Chapter 69 "Daily Life During Pregnancy" (Part 1)...
Chapter Sixty-Nine: Pregnancy ==
In April in the capital, the weather was clear and the peach blossoms in the courtyard were in full bloom. After returning from Nanqiong, the Prince Cheng's Zixia Palace planted another type of flower, the peony.
Everyone knows why peonies were planted: because the lady of the house loved peony flowers.
The Emperor is ill and Crown Prince Xiao Yu has taken over the reins of government. The court officials, led by the Duke of Xie's family, have chosen to support His Highness the Crown Prince. Due to the change in the court situation, there are more and more rumors circulating about His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Crown Princess. Of course, these are all good rumors.
That day, the Seventh Princess arrived at Prince Cheng's residence in a carriage, carrying a large stack of storybooks, ostensibly to help Su Wanyue pass the time. Su Wanyue casually flipped through one and found one featuring them as the main characters. The words inside were extremely explicit and tender. Su Wanyue slammed the storybook shut, then picked up the plum juice on the table and drank it. A faint redness appeared at the corners of her eyes. For some reason, her body seemed to have changed a bit lately, especially at night.
Su Wanyue was easily embarrassed, and thinking that she could just bear it, she didn't make a fuss.
Seeing the contents of the storybook, she felt unwell all over. The woman frowned slightly, forcibly suppressing the discomfort that welled up inside her. She smiled and said to the Seventh Princess, "Seventh Sister wanted to go to the Water Pavilion to listen to opera the other day, so why don't I accompany you today?"
The Seventh Princess had wanted to go to the Water Fetching Pavilion to watch the opera for a long time, but she usually had no one to accompany her. Hearing this, her eyes lit up, but after a moment, her eyelids drooped and she whispered, "But if my brother finds out that I took my sister-in-law to the Water Fetching Pavilion to watch the opera, he will definitely be angry."
Ever since his sister-in-law's identity was revealed and she became pregnant, his brother has been doting on her like she's his own eyeball, unable to take his eyes off her for a moment. To be honest, the Seventh Princess is a bit too much.
Su Wanyue smiled helplessly. She wasn't fragile glass. She suggested taking a few more guards with her. The Seventh Princess thought about it and agreed. She stepped forward, took Su Wanyue's arm, and said happily, "Then, sister-in-law, let's go."
Just as they entered the water-fetching pavilion, they saw a familiar face – Zhou Heng. Zhou Heng was also startled when he saw them. He put away his folding fan and walked towards them. Qin'er curtsied, "This servant greets Lord Zhou."
"I have met the Crown Princess." Zhou Heng closed his folding fan in his palm and glanced at the girl's face. "Greetings, Your Highness the Crown Princess."
Although they both lived in the capital, Zhou Heng hadn't seen the girl for over two months. She had spent more than half a month in Nanqiong with the Crown Prince of Beili. Since the First Prince was exiled to the northern desert and the Empress's family was wiped out, the capital was peaceful. Knowing that she was doing well, Zhou Heng had no worries.
When the Seventh Princess saw Zhou Heng, she smiled and asked, "Lord Zhou, are you also here to listen to the music?"
Zhou Heng glanced at Su Wanyue and smiled, "Yes."
Seeing this, the Seventh Princess invited Zhou Heng to sit down and watch. They did not go to the private room upstairs today, but sat on the bench on the first floor. The waiter brought melon seeds and tea, and the sound of opera was like a gentle spring rain, lingering and tender.
They sat in the water-fetching pavilion for the entire afternoon. In the evening, they parted ways at the entrance of the pavilion. When they returned to the Prince Cheng's residence, the steward greeted them, "Your Highness, the Crown Princess, His Highness has returned and is in the Zixia Palace."
Su Wanyue nodded gently and took Qin'er to the Zixia Palace. She saw Mo Yu and the others waiting outside. Su Wanyue went in alone. The man was flipping through the storybook she had casually put down before she left. He was reading it very seriously. "Your Highness."
"Why aren't you calling me 'husband' today?" Xiao Yu casually put down his storybook, got up and came to his wife. He touched her slightly flushed cheeks, and his phoenix eyes narrowed involuntarily.
"My husband."
Xiao Yu chuckled, "Did Wanwan meet Lord Zhou today?"
Su Wanyue glared at him; he was just being jealous for no reason. "I only met Lord Zhou by chance."
"That's quite a coincidence." Xiao Yu raised an eyebrow, his expression unreadable.
He knew exactly what Zhou Heng was thinking. He blamed his wife for being too good, because there were always others who coveted her.
He kept being sarcastic and unfriendly, and Su Wanyue didn't want to pay attention to him. Seeing this, Xiao Yu restrained himself, pinched the bridge of his nose, and picked her up in his arms, asking, "Are you feeling unwell anywhere today?"
His wife was four months pregnant. Early in the morning, the imperial physician took her pulse and asked if she felt unwell. His wife said no, but Xiao Yu's intuition told him that she wasn't telling the truth.
Xiao Yu's fingertips unconsciously stroked his wife's eyebrows and eyes. Suddenly, an idea came to him. His eyes became deep for a moment, and his Adam's apple bobbed violently.
Knowing his wife was shy, Xiao Yu simply didn't ask. He laid her flat on the kang (a heated brick bed), covered with a soft, gold-threaded quilt so as not to hurt her. His wife had red lips and white teeth, snow-white skin and a beautiful face. At this moment, there was a hint of confusion in her eyes. She made a move to get up, but Xiao Yu gently pressed down on her slender wrist and chuckled, "I'll let Wanwan go after I've verified it."
What is he trying to verify...?
Su Wanyue felt that his verification was not a good thing. She flipped her hand and was about to push him away, but Xiao Yu was one step ahead of her. He supported his wife's back with one hand and tore open the sash around her waist with the other. As the woman struggled, her hair became disheveled. She lay on Xiao Yu's chest and breathed softly.
A fine layer of sweat appeared on his wife's forehead, and her cheeks were flushed. Xiao Yu had already sensed that something was wrong with her. He slowly stroked the woman's jade-like neck with his right hand and pressed her whole body into his arms. Su Wanyue's vision went black for a moment. Feeling his violently pounding heartbeat, she nervously clung to his shoulder.
Xiao Yu gently patted her back with one hand, while sensing her intentions. The woman straightened her back and her fingers curled tightly together. Xiao Yu kissed her earlobe and said, "Relax."
He reminded her in a hoarse voice that she was so nervous that he could hardly move. Su Wanyue's earlobe was the most sensitive part of her body. Taking advantage of her moment of distraction, Xiao Yu gently pushed his fingertip forward and scratched it.
As dusk fell, there were no lamps in the palace, and the dim light made it difficult to see clearly, but hearing and senses became more acute. Xiao Yu rubbed his fingertips together and felt the dampness; it was his wife's water.
Her body became more sensitive. Xiao Yu slowly wiped his slender fingertips with a handkerchief, then lowered his head to kiss his wife's lips. He soothingly unbuttoned her undergarments. Because of her pregnancy, the woman's lower abdomen was slightly protruding, and her skin was delicate and smooth. Xiao Yu's cool, slender fingers caressed her lower abdomen inch by inch upwards until they touched her chest. The cool touch made the woman shudder. She made a "hmm" sound, her brows furrowed, and a layer of sweat appeared on her forehead, clearly indicating that she was uncomfortable.
So she had been enduring it. Xiao Yu's gaze darkened slightly. He gently bit his wife's lips, prying open her teeth. The scent of ambergris and fruit intertwined. His other hand was not idle either, caressing his wife's chest as if playing with a plump lychee.
The woman's almond-shaped eyes were hazy like mist, her hair half-disheveled, and her soft moans were all swallowed by the man. Gradually, the woman's tightly furrowed brows relaxed, and she looked at him with her almond-shaped eyes full of water. Xiao Yu's heart softened, and he kissed her watery eyes again.
His long, slender fingers gently caressed her left breast.
But the heat inside the hall was steadily increasing, unable to conceal the enchanting scenery.
He stared intently at that patch of snow-white skin, his gaze gradually hardening. He looked up at his wife and asked gently, "Does it hurt a lot?"
Su Wanyue grabbed his hem and whispered, "It doesn't hurt, it's just a little swollen."
Xiao Yu's temples throbbed violently. If he didn't know what kind of person his wife was, he would have mistakenly thought she was seducing him.
Xiao Yu closed his eyes, suppressing the desire between his brows. Seeing his wife's furrowed brows relax, he pulled her onto his lap and casually asked, "Why didn't Wanwan say anything before?"
He wouldn't have cared before, but now he doesn't want his wife to hide anything from him. "We're husband and wife, and Wanwan isn't feeling well, yet she's deliberately hiding it from me. Does Wanwan have something she can't say, or does she not consider me her husband?"
His tone rose slightly, and although he was questioning, his voice was gentle.
Su Wanyue didn't know what reason to give him for a moment. She blinked her almond-shaped eyes, grabbed his collar, and kissed his profile, trying to refuse to answer in this way.
But men are very susceptible to her charms. His wife's initiative made Xiao Yuwei raise an eyebrow. He smiled and said, "The imperial physician said that when a woman is pregnant, her desire for sexual pleasure is even greater, which is quite normal. So Wanwan, don't be shy. If you feel uncomfortable, just say so."
As her husband, he was willing to help her share the burden.
"I see."
Xiao Yu glanced at her and added appropriately, "The imperial physician also said that it's okay to have sex after three months."
As Su Wanyue listened, she felt a surge of heat rising within her, her cheeks flushed and her neck turning red. She bit her lip slightly and said, "Your Highness, please don't tempt me any further."
Xiao Yu chuckled softly, letting out a "good" from his throat. Then he lowered his head. Before Su Wanyue could react, she felt a chill on her chest. The intense stimulation made Su Wanyue breathe heavily, and her eyes reddened. She hugged his neck tightly.
After an unknown amount of time, Xiao Yu finally released his wife. He was impeccably dressed, tall and elegant, and even managed to ask the woman in a gentle tone, "Are you still feeling unwell?"
In comparison, Su Wanyue was much more disheveled than him. She quickly shook her head, genuinely afraid that he would come again. Xiao Yu smiled and helped her straighten her clothes, saying, "Let's have our meal first."
The people outside were already waiting. Upon hearing their master's order, they filed in one after another. They pretended not to have heard anything. One exquisite dish after another was served. As soon as Su Wanyue went down, she felt like she was walking on cotton and almost fell. Seeing this, Xiao Yu picked her up and put her on a chair.
Everyone was already used to it; who in the capital didn't know that His Highness and the Crown Princess had a good relationship? His Highness and the Crown Princess were the epitome of a good relationship in the capital.
Su Wanyue scooped up a sip of rose and lychee drink and asked Xiao Yu, "The wedding of the Third Miss of the Xie State Duke and General Mu is in a few days. Madam Xie sent me an invitation. Will you go, husband?"
Xiao Yu didn't seem to care much about these things. "Does Wanwan want to go?"
Su Wanyue nodded gently.
Xiao Yu picked up a piece of drunken shrimp for her, "Then let's go."
As usual, after the meal, Xiao Yu accompanied his wife for a walk in the courtyard. When they returned, Su Wanyue was carrying two peony flowers. She put the flowers in a jade vase and, seeing that Xiao Yu was still there, asked curiously, "Isn't Your Highness going to take a bath?"
Xiao Yu gave her a meaningful look. "How about Wanwan comes with me?"
