Chapter 59
6pm.
In the living room, several lights were on on the ceiling, illuminating every corner of the room.
Besides the lights, there was an additional source of illumination. The curtains were half-drawn by the floor-to-ceiling windows, and the yellowish sunlight shone onto the small sofa, making it look unattractive to everyone, with nothing on it.
There was a person sitting in the other corner of the sofa.
He was simply dressed in a blue T-shirt and black pants, lying on the sofa with his eyes closed.
There were two people in front of him on the right. They put a sofa cushion under them and sat cross-legged in front of a low coffee table. They were peeling crayfish with transparent gloves on. There were two cold drinks on the table.
They ate while watching the TV screen in front of them, commenting on the plot from time to time.
Lin Jiu looked at the few crayfish left in the takeout box, then glanced at the time on TV. He turned his head and said to Wen Min beside him, "Why hasn't Ji Xin come yet? The crayfish are almost finished."
An hour ago, both of them were a little hungry, but Ji Xin had not arrived yet, so they couldn't go out to eat in advance, so they ordered crayfish takeout to fill their stomachs.
Wen Min was about to say something when there was a rhythmic knock on the door.
Boom boom boom.
Lin Jiu and Wen Min sat where they were and looked towards the gate at the same time.
Chen Miao slowly opened his eyes and stood up from the sofa without any haste. "I'll go open the door."
"Wait a minute!" Wen Min immediately stopped him, quickly took off the gloves on her greasy hands, stood up, and looked up and down at her clothes. "Let me clean up first." After saying this, she immediately ran to the bathroom in the bedroom.
Lin Jiu: “…”
Chen Miao looked at Wen Min's back and raised his eyebrows slightly. He lowered his head and asked Lin Jiu: "Before meeting me, did you also pay attention to your appearance like this?"
Lin Jiu looked up at him and said with a smile, "Guess."
Chen Miao curled his lips and chuckled, then bent down and touched the top of her head, "I guess you feel the same way."
Lin Jiu snorted twice and did not refute him.
The room was silent for a few seconds.
There was another knock on the door.
Lin Jiu glanced at the bedroom door; it was closed. She tilted her chin toward the door and said to Chen Miao, "Go open it. It's not a good idea to have Ji Xin waiting outside."
Chen Miao nodded, took more than ten steps with his long legs, and opened the door.
Chen Miao was about the same height as Ji Xin, and their eyes met.
After a few seconds of confusion, Ji Xin said coldly, "Excuse me, I'm looking for Wen Min."
Chen Miao glanced at Ji Xin. He only had a cell phone in his hand and no luggage beside him. It seemed that he had just arrived after settling down.
Chen Miao turned sideways, making way for him. "Come in first."
Ji Xin nodded to him, walked into the living room, and saw Lin Jiu who was peeling shrimps with his head down.
Lin Jiu looked up at this old classmate. He was wearing a white polo shirt, looking fresh and clean. He looked very much like the first time she met him. He still had the youthful aura, and a hint of coolness emanated from him.
He had been traveling non-stop to get here without any rest. There was a hint of fatigue between his brows and he looked a little haggard.
Seeing Ji Xin searching for Wen Min with her eyes, Lin Jiu immediately said, "She's in the bathroom. You can sit for a while."
Ji Xin stood there without moving, as if he was going to wait.
Chen Miao walked up to him and said, "If you stand here, she won't come out immediately." After saying that, he sat back in his original position.
Ji Xin paused for a few seconds and finally sat down on the other side of the sofa.
Ji Xin looked at Lin Jiu who was peeling shrimp and said, "Thank you for telling me where Wen Min is."
Lin Jiu cleanly peeled the last crayfish, placed the meat on a clean plate, and said without turning back, "Wen Min agreed to it herself."
Hearing this, Ji Xin's pupils shrank. He got enough information from this sentence: Wen Min's attitude had softened and he had calmed down a lot.
A few seconds later, Wen Min opened the bedroom door and stood there beautifully, her hands on her waist, and said imposingly: "Ji Xin, come here, let's talk."
Ji Xin stood up and looked at Wen Min. After confirming her safety, he breathed a sigh of relief. Then his face darkened, and the coldness in his eyes deepened.
He was angry at her behavior of disappearing when she disagreed with him. Even though he knew that she had softened her attitude and showed signs of changing her ways, he still couldn't help but suppress his anger.
Wen Min knew he would be angry, but she hadn't expected him to be this angry. It was like falling into an icy cave. Suddenly, realizing that things were going badly, she tried to signal Lin Jiu with her eyes for help, but Lin Jiu waved his hands and shook his head, saying he had no idea what to do and told her to fend for herself.
Wen Min gritted her teeth and looked at Ji Xin who was approaching her. After a heavy snort in a bluffing manner, she turned around and went back to her room.
Ji Xin quickly followed him into the room and closed the door.
Lin Jiu originally wanted to listen to the noise and provide support at any time, but when he thought about the excellent sound insulation here, he gave up the idea.
She picked up the shrimp plate on the table and sat next to Chen Miao, holding it in front of him: "I peeled the shrimp for you, try it."
Chen Miao glanced at the neatly arranged shrimps, tilted his head and said with a smile, "Feed me."
"Are you going to eat or not?"
"...You feed me, and I'll eat."
“…”
Lin Jiu didn't indulge him, "If you don't want to eat it, forget it, I'll eat it myself."
She picked up her chopsticks and was about to eat, but the plate was taken away by Chen Miao. "I will definitely eat the shrimp you peeled for me, so as not to waste your kindness."
Lin Jiu rolled his eyes at him, shoved the chopsticks into his hand, and instructed, "After you finish eating, wash the dishes and put them in the cupboard."
After saying that, she cleaned up the garbage on the coffee table and went to the bathroom to clean herself up.
When he returned to the living room, Chen Miao had already finished eating. Seeing Lin Jiu, he opened his arms and said, "Come."
Lin Jiu took small steps like a little penguin, found a suitable position in his arms, and leaned against him to watch TV.
More than ten minutes later, Wen Min and Ji Xin still hadn't come out.
Lin Jiu rested his head on Chen Miao's shoulder and asked curiously, "When do you think they will come out?"
"About half an hour."
"Really? It takes so long?" After a few seconds, Lin Jiu shook his head and said, "You have no experience, so your decision doesn't count."
Chen Miao raised his eyebrows, "You don't believe me, and you still ask me?"
"Let me ask you what's wrong!" She said as she tried to get out of his arms.
Chen Miao smiled and tightened his arm around her. "My parents usually quarrel and reconcile around this time. You'll be right to trust me."
Seeing that he had a reference, Lin Jiu silently shut his mouth and nestled in his arms without moving.
-
Half an hour later.
Wen Min and Ji Xin left the room.
The four of them discussed it and went to a nearby Chinese restaurant to have a meal.
Wen Min was in Gimhae for the first time and was very curious about the city. After eating, he wanted to experience the nightlife.
Lin Jiu was very supportive and took Wen Min to the nearest check-in spot for a stroll, shopping and eating as they went, having a blast. As for Chen Miao and Ji Xin, they followed behind, acting as their mascots, without any say, but just carrying bags and protecting them.
Around ten o'clock.
Both of them began to ache in their heels.
Fortunately, the two were already near the hotel.
When passing by a barbecue stall by the river, Wen Min smelled the fragrance, his saliva kept secreting, and he stared at the skewers in other people's hands.
Wen Min stopped and suggested to Lin Jiu beside him: "How about eating something and taking a rest?"
Lin Jiu stopped and looked at the barbecue stall for a few seconds. The store was clean and there were not many customers, so it was indeed a good place to stop and sit.
So she immediately nodded in agreement: "Okay, eat something else."
After that, the two of them walked into the barbecue restaurant arm in arm, ordered several of the restaurant's signature barbecues, and selected some vegetarian dishes. Roughly speaking, there were more than twenty items.
Wen Min felt that eating barbecue alone was not enough, so he waved his hand and said to the boss, "Four more bottles of ice beer."
Lin Jiu thought about his alcohol tolerance for those three glasses, frowned, and was about to ask Wen Min to order a few fewer bottles.
Ji Xin next to him suddenly coughed lightly.
After hearing Ji Xin's voice, Wen Min's eyes twitched, and he took a deep breath. He immediately reached out and called out to the boss who was about to turn and leave: "Two bottles! Just give us two bottles of beer."
Lin Jiu silently turned his head to look at Wen Min who was immediately scared, and the corners of his mouth rose unconsciously.
Wen Min saw her gloating smile and glared at her unhappily. Lin Jiu turned to face Chen Miao and smiled even more happily.
Wen Min was furious, feeling completely humiliated. He reached out and punched Ji Xin, but the blow wasn't strong enough, and he easily blocked it with his palm.
Ji Xin said expressionlessly: "You can't drink much."
Wen Min said angrily, "I didn't say I drank that much alone."
Lin Jiu calmed down a bit, regained his composure, and asked Wen Min curiously, "So how did you originally plan to distribute it?"
As soon as she said this, the other two people looked at Wen Min, as if waiting for her answer.
Wen Min lowered his head and rolled his eyes, then hesitantly said, "One bottle per person...just right."
Lin Jiu: “…”
Ji Xin snorted coldly to express his dissatisfaction.
Chen Miao raised his eyebrows and said calmly, "I don't like beer."
Hearing this, Lin Jiu looked at him and asked, "Will you drink later? Without you, the fighting power at the table will be reduced by half."
Chen Miao was about to speak when Wen Min grabbed Lin Jiu to attract her attention, "It's okay, I can at least drink a bottle!"
Ji Xin glanced at him coldly. Wen Min met his gaze directly, and after holding on for three seconds, she compromised and said, "...half a bottle, no less."
In a flash, she thought of something and said to Lin Jiu, "We each drink half a bottle, and give the other bottle to Ji Xin. He can drink it."
Ji Xin remained silent.
Seeing this, Lin Jiu immediately said, "It's okay if you can't finish it. Just take it back to the hotel and put it in the refrigerator. You can continue drinking it tomorrow."
Wen Min's eyes lit up, "That's a good idea."
Chen Miao: "No need to take it back. I remember there's beer in the refrigerator. You can have as much as you want."
Wen Min: "..."
Lin Jiu glared at Chen Miao and taught him, "Don't waste it."
Chen Miao spread his hands and said, "Okay."
This barbecue took a long time to eat.
Wen Min and Lin Jiu were the kind of people who looked fierce in the early stages but had insufficient endurance. After they had satisfied their appetite, they slowed down.
Boys have big appetites and eat more.
Most of the food was given to Ji Xin and Chen Miao.
Although Chen Miao said that he didn't like drinking beer, he and Lin Jiu still drank a few glasses and finished half a bottle.
When there was still a plate of mutton skewers and half a bottle of beer left on the table, Wen Min said to the two boys, "You two have been following us all the time. It's hard for Lin Jiu and I to chat. Go to the riverside and get some fresh air. Don't bother us."
Ji Xin frowned and said nothing.
Chen Miao sat there motionless, "You two are still chatting behind our backs. What sensitive topic? Even my boyfriend can't listen?"
"......" Wen Min had a headache. He really couldn't control the two great gods.
Lin Jiu reached out and patted Chen Miao's leg, saying with a forced smile, "Go outside and get some fresh air to sober up."
Chen Miao raised his eyebrows, squeezed her hand, stood up from the stool, looked down at Ji Xin and said, "Let's go, sober up."
Ji Xin glanced at Wen Min, as if seeing through her little thoughts, and warned her: "Drink less."
Wen Min nodded obediently.
Afterwards, Ji Xin caught up with Chen Miao.
The two of them went to the railing by the river, one in front and one behind.
