Chapter Sixty-Eight: Gathering Immortals Pavilion (shuhaige.net)

They were just there to watch the excitement. They kept saying they saw it, but they couldn't even explain what they actually saw.

Now that the commotion has turned around on them, they're no longer interested in getting involved in this kind of business. Besides, thinking about it carefully, what the little girl who came later said makes a lot of sense!

"Is this woman really trying to extort money from someone...?" "Who knows? She's just a high school student. Why is she being so aggressive? She's obviously trying to scam someone!"

"Kids can't distinguish right from wrong. This high school student was quite far away from the little kid at the time, so it was obvious that he couldn't bully the kid!"

The crowd that had been condemning Lu Ziyin on behalf of the woman suddenly started speaking up for Lu Ziyin. The woman was furious at the sounds around her and hugged her daughter so tightly that it hurt the little girl.

"Even so, your classmate scared my daughter to tears, you have to give me an explanation!" Asking for more money was out of the question, but she still deserved an explanation!

Ding Kemeng wanted to say something more, but Lu Ziyin really didn't want to waste any more time. She gently pulled Ding Kemeng, took a step forward, and with her expression still cold and hard, took out three banknotes and stuffed them into the little girl's hand.

Lu Ziyin tried to make her voice sound gentle as she slowly said, "Big brother didn't mean to scare you. Take this money and buy some candy."

After saying that, Lu Ziyin didn't care about the woman's expression anymore. He pulled Ding Kemeng and left through a less crowded corner.

After the excitement was over, everyone lost interest and dispersed.

Ding Kemeng was pulled along by Lu Ziyin and soon left the square, arriving at the entrance of a bookstore.

"Are you stupid? That auntie is obviously trying to scam you!" Ding Kemeng was still upset; the auntie hadn't even apologized yet!

"It's alright. I was too fierce and scared the little girl." Lu Ziyin didn't feel that the money he gave was unfair, and the amount wasn't much anyway. He just considered it compensation for the frightened little girl.

Ding Kemeng sighed, looked up at Lu Ziyin, who had sword-like eyebrows and bright eyes and was clearly very handsome. Where did he look fierce?

“You’re very good-looking, not fierce at all!” Ding Kemeng stared at Lu Ziyin’s face and said earnestly.

Being praised by the girl she liked made Lu Ziyin a little shy, and her ears turned red instantly. She coughed awkwardly twice and pointed to the bookstore, saying, "Weren't you going to buy me practice materials? This is the bookstore. Let's go in!"

"Okay." Ding Kemeng peeked out and nodded when she saw the bookstore behind Lu Ziyin.

The two browsed the bookstore for a long time. Ding Kemeng looked through all the practice questions suitable for Lu Ziyin and finally chose three books that were most suitable for him.

Incidentally, Ding Kemeng also bought herself a few reference books. Lu Ziyin was curious about what she had and secretly glanced at them. One of them was an all-English book. Just one glance made Lu Ziyin's head ache, and she stopped being curious after that.

After browsing the bookstore, it was already past eleven o'clock. Lu Ziyin stood at the entrance, carrying a few documents. His phone showed a message from Wen Lan asking if he was coming home for dinner. Lu Ziyin glanced at Ding Kemeng, who was organizing books at the cashier, and decisively replied to Wen Lan, "No."

After paying, Ding Kemeng came out with the books in her arms. When she saw Lu Ziyin standing at the door, she quickly jogged to catch up with him.

"I've bought everything. Are you going back now?"

"Are you hungry? Do you want to go eat?" Lu Ziyin gently patted Ding Kemeng's head and asked.

Ding Kemeng glanced at the time; it was indeed lunchtime. "Okay, let's go eat."

The restaurant was booked by Lu Ziyin, Juxian Pavilion.

Ding Kemeng stood outside the gate of Juxian Pavilion, somewhat hesitant.

She just wanted a simple lunch, there was really no need for her to come to Juxian Pavilion!

"What's wrong?" Lu Ziyin looked at Ding Kemeng, and seeing that she had stopped, she asked with some confusion, "Why aren't you going in? Don't you like the food here?"

"We're just having lunch, there's no need to come to Juxian Pavilion..." Ding Kemeng silently calculated how much money she had brought with her.

“If you don’t like Juxian Pavilion, we can go to Changyi Pavilion. The food there is pretty good too.” After thinking for a moment, Lu Ziyin chose another restaurant instead.

Changyi Pavilion, the dishes at that restaurant seem to be even more expensive than Juxian Pavilion!

Ding Kemeng shook her head vigorously, "No, this place is fine, this one is fine."

"That's good, let's go in." Lu Ziyin smiled and took the lead into the Juxian Pavilion.

The waiters at Juxian Pavilion are all worldly-wise, so how could the young master of the Lu family not recognize him? Moreover, he had ordered food at their restaurant several times before and was known for his lavish spending. When they saw him again today, they naturally sent people to greet him respectfully.

"Young Master Lu, are you here to dine with friends? This way, please. We've prepared a private room for you on the third floor." The manager of Juxian Pavilion greeted Lu Ziyin with a broad smile on his slightly chubby face.

Lu Ziyin glanced at Ding Kemeng behind her and asked softly, "Mengbao, shall we eat in a private room?"

It was Ding Kemeng's first time eating here, so she wasn't quite sure what Lu Ziyin was talking about. She simply nodded in agreement, "Okay."

The two went up to a private room on the third floor. Lu Ziyin gave the menu to Ding Kemeng and asked her to order. Ding Kemeng looked at the prices and finally relaxed. Fortunately, she could afford the prices of these dishes.

Ding Kemeng ordered two simple dishes and then didn't order anything else from the menu. Lu Ziyin was worried that Ding Kemeng wouldn't have enough to eat, so she ordered a bunch of other dishes herself before asking the waiter to leave.

After the young waitress left with a smile and respectful demeanor, her expression instantly changed.

Seeing her expression, her friends waiting outside asked curiously, "So, which family does that girl belong to?"

"What 'Miss'? She may be pretty, but all she has is her face. Her clothes are ordinary, and her mannerisms are not elegant at all. She's just an ordinary student!"

"Is that so? Then why did Young Master Lu bring her to dinner? Are the two of them dating?"

"Come on, a wealthy family like the Lu family would never allow their eldest son to marry an ordinary girl. I think Young Master Lu is just playing around." The waitress immediately rolled her eyes at her colleague and said disdainfully.

"The lives of the wealthy are truly harsh." The girl's eyes darkened, and she lowered her head, lost in thought.

Seeing her friend's expression, the waitress understood perfectly well. She snorted inwardly, patted her shoulder, and said, "You should think more about how to keep your job. Stop thinking about these trivial things all day. I need to give the menus to the kitchen, so I won't chat with you anymore."
