Chapter 22

Chapter 22

The three days that Ji Xin was away passed quickly.

Lin Jiu and Wen Min often chat during class breaks, but they also manage their time well so as not to delay their studies.

On the first day Ji Xin returned to class, Lin Jiu did not eat with Wen Min.

During the break, Wen Min planned to let Lin Jiu have dinner with them.

Lin Jiu refused.

She didn't want to suddenly interfere in the lives of Wen Min and Ji Xin.

She is not an extrovert and tends to be introverted when it comes to people she is not familiar with. Although Ji Xin is her classmate, she is not really familiar with him.

If she ate with the two of them, she would definitely feel uncomfortable and embarrassed.

So she told Wen Min clearly that she wanted to eat alone, and Wen Min understood.

Eating separately does not actually affect Lin Jiu and Wen Min’s conversation. They still chat for a while during breaks.

Ji Xin saw that they were chatting for too long and would occasionally knock on the table to remind them that it was time to do their homework.

Normally, Wen Min is really obedient.

Ji Xin made some noise behind her, and she immediately stopped talking and quickly ended the topic.

Occasionally, when Wen Min was in the middle of a conversation and was suddenly interrupted, he would get a little angry.

Most of the time, she would look at Ji Xin with her arms folded in anger to express her dissatisfaction.

In order to avoid minor frictions between them, Lin Jiu would first comfort Wen Min, calm her down, and then let her end the topic.

As the deputy monitor, Lei Yi would basically say something to ease the atmosphere and completely extinguish the signs of anger when seeing such a scene.

A few days passed like this, and one afternoon the class teacher Yuan Hui brought good news.

Ji Xin, who won the gold medal in the biology competition, combined with his previous award-winning experience, will be directly admitted to the top-ranked university in the country - Beijing University.

As long as he finishes the academic proficiency test at the end of May, Ji Xin won't have to come during the summer vacation. He can stay at home for a year and then go to Jinghe University to study.

There are not many competition students in their class, most of them take the college entrance examination honestly, but there are quite a few in other classes.

When Lin Jiu heard that Ji Xin was participating in the biology competition, he had expected Meng Qinyang to participate as well.

However, Meng Qinyang himself didn't seem to have such an idea, and planned to take the college entrance examination to enter university. When he heard that Ji Xin was going to the competition route, he even seemed a little happy.

After Yuan Hui announced the news during the break, Lin Jiu immediately turned around to look for Meng Qinyang, only to find that he was still sitting in his seat, not going anywhere.

He pouted and his face was as black as the bottom of a pot.

Ji Xin was really admitted to Beijing University through this competition, and Meng Qinyang was unhappy again.

She sighed in her heart, what a contradictory person he is.

Lin Jiu was secretly looking at Meng Qinyang, but he didn't notice it himself. However, Chen Miao caught him red-handed at the first moment.

He seemed to have predicted Lin Jiu's actions directly, supporting his head with one hand and looking at her with a smile.

I almost forgot that Chen Miao was still here.

Lin Jiu slowly turned his head and scratched behind his ear awkwardly, trying to calm his fluctuating mood.

Her mood had not yet completely calmed down. She glanced at Wen Min and realized that she was in a bad mood.

Before Yuan Hui announced the news, she was smiling like a sunflower, but now her face has become bitter.

It has something to do with Ji Xin.

Lin Jiu glanced at Ji Xin who was talking to Yuan Hui at the podium. Ji Xin's expression had not changed much from usual, and there was no sign of joy on his face.

Lin Jiu sighed, the person who tied the bell must be the one to untie it.

She decided to wait until Wen Min and Ji Xin were alone for a while before seeing how Wen Min was doing.

The next day at noon, Lin Jiu saw several red banners on his way to the cafeteria. The most eye-catching one was: Congratulations to Ji Xin, a student from Class 1402 of our school, for being admitted to Beijing University.

After finishing her meal, she went to the bulletin board near the school gate and found that several other students in the school had also achieved good results.

However, under the spotlight of Beijing University, their achievements seem not so impressive.

In Lin Jiu's impression, Jinghe University is a well-known institution of higher learning mentioned by all parents. Even her mother Yang Bing, who only attended elementary school, knows about Jinghe University, which shows its influence.

This afternoon, Lin Jiu planned to kill some time and take a break.

After Ji Xin was admitted, his classmates were extremely excited.

During the break, she overheard them discussing which university to apply to. Zhuo Ling, who was sitting next to them, was planning to apply to Haicheng University, a coastal university ranked among the top ten in the country with a fantastic campus.

As soon as Zhuo Ling said that, others started to talk about their preferred colleges, many of which Lin Jiu had never heard of.

They all seem to have their own university they want to go to, and they also have their own visions, planning what major to study and what kind of job they want to do in the future.

When Lin Jiu heard this, she felt a little uncomfortable because she had never thought about which university she would go to.

She didn't know what she liked or what kind of person she wanted to be, so she didn't know what major to study.

For a moment, she felt like a person without dreams and was a little confused.

As her second year of high school was coming to an end, she suddenly felt a sense of urgency. She felt that it was time to decide which university to apply to.

After reading the bulletin board, she turned around and went to the bookstore on the first floor of the Physical Education and Arts Building across the street as planned.

The bookstore is very big, with many books inside, mostly leisure books, including comics, romances, essays, etc. The reason she came here was because when she first came to school, she came here to read, and there was a volunteer application guide in the bookstore.

At that time, her study attitude was not very positive, she did not have enough self-awareness, and was not sure which university she could get into.

She took a few glances at the application guide and gave up.

It’s a bit difficult to find it now because the display in the bookstore has changed again.

I walked slowly around the bookstore for a long time and finally saw the book in an inconspicuous corner.

The book is a bit thick, roughly five centimeters.

Holding the book, Lin Jiu looked around and found there was no space left.

Some other people who were reading sat directly on the ground and read without affecting their fascinated state at all.

She estimated that she would have to read on it for a long time, and standing for half an hour holding the book was uncomfortable and her feet were tired.

So she found an open space with few people, hesitated for a few seconds, and finally sat down on the ground.

At first, she looked aimlessly.

Sometimes you look at it based on the national comprehensive ranking, and sometimes you look at it based on the professional evaluation ranking.

After spending some time, she learned the names of many famous universities and even found the names of universities she had heard her classmates mention.

However, she still didn't know which school to apply to.

Thinking too much will only lead to confusion.

After thinking for a few minutes, she decided to choose a city she liked and choose a school based on the city.

My favorite city...

After a few seconds, she came up with the answer.

Gimhae City.

The reason was simple: it was prosperous and she wanted to go and see it.

She wanted to go to the most prosperous city and see what the outside world was like.

She wanted to go out and see the world.

According to the page number in the catalog, she turned to the page that recorded the schools in Jinhai City, and the first school she saw was Jinhai University.

After carefully reading the school's profile, she found that it was a good school.

It ranks among the top five in the country, has a long history, a large campus, and beautiful scenery, but the admission score is a bit high.

After staring at the school's name for a full ten minutes, Lin Jiu secretly made up her mind that she would apply to Jinhai University.

Although she is still a little short of the admission score of Gimhae University, she still has a year to work hard.

In the future, everything is possible.

He put down the book, walked out of the bookstore, and stood in the corridor. The sunlight slanted down and fell on Lin Jiu's legs. Lin Jiu looked up at the bulletin board not far away, his heart pounding.

She had a feeling that her name would also appear on the list after the college entrance examination results were announced.

And, that must be a good result.

She was not in a hurry to go back to the classroom. Her lunch break had already been wasted and class had not started yet, so it would not matter if she wasted a little more.

Suppressing her excitement, she walked a few steps down the corridor, bathed in the sunlight, and followed the main road to the teaching building.

She slowed down her pace, stepping on the solid concrete ground step by step, and occasionally stopped to look at the trees and classmates returning from outside.

While looking around, I unexpectedly saw Chen Miao standing on the teaching building.

It was lunch time and many people were sleeping in the classroom. He was the only one standing there, occupying the entire corridor. He didn't know how long he had been standing there.

Logically speaking, Chen Miao should be sleeping on the table right now. After all, his work and rest schedule is quite regular, and he sleeps during lunch break.

Why is he there?!

And...the direction of his gaze...

Are you looking at her?

As soon as this thought came to mind, Lin Jiu's scalp suddenly went numb and his body stiffened.

After a few seconds, she slowly lowered her head, stopped looking around, and walked towards the teaching building in small and orderly steps.

Lin Jiu's classroom in the second year of high school was moved to Mingzhi Building, the middle building. It was a short walk, only five minutes away.

After entering the teaching building, it took her two minutes to reach the turning point of the stairs between the second and third floors.

Chen Miao should have gone in already!

Having prepared herself mentally, Lin Jiu walked slowly up the stairs. Halfway up, she saw Chen Miao.

He was facing the classroom with his back against the railing. When he heard footsteps, he turned his head and looked at her.

Lin Jiu didn't know how to describe his eyes. She vaguely felt that there seemed to be a hint of blame in them.

It's like saying: Why did you come so late?

Although his heart was pounding, Lin Jiu looked very calm. Under his gaze, he walked towards the classroom step by step.

The back door is not closed.

As soon as she entered the classroom, Chen Miao followed her.

Noticing the person behind him, Lin Jiu didn't look back or stop, but sat down directly on the seat and lay on the table facing Wen Min.

Closing her eyes, she first calmed down her mood and let her brain calm down.

Then, she listened to the noisy sound of the fan, her consciousness began to blur, and she fell asleep.

Lin Jiu was woken up by the bell for class preparation.

When she woke up, Wen Min was already awake and had started preparing the books for class.

Seeing that she was awake, Wen Min put down the book in his hand, leaned in and asked quietly: "Where did you go at noon?"

Lin Jiu replied in a voice that only the two of them could hear: "I went to the bookstore."

Wen Min nodded, but didn't ask why. She figured that class was about to start, and there wasn't much time left, so she could ask later.

Lin Jiu observed Wen Min's expression and found that she looked normal, with the gloom of yesterday completely gone.

I guess Ji Xin talked to her.

The stone in Lin Jiu's heart finally fell to the ground.
