutely won't do anything dangerous."

Linglong said confidently, "Others can bring out so many little foxes safely. The three of us are practically cultivators, surely we can catch even one? Even if we can't catch one, we can still get out safely."

Although A-Jiang and Ji-Yi felt it was unreliable, they couldn't resist Linglong's persistent pleading, so they had no choice but to agree.
