The rain intensified, and the water droplets hitting the lake surface looked like a boiling pot.
Master He looked at the empty wooden basin floating on the lake and was as anxious as an ant on a hot oil pan. He immediately took out his tortoise shell, put three copper coins inside, and shook it by the lake to calculate.
Su Haoran, who had been running behind Master He, plunged into the lake and swam vigorously toward the direction where the person had fallen in.
Although he had not yet met Su Miaomiao, he already knew from his grandfather that his elder brother's daughter had returned, which was his niece.
The figure that just fell into the water looked like a girl; it must be his niece, Su Miaomiao.
If something happens to her, wouldn't that be the death of the old couple?
Old Zhong hurriedly shouted for everyone to come and save the person, but unfortunately, none of them arrived in time. He immediately jumped into the water and swam towards the wooden basin.
Grandpa Su and his wife were waiting for Master He to arrive, but Lao Zhong had been out to meet him for quite some time and hadn't seen him return.
"Sir, Madam, Miss has fallen into the lake."
The sound coming from outside startled the elderly couple so much that they immediately stood up.
"What?"
Grandma Su felt a sudden darkness before her eyes, and she swayed and collapsed, only to be quickly supported by the maid beside her.
Grandpa Su swayed a couple of times, but he tried his best to steady himself and ran quickly toward the lake.
Is God really going to cut off the eldest son's family line?
"What exactly happened? How did Miaomiao fall into the water?"
Grandpa Su was breathing rapidly and was extremely anxious.
"Sir, I just heard that the young lady came over quietly. Everyone thought she was drinking milk tea in her own courtyard."
"But don't worry, Mr. Xiaoqi and Butler Zhong went down to rescue her. They are good swimmers, so Miss will definitely be alright."
The maid who came to help immediately comforted him.
But these words did not reassure Grandpa Su. He immediately took off his coat and was about to go into the water to save his granddaughter.
But a hand grabbed his arm, and Old Master Su tried to shake it off, but failed. He turned his head and saw that the person who had stopped him was Master He.
"Master He, I need to save my granddaughter."
Master He shook his head, his gaze fixed intently on Old Master Su's face.
He was right; a layer of ethereal black mist covered Mr. Su's face, something that had never happened before.
No wonder!
Master He thought to himself, and glanced at the lake again, feeling that the person who went into the water was incredibly brave.
In this situation, if you don't have real skills, you'll lose your life here.
"I'll go down and help her."
As Master He spoke, he stepped into the lake.
But in the next instant, the sky cleared, the rain stopped and the clouds dispersed, and the sunlight shone directly down, making the lake surface sparkle and look exceptionally beautiful.
"Splash!"
The sound of water breaking was heard!
Su Miaomiao poked her head out and pulled hard, pulling the unconscious Su Haoran out as well.
"Young Miss, it's Young Miss, and Mr. Xiao Qi too, come quickly to pick them up."
Old Zhong hadn't even reached the destination yet, but upon seeing Su Miaomiao and Su Haoran emerge, he unconsciously swam even faster.
A short while later, the two of them got ashore.
"You child, you're going to scare your grandma to death!"
Grandma Su arrived just in time to see Su Miaomiao emerge from the water. Upon seeing her come ashore, she quickly embraced her.
"hiss!"
Su Miaomiao gasped softly.
"Miaomiao, what's wrong?"
Grandma Su hurriedly checked and found that her right palm was covered in blood and flesh. She immediately screamed in panic:
"Call a doctor quickly, hurry!"
The crowd jostled around Su Miaomiao as she walked back. Su Miaomiao tried to turn her head away, her voice so loud that even the old lady couldn't ignore her.
"Bring the fish, bring the fish! I finally managed to catch it; we'll braise it tonight."
She pointed to a large fish on the ground, which she had brought ashore earlier.
Grandma Su was both amused and exasperated, but also reluctant to scold her, so she could only go along with it and let the maid take the fish back as well.
Grandpa Su was also heartbroken that she was injured, but he also secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, my granddaughter only injured her palm. With some rest and good food, she will recover.
"Sir, let me take Mr. Xiaoqi back to his room first."
Old Zhong, carrying Su Haoran on his back, said to Old Master Su.
When Old Master Su saw his youngest son fall into a coma, his face turned ashen.
What a useless snack!
He actually fainted, and was rescued by his niece. Just how good is he at swimming?
He snorted and strode away, leaving Lao Zhong no choice but to follow.
Master He was the last to arrive, but then he saw that the black dog had also swum to the shore.
The black dog had a thick peach wood sword in its mouth, with red bloodstains on the blade.
Upon seeing this, Master He twitched the corner of his mouth.
There was a big dent on the head of that big fish earlier; could it have been hit by this peach wood sword?
"Little Black, come here quickly!"
Su Miaomiao noticed that Xiao Hei hadn't followed, so she called out to him.
"Woof!"
Little Black shook itself, splashing water all over Master He's body. It didn't even care about the fallen peach wood sword and hurriedly chased after its young master.
Master He took out a handkerchief, wiped the water off his face, and then picked up the peach wood sword.
This is a great product!
Even though it has been used once, its effect of deterring evil spirits remains.
Where did the newly returned young lady of the Su family get this thing?
Master He followed, puzzled.
Su Miaomiao went back to her room to change clothes and treat her wounds, and the old lady naturally followed her out of concern.
