Chapter 44 The Cold and Handsome Fourth Prince
Back to the point, Sheng Sheng's seamless communication with Xiao Bai, in the eyes of others, was just like a princess talking to a white cat, and then the white cat meowing.
You might think the princess was just talking to herself, but when she told the cat to come down, the cat actually did.
Moreover, the princess's words didn't sound like she was talking to herself; rather, it sounded like she was having a lively conversation with the cat.
This left a group of people dumbfounded.
Old Cat and Old Fish had served in the military, and although they were surprised, they remained calm.
But Chunhua and Qiuyue were just girls under twenty, and they couldn't help but ask Zijuan, "Zijuan, is our princess...chatting with a cat?"
"I don't know either."
Zijuan was also stunned. She remembered how easily the princess had driven away the bees yesterday.
And yesterday, it was a flock of sparrows that held back the assassin, preventing the princess from being harmed.
Could it be that the princess has something special about her that makes these animals treat her so specially?
“By the way, when the princess was born, all the birds were singing. Could it be that the princess was born with a natural affinity for animals?” Zijuan had a sudden inspiration.
Zijuan looked at her princess with eyes full of admiration.
That must be it!
Spring Blossoms and Autumn Moon didn't hear clearly: "Zijuan, what did you say?"
"Oh, it's nothing!"
Seeing the group discussing, Old Cat and Old Fish couldn't help but join in.
"Could it be that this cat just likes to be close to people, and the princess is a child? Aren't cats and dogs mostly fond of children?"
“Old Cat, you’re right,” Old Fish nodded, teasingly adding, “But you’re called Old Cat, so why isn’t this cat friendly to you?”
The old cat punched him: "You old fish, why don't you just say that if you call yourself Old Fish, this cat will eat you!"
The group burst into laughter.
Zijuan shook her head: "This cat is from the Empress Dowager's palace. I heard that it is pampered and arrogant, even more so than the noble ladies in the harem. It doesn't easily get close to people."
Only then did the group realize that this was the imperial cat from the Cining Palace.
"That's strange. Could it be that the princess can understand the cat and communicate with it?"
The group was completely baffled. Sheng Sheng squeezed into their midst, tilting her little face up and asking, "What are you talking about? Why didn't you take Sheng Sheng with you?"
The group quickly scattered, saying, "There's no princess!"
Zijuan said, "Princess, there's a pavilion over there. It's still an hour before Wenhua Hall's get out of class ends. Shall we go and wait in that pavilion?"
"OK."
Sheng Sheng nodded with a smile, then struggled to carry Xiao Bai towards the pavilion.
"Xiaobai, why don't you get down and walk by yourself? Shengsheng's arms are so sore."
Little White said haughtily, "No, I like it when you hold me, it's comfortable."
Sheng Sheng said with distress, "But you're so heavy, I can't carry you."
Little White leaped down in a flash, shaking off her and running quickly into the pavilion, his slightly embarrassed and angry voice echoing in the air: "Who said I'm heavy!"
Sheng Sheng was amused and couldn't stop giggling.
The group had just arrived at a pavilion outside the west side of the Wenhua Hall, and were about to wait in the pavilion for the class to end when they suddenly heard a burst of laughter.
It was a bit noisy, but because they were only separated from them by a wall, everyone could hear it clearly.
Sheng Sheng hesitated for a moment, then turned back and peeked inside from the corner of the wall.
Thank you for listening quietly online.
"Hey, were you deliberately embarrassing His Highness the Crown Prince just now?"
"Your Highness, he definitely did it on purpose! He knew you weren't good at memorizing, so he deliberately recited it so fluently after you were scolded by the Grand Tutor for not being able to recite it!"
"Exactly, exactly! He's so immature. He memorized the whole thing, and so fluently, as if he were so smart. Isn't that just embarrassing you?"
"That's right!"
The most arrogant man in the middle of the three men, upon hearing this, slapped each of them with his folding fan: "Stop, stop, stop! What do you mean by that? Are you saying that I, the young master, am not smart and cannot recite my lessons?"
"Oh dear, Your Highness, I had no such intention!"
"That's right, that's right, we didn't mean that, Your Highness!"
The group of people explained in a haphazard, halting manner, which inexplicably gave off a silly vibe.
"Alright, alright, all of you shut up for me."
Xie Yubin frowned and impatiently gestured for the others to step back. His upturned, almond-shaped eyes scrutinized the boy in the wheelchair in front of him.
The boy had fair skin, handsome features, and an exceptionally refined appearance.
Perhaps because he was in a wheelchair, he looked somewhat sickly.
Her long hair was tied up with a blue crown, and a blanket was covered on her legs. Although she was sitting, she was much shorter than the people standing in front of her, but her back was straight and she did not show any fear.
She exclaimed softly, "Wow, what a handsome and aloof young man!"
Although the boy was fair-skinned, he was not effeminate; rather, his fair complexion perfectly suited his appearance.
Xie Yubin swaggered forward a couple of steps with his hands behind his back, bent down, and smiled at the man in the wheelchair in front of him.
"My lord, you truly live up to your title as the Fourth Prince of our Great Yu Kingdom! Not only do you recite these articles fluently, but you also write poems with ease!"
His sarcastic tone makes it seem like Xie Yubin is consumed by jealousy!
Xie Yunwen remained indifferent, ignoring the spoiled young men blocking his way, and turned his wheelchair, attempting to leave.
Xie Yubin waved his hand, and immediately someone stepped on one of the wheels of the wheelchair, rendering Xie Yunwen unable to move.
Qin Xiang stepped on it for a while, then let go. Xie Yunwen was about to turn it around when Qin Xiang stepped on it again.
After this happened several times, Xie Yunwen finally showed anger on his face and parted his thin lips slightly: "What do you want to do?"
"Your Highness, don't be in such a hurry to leave." Xie Yubin smiled amusedly. "Your Highness is only twelve years old this year, right? That's a year younger than me. Speaking of which, Your Highness should call me cousin. What, can't I even show some concern for my younger cousin?"
Xie Yunwen looked at him coldly: "Get out of the way."
Having been humiliated again, Qin Yubin was a little angry: "Tsk, who do you think you are? A cripple who's been crippled for life. If it weren't for your status as a prince, you'd be nothing!"
Qin Xiang and the others burst into laughter, making no attempt to hide their mockery.
Xie Yunwen tightened her grip on her knees.
Qin Xiang: "Why waste words with him, Your Highness? He's just a cripple. Since he doesn't respect your dignity at all, let's teach him a lesson!"
As he spoke, Qin Xiang rolled up his sleeves and lunged forward, intending to punch him. Xie Yunwen quickly turned the wheelchair around, and the wheelchair suddenly moved backward. Qin Xiang missed his target and fell to the ground.
"Ouch!" Qin Xiang turned around in exasperation.
Qin Xiang turned around, allowing Sheng Sheng to see his face clearly.
The moment she saw Qin Xiang's face clearly, Sheng Sheng felt a strange mix of familiarity and repulsion.
Qin Xiang got up and was about to go forward again when he rushed out.
