"I...I told you..." But his mother didn't believe him. It was always like this, so he might as well not say anything.
Lu Zichen lowered his head, feeling somewhat down.
Xie Sichen rubbed his head and comforted him, "Don't be sad, Chenchen."
Ding Kemeng looked helplessly at Lu Ziyin. This was Lu Ziyin's family matter, and as an outsider, it seemed inappropriate for her to interfere.
Lu Ziyin looked at Xie Sichen and said, "Send the person back, and I will handle this matter."
"Are you sure you want to handle this?" Xie Sichen was afraid that Lu Ziyin would go too far, so he quickly said, "I'll go with you."
“This is my family matter.” Lu Ziyin knew what Xie Sichen was worried about, but he still refused Xie Sichen’s offer.
Xie Sichen looked at Lu Ziyin carefully and saw that he was serious. In the end, he gave in and said, "Then you should be careful and not go too far."
"Um."
After parting ways at Juxian Pavilion, Ding Kemeng knew that Lu Ziyin might have to deal with her younger brother's teacher's matter, so she felt embarrassed to keep Lu Ziyin from leaving any longer. The two said goodbye at the bus stop and then parted ways.
It wasn't until Ding Kemeng's figure disappeared from her sight that Lu Ziyin came back to her senses. She picked up the few documents in her hand, turned around, hailed a car, and headed to the calligraphy teacher's house that her younger brother had mentioned.
Evening, at the Lu family residence.
Wen Lan answered a phone call, looking somewhat confused, but ultimately nodded helplessly, agreeing with the person on the other end. Lu Zichen, diligently doing his homework at his desk, noticed Wen Lan's strange expression after the call and whispered, "Mom, what's wrong? Are you unhappy?"
Wen Lan looked at her son, sighed, and said, "Chenchen, your calligraphy teacher just called to say that she has something to do back in her hometown and needs to go back for a while, so she probably can't teach you calligraphy anymore."
"Really!" Lu Zichen couldn't contain his joy when he heard that the calligraphy teacher was leaving, and a smile appeared on his face.
Looking at the smile on her son's face, Wen Lan asked in a slightly strange tone, "Are you this happy that your calligraphy teacher isn't teaching you anymore?"
"Uh, no, no!" Lu Zichen snapped out of his daze, gave an awkward laugh, and didn't know how to explain. Fortunately, Wen Lan received another call from an unknown number.
Wen Lan answered, "Hello, how can I help you?"
"Are you Ms. Wen Lan? I am Mr. Chen Yuan's secretary. My surname is Li..." A deep male voice came from behind.
The phone call lasted a full half hour. Even after hanging up, Wen Lan was still somewhat dazed. "Chenchen, you've found a calligraphy teacher! It's the great calligrapher Chen Yuan! It's Chen Yuan!" Wen Lan looked at Lu Zichen, her eyes reddening. She had tried everything before, but could only find her son a reasonably good calligraphy teacher. The Lu family certainly held considerable power in the business world, but that didn't mean they had the same influence in the art world!
Wen Lan still feels it's all a bit unreal; her son has been chosen by Master Chen Yuan!
"I've been chosen by Master Chen Yuan?" Lu Zichen was also a little incredulous. How could he have been chosen by Master Chen Yuan...?
That evening, Wen Lan happily cooked a sumptuous dinner herself. Lu Zichen watched Lu Ziyin cautiously at the table, still feeling puzzled. He was still worried about what had happened that morning, but his brother Chen had told him not to worry, saying he would handle it for him. But didn't his brother dislike him? Why would he handle these things for him?
Lu Ziyin didn't feel anything and went back upstairs after dinner.
For the first time ever, Lu Zichen ate his meal early and hurriedly followed Lu Ziyin upstairs.
Lu Ziyin looked at the little boy who had followed her into the bedroom and said calmly, "Is there something you need?"
"Brother, you..." Lu Zichen didn't know how to start, his hands clenched tightly, and he opened his mouth: "You...did you say something to the calligraphy teacher for me?"
"What, that woman hasn't resigned yet?" Lu Ziyin frowned. He had watched that woman make the phone call. Didn't Wen Lan tell Lu Zichen?
"No, my calligraphy teacher resigned!" Lu Zichen quickly explained, afraid that his brother would misunderstand. "What I want to ask is, Master Chen Yuan, why did he take me as his apprentice? Did you find him for me, brother?"
"No." Lu Ziyin rubbed her throbbing forehead and said, "That's your own strength, it has nothing to do with me. Okay, I'm sleepy, you can leave now." Her tone was clearly dismissive. Lu Zichen glanced at the tall boy sitting in the chair, nodded, and obediently left.
The two-day holiday ended quickly. Ever since Ding Kemeng offered to tutor Lu Ziyin, Lu Ziyin was afraid that the girl would think he was stupid, so he didn't dare to take on any more orders during this period. He stayed up less at night to draw blueprints, so he was naturally less sleepy during the day.
After a week of doing practice tests, Lu Ziyin felt that she had actually learned quite a bit of knowledge!
Time flies. After the November monthly exams, December seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. Due to the end of the month and the New Year's Day holiday, the school moved the exam time forward so that the New Year's Day holiday would start right after the exams, in order to allow students to have a perfect New Year's Day.
Because of the New Year's Day holiday, the students in Class 10 were unusually excited before the monthly exam, and even more excited afterward. The teachers, not wanting to affect their mood, also unusually didn't assign too much homework during the holiday, making the students in Class 10 even happier!
Ding Kemeng really wanted to invite Lu Ziyin out on New Year's Day. She even did her homework in advance. On New Year's Day, a new movie was showing in theaters, and she wanted to invite Lu Ziyin to watch it together.
However, Lu Ziyin seemed to be in a bad mood, remaining gloomy all day. Ding Kemeng didn't know what had happened and asked Xie Sichen, who simply told her not to bother Lu Ziyin. And so, the idea of inviting Lu Ziyin to the movies was put off, and Ding Kemeng's plan was ultimately abandoned.
The New Year's Day holiday has arrived as scheduled.
The day of treatment arrived again. Lu Ziyin wasn't in a great mood, but it wasn't as bad as usual.
The attending physician was somewhat surprised to see Lu Ziyin enter the office not in a rage.
"You seem to be in a pretty good mood. Has something good happened recently?"
Lu Ziyin obediently sat down opposite the doctor, lay back in the chair, closed her eyes, and didn't say anything.
The doctor didn't mind, smiled, and stepped forward to adjust Lu Ziyin's chair to make him more comfortable, which would make his treatment easier.
Incense was lit in the office to calm the nerves.
"Are you in love?" the doctor's voice rang out softly in the office.
Lu Ziyin unconsciously tightened her grip on the armrest of the chair, then relaxed. "Yes, I've fallen for a girl."
The doctor didn't miss Lu Ziyin's subtle movements. He smiled knowingly, lowered his voice again, and asked, "What are you worried about? Is it because of your illness, or something else?"
"There are many... I don't know, she's too outstanding..."
