Chapter 8, "Sleep."

Chapter 8, "Sleep."

==Chapter 8: Appetite==

Su Wanyue stared blankly at the person standing in front of her, then sat up from the chaise longue, wrapped in the quilt. Her long, black hair cascaded down to her waist as she moved. Su Wanyue softly called out to him, "Your Highness."

Xiao Yu sat down beside her, making no intimate gestures, and simply asked, "Dinner wasn't to your liking?"

He saw the food that the servants had cleared away. Su Wanyue blinked her watery eyes gently and said in a soft voice that she probably ate too many pastries in the afternoon and didn't have much of an appetite.

Xiao Yu smiled but didn't say anything; she was very polite to him.

Xiao Yu's lips curled slightly, and he asked casually, "But I haven't eaten yet. Would the Princess Consort be willing to have a little more with me?"

Qingyi glanced at her master with some surprise. Didn't His Highness just have dinner in the study? Her master had only come to the main room to rest today and had no intention of having dinner with the Princess Consort.

Since he had already spoken, Su Wanyue naturally complied. She forced herself to cheer up and, after settling into her lodgings, sat down with Xiao Yu on a round stool. The kitchen staff then brought out an exquisite meal.

Su Wanyue ate two pieces of pastry and a bowl of soup, while the man who said he hadn't eaten only ate half a bowl of soup. If Su Wanyue still didn't understand his meaning at this point, she would seem rather dull. She glanced at the handsome man beside her, who spoke at that moment: "Your Highness is skilled in dancing."

Su Wanyue was quite accomplished in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting. She was about to say the word "can" without thinking, but then she remembered that her cousin had never liked dancing. She moved her lips and said softly, "To be honest, I am not good at dancing."

Xiao Yu glanced at her and asked if she knew how to play chess. Su Wanyue nodded gently.

Xiao Yurui's phoenix eyes held a deep, unfathomable look, making it difficult to discern his meaning. "Then, Your Highness, please play a game of chess with me."

If we keep making excuses, it might arouse suspicion.

Su Wanyue: "It would be impolite of me to refuse."

The servants quickly brought out the Go set. The pieces were made of fine jade, smooth and translucent to the touch. Xiao Yu played the black pieces, and Su Wanyue played the white pieces. Qingyi and Qin'er were already standing behind their respective masters. Xiao Yu's Go skills had been praised even by the Grand Tutor, and Su Wanyue had been sought out for Go games by the Crown Prince when they were in Nanqiong. Because the two of them knew how skilled their masters were, they were very curious about who would win this game.

Xiao Yu let Su Wanyue go first. Su Wanyue pondered for a moment and placed a white piece in the center of the right side. Xiao Yu followed closely with a black piece, and Su Wanyue then placed a white piece. She placed her piece almost without hesitation. The game was halfway through, and Qingyi and Qin'er watched intently. The chessboard showed a situation where white pieces surrounded black pieces, and Xiao Yu was slightly at a disadvantage. Su Wanyue was thinking about how to proceed when the man spoke unhurriedly: "I will give the princess a one-piece handicap."

Upon hearing this, Su Wanyue placed two white pieces in quick succession, both around the black pieces. This made it seem even more like Xiao Yu was at a disadvantage. Xiao Yu smiled gently and placed his piece on the far right of the board, choosing not to surround her white pieces. The sky outside the window gradually darkened, and the gentle spring breeze felt pleasant. As the game progressed, it was almost a 50/50 situation, with the black and white pieces intertwined. Qingyi began to calculate, and Xiao Yu gave Su Wanyue a deep look.

In the end, it was calculated that Xiao Yu won by one point against Su Wanyue, which was exactly what Qingyi didn't understand. Clearly, the Princess Consort had the upper hand in the entire game, but in the end, His Highness still won.

Su Wanyue smiled gently, her eyes sparkling, "Your Highness has won."

Wasn't it her painstaking efforts to make him win?

Xiao Yu's lips curled into a half-smile. He lowered his eyes and took a sip of tea. He found his princess consort quite interesting. She clearly had no romantic feelings for him, yet she still tried so hard to please him. If she had any ulterior motives, she was now a princess consort. If she had no ulterior motives, was her flattery because she loved him?

For the first time, Xiao Yu couldn't figure out a woman's thoughts, which he found quite interesting.

Seeing his indifferent expression, Su Wanyue assumed he was unhappy because he had only won slightly. She carefully chose her words, "Would Your Highness like to play another round?"

She doesn't understand anything...

For some reason, Xiao Yu suddenly lost interest. "It's getting late, let's rest."

"Go and help His Highness wash up."

Upon learning that she would be serving His Highness during his washing up, the little maid blushed and was about to follow him when Xiao Yu frowned and said indifferently, "No need."

Qin'er changed Su Wanyue's bowl of bird's nest soup. She felt that His Highness seemed to be in a bad mood today, so she asked Su Wanyue in a low voice, "Your Highness, is His Highness angry?"

Su Wanyue looked bewildered. Hadn't he just won? How could there be someone in this world who gets angry after winning a game of chess?

Su Wanyue couldn't understand it. She rested her chin on her hand and looked out the window at the night. It was the middle of the night, and the moon hanging in the sky was very round, like a silver plate.

After an incense stick had burned, Xiao Yu came out of the bathroom. Qin'er hurriedly helped Su Wanyue to take a bath. When she came out, the woman was wearing a thin peony pink gauze dress, her figure graceful, like a lotus emerging from the water.

Xiao Yu was reading "The Strategies of Governing the Country" when he saw her come out. He casually tossed the book aside and blew out the candle.

A faint fragrance emanating from the woman lingered around Xiao Yu's nose. Xiao Yu reached out and pulled her into his arms. Su Wanyue's slender body stiffened at first, then relaxed.

Xiao Yu wrapped his long arm around her waist, lowered his head, and breathed hotly on Su Wanyue's neck. The room was dim, and Xiao Yu couldn't see the woman's expression, but he could sense her nervousness. Her breathing was obviously a little rapid. Xiao Yu's lips curved into a smile, and his fingertips gently caressed her earlobe, as if he were whispering sweet nothings in her ear, "Aren't you used to it yet?"

Su Wanyue stiffened, her back breaking out in a sweat. "I'm just a little nervous."

nervous……

Xiao Yu remained noncommittal to the answer. While caressing her small earlobe, he took her delicate lips into his mouth, his long tongue plunging in to savor the sweetness and fragrance between her lips and teeth. The room was filled with the faint scent of agarwood incense. Su Wanyue's mind was hazy. She let out a soft sob and gently pushed Xiao Yu's body. Her whole body was burning hot.

At this moment, how could the man let her go? With a flick of his finger, her thin gauze dress was torn to shreds, revealing her delicate, snow-white skin. A chill ran through her, causing her skin to flush pink.

The man's thin lips kissed her all the way down her neck, chest, and abdomen, leaving no place untouched. Su Wanyue's almond-shaped eyes were glazed over, her chest heaving, and she breathed heavily.

Only then did the man leisurely begin to enjoy the evening's meal.

He lowered his head again and kissed the woman's lips, his fingertips gently and firmly kneading her buttocks. After a long while, he intertwined his fingers with hers, and their lower bodies were tightly connected.

Su Wanyue let out a soft moan and bit his shoulder hard. Xiao Yu groaned and gently stroked her back, trying to help her relax.

At first, she felt a little full and uncomfortable, but as she gradually relaxed, Su Wanyue's almond-shaped eyes sparkled like water, her gaze filled with spring-like joy.

Seeing that she had gotten used to it, the man explored deeper, causing the woman to tremble and even her calves to shake. She unconsciously hugged Xiao Yu's waist.

The night was still long, and the rain was about to stop. Xiao Yu did not call anyone tonight. Instead, he picked up Su Wanyue and cleaned her up before calling someone in to serve tea.

The maids entered respectfully to serve tea, then tidied the bed. The sweet fragrance of intimacy in the room overpowered the scent of agarwood in the incense burner.

Xiao Yu was a resolute man, not one to be swayed by women, yet tonight he repeatedly lost control, taking her several times against her will. Su Wanyue looked weary and had already closed her eyes, but Xiao Yu's fingers were still gently caressing her delicate shoulder. "Your pink butterfly birthmark..."

Su Wanyue's mind cleared instantly. "This is a birthmark I've had since I was a child."

Fortunately, only her close relatives knew about her birthmark; otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable. Her cousin had no birthmarks, and although they had similar features, their appearances were completely different. Now that her cousin had been found, they couldn't quietly switch her back. If she made a single wrong move and someone found out she wasn't the real Princess Weiyang, not only would she die, but a whole group of people would be implicated.

Su Wanyue's slender, pale fingers unconsciously gripped Xiao Yu's chest, trying to ease the tension.

She shouldn't have revealed any flaws.

Under the quilt of mandarin ducks and the curtains of hibiscus, her nominal "husband" looked at her with his delicate and beautiful eyes. The atmosphere was supposed to be one of perfect harmony and tender romance, but Su Wanyue was so nervous that she didn't know what to do and didn't even dare to look Xiao Yu in the eye.

The next moment, Xiao Yu's thin lips landed on her butterfly birthmark, causing a tingling sensation.

Su Wanyue thought he wanted it again, so she gently bit her lip. But he looked at her deeply and said in an ambiguous tone, "Your Highness's chess skills tonight are superb. I admire them."

He must have figured something out. Su Wanyue frowned slightly. "Not as good as Your Highness."

The couple stood naked, their skin pressed together. The man's long arms held the woman tightly in his embrace, his lips brushing against her earlobe. If one ignored the fact that there was no love in their eyes at that moment, they would truly appear to be a loving couple.

Xiao Yu gently stroked the pink butterfly birthmark on her back with his long, slender fingers, then closed his eyes and said, "Sleep."

Su Wanyue finally breathed a sigh of relief and soon fell into a deep sleep.

Xiao Yu had already entered the court and went to court before dawn every day. However, since the Prince Cheng's mansion had no concubines, Su Wanyue did not need to wait for people to come and pay their respects early. Therefore, every day when Su Wanyue got up, it was already bright outside.

Just as Su Wanyue finished her breakfast, the steward walked in with a smile: "This servant greets Your Highness, the Seventh Princess has arrived."

He shifted his slightly plump body to the side, and the Seventh Princess, dressed in an elegant gown and adorned with jewels, jumped in front of her, calling out sweetly, "Sister-in-law."
