Chapter 123 So Sweet

When Lu Zichen was called in, he was covered in dirt, as was Ruan Ruan. The yellow dog had suddenly turned into a black dog, all wet.

It looks like it's raining outside.

"Brother!" Lu Zichen rushed towards Lu Ziyin as soon as he pushed open the door.

When Lu Ziyin saw Lu Zichen's dirty appearance, her hair stood on end. She dodged and shouted, "Lu Zichen, stop! Don't move! Don't come any closer!"

"Chenchen, how many times have I told you to change your shoes before entering!" Wen Lan, holding the dog's leash, shouted from behind, a rare occurrence for her.

After being scolded by his mother, Lu Zichen stuck out his tongue guiltily and didn't dare to get too close to Lu Ziyin. He rubbed his hands together and said, "Brother, are you going to invite Brother Chen over next week?"

"..." Lu Ziyin didn't need to guess; she knew exactly what Lu Zichen was thinking.

"Don't even think about it." He wanted to discuss something with Xie Sichen, not for Lu Zichen to be "clingy" with Xie Sichen!

“Brother…” Lu Zichen’s eyes immediately reddened. “I haven’t seen Brother Chen for so long.”

"You have to go to tutoring class that day, so there's no room for discussion!" Cold and ruthless—that's probably the best way to describe Lu Ziyin.

"What are you two brothers talking about? What tutoring class?" Mr. Lu had just received a phone call and was now listening to his two sons talking. The younger son was looking at the older son pitifully, which made him a little curious.

Lu Ziyin ignored her father and started walking towards the restaurant.

"Huh? Why did they leave so suddenly?" Mr. Lu asked in confusion.

Lu Zichen didn't want to pay attention to his father who was causing trouble, so he pouted and quickly followed after him.

Father Lu: "..." Well, he's universally disliked!

At the dinner table, Lu Zichen ate while staring at Lu Ziyin, still trying to win him over with his eyes.

Wen Lan couldn't stand it anymore and tapped the edge of her bowl with her chopsticks, reminding him, "Lu Zichen, eat properly!"

Lu Zichen glanced at Wen Lan and suddenly asked, "Mom, can I skip my tutoring class next weekend?"

"Lu Zichen!" Lu Ziyin was furious. Did this brat want to rebel just to see Xie Sichen?

Mr. Lu paused, his hand still holding the food he was picking up, momentarily confused. What was wrong with the two brothers? Wen Lan glanced at Lu Ziyin first, then said, "It's possible, but you need your teacher's permission first. Have you discussed it with your teacher?"

Lu Ziyin was surprised that Wen Lan would agree to Lu Zichen's unreasonable request. She turned to look at Wen Lan, her eyes filled with incomprehension.

Lu Zichen, however, seemed to have been granted some special privilege and laughed: "I mentioned it to the teacher, and he agreed. He said my calligraphy practice has been quite good lately, so taking a day off occasionally is no problem at all!"

After listening for a while, Mr. Lu roughly understood what the two brothers were talking about. "Since Zichen's calligraphy teacher said he can take a day off, let him rest for a day. Children need to rest too. His overall studies haven't been very good."

Hearing this, Lu Zichen was even happier, "Thank you, Dad!"

Lu Zichen turned to look at Lu Ziyin.

Lu Ziyin: "..."

With Lu Zichen's biological parents agreeing, what else could Lu Ziyin say?

After dinner, Mr. Lu went to his study to continue his work, Wen Lan watched TV in the living room, and Lu Zichen did his homework in his bedroom.

Looking at it this way, it seems that only Lu Ziyin is doing nothing.

With her bag on her back, Lu Ziyin opened the window and glanced outside; it was still raining.

Frowning, Lu Ziyin hesitated: It's so late, and it's raining outside. Can the baby come out?

After closing the window again, Lu Ziyin went downstairs and took a new umbrella from the entrance hall.

Wen Lan was a little worried when she saw Lu Ziyin going out so late. "Ziyin, it's so late, and it's raining outside. Why are you still going out?"

"I have something to do outside, I'll be back later." Afraid that Wen Lan would ask more questions, Lu Ziyin didn't even turn her head before pushing open the door and leaving.

"Hey, then wear more clothes!" Wen Lan hurriedly chased after her, but when she opened the door, Lu Ziyin was nowhere to be seen.

"This child, why is he so impulsive!" Wen Lan shook her head helplessly, and had no choice but to go back.

Lu Ziyin had the driver park the car at the entrance of the residential area, and then walked with an umbrella to the Ding family's building.

Taking out her phone, Lu Ziyin sent a message to Ding Kemeng.

Ding Kemeng had just finished showering. Her parents were still watching TV in the living room. She was about to lie down in bed, read a book for a while, and then go to sleep when she unexpectedly received a message from Lu Ziyin.

Holding her phone, Ding Kemeng felt a momentary nervousness, but mostly excitement. The boy she liked had come to see her downstairs late at night; Ding Kemeng felt any girl would be thrilled!

She quickly found some clothes in the closet, looked at herself in the mirror for a while, and smiled with satisfaction.

Pushing open the bedroom door, Ding Kemeng looked into the living room. Her parents were watching a variety show, laughing heartily at the television.

Ding Kemeng took a breath, her expression remained normal, and walked to the sofa, saying, "Mom, I'm going out to buy something. I'll be back in a bit."

Ding's mother was engrossed in watching TV and didn't hear what her daughter was saying at all. She waved her hand repeatedly and said, "Go, go, go! Just come back soon!"

Upon receiving permission, Ding Kemeng was secretly delighted, but dared not show it on her face. She quickly went to the entrance hall, pushed open the door, and ran away in a flash.

After sending the message, Lu Ziyin wasn't foolish enough to stand on the road. She closed her umbrella and went to stand in front of a covered parking garage.

Ding Kemeng was so excited when she came out that she didn't realize it was raining outside. By the time she realized it, it was too late to cover her head with her hands.

It was at this moment that Lu Ziyin saw his little girl. She was so tiny, standing blankly in the rain, looking flustered. She was so incredibly cute!

Ding Kemeng was looking around for a place to take shelter from the rain, but soon the cold feeling of the raindrops on her head disappeared, and she even felt a faint warmth emanating from behind her.

Ding Kemeng turned around: "Lu, Lu Ziyin!" Ding Kemeng laughed immediately, and the hand covering her head subconsciously hugged Lu Ziyin's waist. Ding Kemeng threw herself into Lu Ziyin's arms.

"You're really here! I'm so happy!"

The little girl hugged his waist tightly, burying her face in his chest. A faint fragrance seemed to linger in her nostrils—strawberry? Lu Ziyin couldn't guess, but it was so sweet!

Lu Ziyin's lips began to curl into an uncontrollable smile. He held an umbrella in one hand and half-wrapped the little girl's shoulder with the other. It looked like he wasn't using much force, but Ding Kemeng was completely locked in Lu Ziyin's arms and couldn't move!

After hugging for a while, Ding Kemeng's face turned red. She raised her head slightly and said, "Lu... Lu Ziyin, okay, okay, let go of me." If she hugged her any longer, she would be sweating profusely!

Just as I was enjoying the soft, smooth texture in my hands, the little girl's complaining voice reached my ears.

Lu Ziyin was startled awake, and even though she was reluctant, she let go of his hand.
