It was already late at night when the plane landed in the capital.

Wen Sheng opened the door and looked at the warm furnishings of the house, feeling a sudden sense of relaxation.

"Finally back." She took off her shoes, walked into the living room, and collapsed onto the fabric sofa, hugging a cushion and sighing.

Xu Jianing put down his luggage, walked over and sat down next to her, and asked in a low voice, "Are you tired?"

"Hmm, I've been so tense these past few days, and now that I've suddenly relaxed, I feel so tired." Wen Sheng rested her head on his shoulder, rubbing against him to find the most comfortable position.

Xu Jianing chuckled and reached out to ruffle her hair: "If you keep rubbing against me, I'll fall asleep."

"Then I'll go to sleep. You'll carry me back to the bedroom anyway," she said, feigning innocence with her eyes closed.

"You're getting lazier and lazier," he said with a laugh.

"Who told you to spoil him like that?" Wen Sheng muttered.

The living room was quiet, with only the ticking of the clock on the wall. The two of them snuggled together on the sofa, covered with a blanket.

After a while, Wen Sheng suddenly opened her eyes, looked up at him, and met his gaze.

Xu Jianing lowered his head and met her gaze.

"What's wrong?" he asked softly.

When do you think Brother Changshui will get better?

"I want Li Changshui to get better more than anyone else, preferably tomorrow," Xu Jianing said earnestly.

Wen Sheng sensed an unusual expectation in his tone. Recalling what she had said to Li Changshui in the hospital room, her eyes widened slightly, and she asked in surprise, "Could it be that you?!"

"Yes. I hope Miss Wen can give me a formal status."

"What title? Aren't you already my boyfriend?"

"Of course—the title of fiancé." Xu Jianing leaned close to her ear, freeing his hand to pinch Wen Sheng's waist, making her listen attentively.

Startled by his sudden action, Wen Sheng shrank back, her eyes wide as she stammered, "You, you, you, don't touch me! This is coercion!"

"So, will you agree or not?" he asked with a smile, his fingertips still lingering on her waist.

Wen Sheng grabbed his hand, which was reaching deeper and deeper, her breath slightly ragged, "I...I already agreed!"

"Really?" Xu Jianing raised an eyebrow. "I don't remember."

“When we were in the hospital, didn’t I tell Brother Changshui that we would invite him to our wedding banquet once he got better…” she said.

"Oh, that one."

He deliberately dragged out his words, his hand continuing downwards, "But isn't that just you trying to make him happy?"

Wen Sheng was in a state of confusion because of his actions. She wanted to pull away, but she couldn't bear to.

This technique is so skillful and comfortable.

He moved closer, his breath brushing against her neck, and whispered, "What if I take it seriously?"

"Let's go back to the bedroom." Wen Sheng closed her eyes and accepted the invitation. She was already at the mercy of the situation and couldn't escape no matter what.

Xu Jianing smiled, stood up, bent down and picked her up horizontally.

Wen Sheng hugged his neck, buried her head in his chest, and whispered, "I really want to marry you, I'm not just trying to coax him."

"Um?"

“I said!” She raised her head, about to repeat herself, but was interrupted by Xu Jianing.

"Before you even spoke, I had already told him, 'When I marry her, the first toast will be to you.'"

"What should I do, Wen Xuemei? I beat you to it again." Xu Jianing said with a mischievous smile.

Wen Sheng angrily punched his chest muscle, "Then why were you pretending not to know just now! And you even asked me if I agreed!"

"Because Wen's anxious look is especially cute." Xu Jianing gently placed her on the bed and admitted it with a sense of righteous indignation.

During the journey, Wen Sheng suddenly shed a few tears.

Xu Jianing assumed she was crying because of the pain, so he immediately stopped what he was doing and leaned over to ask urgently, "What's wrong? Are you in too much pain? Should I come out first?"

She shook her head, bent over and hugged him tightly, sobbing softly, "I'm so happy..."

Xu Jianing was stunned by her words. He originally wanted to tease her a bit, but his mind had already lost its rationality.

"Shall I continue?" he said breathlessly, waiting for permission before pushing the situation further out of control.

After a long, long time, everything returned to calm.

Wen Sheng nestled in Xu Jianing's arms, complaining weakly, "Xu Jianing, you big liar."

"Um."

You said it would end soon.

"I remember it was one less time than last time."

Wen Sheng couldn't continue talking; she was too tired from his antics and quickly fell asleep.

Xu Jianing looked at her sleeping face and leaned down to kiss her forehead.

Goodnight, my fiancée.
