Extra Chapter 1: A Happy Family

The snow fell silently, and in just one night, the entire city was covered with a flawless layer of silver.

In the old Su family house, Grandma Su was sitting in front of a small stove, slowly turning over the sweet potatoes roasting on it. Miao Miao had said before that roasted sweet potatoes in winter were the most delicious, and she had always remembered that. Moreover, these things are best roasted over charcoal to be the most fragrant and sweet.

"Second son, why haven't Miaomiao and the others come back yet?" Grandpa Su put down his brush and asked. He was still waiting for his eldest granddaughter to come back and write Spring Festival couplets!

Su Haolin glanced at his phone and chuckled, "They're on their way back, but there's snow on the road, so they'll be home a little later."

No sooner had he finished speaking than Old Zhong returned and said, "They're back, Miss and the others are back."

The three people inside quickly stood up and went out to greet them.

Upon seeing the elderly couple, Su Miaomiao quickly ran forward and said with a smile, "Grandpa, Grandma, Second Uncle, why are you all out here? It's so cold outside!"

Grandma Su held Su Miaomiao's hand and felt that it was a little cold, which made her feel extremely distressed.

"You silly child, you insisted on going to buy fireworks by yourself in this freezing weather. Look how cold your hands are! Come inside quickly, Grandma has roasted some warm sweet potatoes for you."

Grandma Su pulled Su Miaomiao into the house with a pained expression, while glaring at her sons who had urged their granddaughter to go out in the cold.

"Thank you, Grandma, you're the best!" Su Miaomiao said happily.

Walking behind, Su Haoran touched his nose and glanced at the other two people who had come out together, wanting to see what their expressions were.

Su Yunzhou watched with a smile as Su Miaomiao was led away by Old Madam Su, seemingly unconcerned about being glared at.

Su Hanyi was even more so, and he even ran in front of Su Miaomiao, saying, "I want to choose a big one."

"You brat, you even tried to take this from Miaomiao!" Grandma Su said irritably, but Su Hanyi ran fast enough that she couldn't catch him.

Su Miaomiao giggled, steadily helping the old lady Su walk forward. Actually, she didn't feel cold at all; on the contrary, she felt warm all over.

Today is Lunar New Year's Eve. Although it snowed, the Su family will all return to their old house to celebrate the New Year. Even Su Yanzhong, who usually spends the New Year away from home, made an unprecedented phone call to say that he wanted to come home for the New Year and spend it with his niece.

Grandpa Su walked alongside Su Yunfeng. "Your second and third sisters-in-law are coming back this year too. When are you going to bring one back so we can see her?"

"Dad, I'm still early. You should talk to Fourth Brother first," Su Yunfeng said with a smile.

He's usually very busy working at the hospital and isn't in the mood to find a girlfriend right now.

Grandpa Su didn't insist. He had seven sons, and none of them gave him any peace of mind.

As the group passed by the pond, Su Miaomiao noticed that the water was frozen over and muttered, "I wonder if it's solid. If it is, we can go ice skating."

"Then don't even think about it. People will fall off if they stand on it." Grandma Su didn't want Su Miaomiao to be in danger, so she pulled her away quickly.

Back inside, Su Miaomiao, Su Hanyi, and Su Haoran playfully fought over the roasted sweet potatoes, creating quite a lively scene.

"Miaomiao, come help Grandpa write a couplet for the Spring Festival." Grandpa Su had already laid out the red paper. He even licked the ink off his brush.

"OK!"

Su Miaomiao walked over happily, picked up the brush, thought for a moment, and then wrote golden characters on the red paper.

The first line reads "Harmony and peace bring a hundred blessings to the family," the second line reads "Peace and safety are worth a thousand pieces of gold," and the horizontal scroll reads "Good fortune and happiness."

"Good! Good! Good!" Grandpa Su said "good" three times in a row, which attracted the attention of several uncles.

"Miaomiao, this couplet is beautifully written," Su Haolin praised.

"Thank you for the compliment, Uncle! Where's my Aunt? Wasn't she supposed to be back today?" Su Miaomiao asked curiously.

She had met two of her aunts before, both of whom were exceptionally beautiful and treated her very well. Although her second aunt lived abroad, she often sent her things, and her third aunt lived in the Gobi Desert, but she would call her from time to time.

"She's still on the plane. I'll go to the airport to pick her up later." A tender look flashed in Su Haolin's eyes.

"I'll go with you!"

"What are you going to do? We'll be busy later!" Su Haoran grabbed Su Miaomiao and took her away.

The group started decorating the Su family mansion. Old Zhong was in charge of arranging these things, but Su Haoran, under the guise of "participation is key," brought Su Miaomiao along to help.

Su Miaomiao was overjoyed. In the past, she was always all alone during the New Year, but now she had so many family members with her, and she was extremely grateful!

During the New Year's Eve dinner, Su Miaomiao received gifts from her elders, filled with their best wishes.

Su Haoran wanted her to open the gift now, but she refused. "I want to keep it. I'll open it in my room later. Let's go set off fireworks now!"

The fireworks setup outside was already complete, and Su Miaomiao started her live stream at that moment.

In an instant, the number of viewers in the live stream surged like a tidal wave.

"Happy New Year, my dear Miaomiao!"

"Wow, I never expected my wife to go live today. I'm so touched. It's like celebrating the New Year with my wife."

The audience was very enthusiastic, and they became even more excited after hearing what Su Miaomiao said.

"Let's all watch the fireworks show together today!"

The live stream chat exploded with excitement, and at that moment, Su Miaomiao walked over to Grandma Su's side.

"Grandma, we're watching fireworks!"

In an instant, romantic and beautiful aerial flowers bloomed all over the sky, vying for attention with their vibrant colors, adorning the winter starry sky.
