Chapter 181 Finding Friends

Ajahn wasn't far from the pool, so he could clearly see her porcelain-white skin, her long, smooth, deep blue hair, and... the golden horns on her head.

It suddenly turned around, and before A-Jiang could even get a good look at its delicate profile, it pounced on her. Before A-Jiang could react, she saw only a blur and found herself holding an object in her arms.

The object was wet, slippery, and warm.

"Master, you've finally arrived! I've been waiting for you for so long!"

Her voice was clear and sweet, and after speaking, she snuggled closer to Ah Jiang.

She then looked down and saw a child in her arms, about ten years old, with a very beautiful face, large, deep blue eyes that were watery with excitement, making his rosy cheeks look adorable.

Even the pair of golden horns on his forehead were no longer surprising.

The horn was a little over half a foot long and about the thickness of two fingers. It had a fork and was very conspicuous, so it could be seen from behind. However, only upon closer inspection could one see the strange symbols engraved on the golden horn.

"Master, why aren't you saying anything?"

Its tone and appearance are like those of an innocent and adorable child, and it is so beautiful that Ajahn Chah has no resistance to beautiful things.

He asked, "Little friend, who are you? Have you mistaken me for someone else?"

“Master, my name is Ao Wu. The Bodhisattva told me to wait for you here and accompany you on your journey to the West.”

It jumped back a distance and said respectfully, its body automatically appearing in blue robes and white armor. However, because of its small size, it lacked any majesty and looked more like a little actor going to perform, which made it seem very cute.

"Huh, Awoo?"

"Yes, Ao Wu."

"What a strange name!"

“It’s not strange. Our generation uses the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches to name us. I just happen to be named Wu.”

"Oh, is that how it is?"

Does that's what their family calls it? It sounds like a wolf howling...

Ajahn suppressed a laugh and asked, "It was arranged by the Bodhisattva, so why did you call me Master just now?"

"By following you on your westward journey, I have converted to Buddhism and am naturally your disciple. I should call you Master!"

"I've taken refuge in Buddha? I haven't taken refuge!!"

His expression froze for a moment, and he asked in surprise, "Didn't you go to Leiyin Temple on Mount Ling in the Western Paradise to seek the true scriptures, bring them back to the Tang Dynasty in the East to spread Buddhism and save all sentient beings?"

"No, that's not true! I don't look like a monk at all, and besides, I'm a woman!"

Is it because this little dragon man has bad eyesight and has never seen a monk before that he thinks he is a monk?

According to the setting of the Journey to the West world, this should be the White Dragon.

The story likely takes place at Eagle's Sorrow Gorge, where the white horse ate the white horse and fought a battle with Sun Wukong, eventually becoming his mount.

It seems that this world is indeed just a backdrop; the reality is quite different.

He paced anxiously in circles, his cute eyebrows furrowed, muttering to himself as he went.

"Did I make a mistake? The timing is about the same."

He moved closer to me and smelled me, saying to himself, "The smell is right, it smells like the flesh of a god who has cultivated virtue for ten lifetimes!"

I grabbed his little corner, forcing him to stop and look at me, and asked, "What? The flesh of a deity who has cultivated for ten lifetimes of good deeds?"

"The Bodhisattva said that the monk who came was a virtuous person who had cultivated for ten lifetimes, and his flesh was the flesh of an immortal. Eating it would grant immortality."

He struggled free somewhat reluctantly, and said, "I don't like being grabbed by the corners."

A Jiang's divine beast bloodline has almost awakened to the third level. A Jiang doesn't know the standards of this world. She can be considered a divine beast, right? A divine being, barely.

"There must be a mistake. I'm not from this world. I'll be leaving in a while."

"I guess we're not on the same team. The person you're waiting for might not have arrived yet. Why don't you wait a little longer? I'll be going now."

He grabbed Ah Jiang's hand and said pitifully:

"Back then, I destroyed the precious pearl left by the Ancestral Dragon, which violated the Heavenly Laws and was to be executed on the Dragon-Slaying Platform. Later, with the help of my mother, I escaped. For so many years, I have been hiding in this cave, afraid to live in the water, or even go into the water, because all the rivers, lakes, and seas in the world are connected. If I go into the water, the dragons will find out and capture me... Every day, I can only command little monsters to carry water for me to bathe. It's so uncomfortable."

"Later, the Bodhisattva told me that I would meet a monk traveling to the West, a virtuous person who had cultivated for ten lifetimes. I would be his porter, and when I finished repaying my karmic debts, I would be able to attain enlightenment. I have been waiting for more than 380 years, and now I have met you. Perhaps something was not explained clearly. Let's ask the Bodhisattva again, please don't leave, okay?"

A-Jiang felt quite sorry for him. It was so cruel that such a young child would be killed for making a mistake. So he said, "Alright, why don't you ask?"

He blinked his big blue eyes at Ah Jiang: "I am a sinful dragon, I can't invite the Bodhisattva, why don't you ask him?"

Ah Jiang was dumbfounded; she had no idea how to invite the Bodhisattva.

Just as the two of them were at a loss, a cold wind blew in, and a black figure appeared in front of us.

He said to the beautiful doll, "Quickly turn back into your original form and take her with you. I'll tell you the details later."

The child stared at him blankly for a moment, then stammered, "You are...you are...Qi Tian..."

Sun Wukong interrupted him, saying, "Hurry up!"

Before Ah Jiang could even see clearly, he had already landed on a fluffy... dragon head?

He reverted to his original form, a small white dragon, and carried Ajahn on his head as they flew rapidly out of the cave. But as soon as they were out of the cave, he suddenly transformed into a white horse.
