Chapter Ten: Sleepless Nights

Lu Ziyin drew until the early hours of the morning, then turned off the computer, stretched her stiff neck, and climbed into bed.

After tossing and turning in bed for half an hour, Lu Ziyin sighed, picked up her phone from the bedside table, and opened the forum.

How should I pursue a girl I like?

Lu Ziyin hesitated for a long time, deleting and rewriting in the phone's search bar, and finally typed out a line of text.

In order to get an answer quickly, Lu Ziyin even spent money to offer a high reward for his question!

He thought he wouldn't get a reply until tomorrow, but his phone rang just five minutes later. Lu Ziyin opened his eyes, quickly picked up his phone, and opened the forum.

Dad Loves Me: OP is rich! So many forum coins for just one question, awesome!

I'll stomp my foot when I'm angry: The first floor is an idiot! I'll take on the question, OP! Answer: Option 1: Write a love letter. The oldest and cheapest way to confess. If you're good at writing, consider a love letter; quite a few girls still like receiving them! Option 2: Buy flowers. If you're rich, buy 999. Make a big show of it, kneel down somewhere, and confess. The girl definitely won't be able to handle it! Option 3: Be good to the girl, pamper her, pamper her to death! As the saying goes, to defeat the enemy, you must attack from within! Just hang around her every day, be good to her, and infiltrate her life in various ways—buy her gifts, clothes, bags, everything! (This method is recommended for rich people.) That's about it. When pursuing a girl, sincerity is key. Persistence is key; if she's interested, you'll succeed sooner or later!

The soy milk tastes awful: The second floor is great! You must have got a lot of girls chasing after you!

Dad Loves Me: I've reported the person on the second floor who was swearing! I've reported it!

Kids are hard to raise: Do you have to go to forums to pursue a girl these days?

I'm so jealous! What an incredibly pure and innocent guy this poster is! He's spending money to post questions on forums in the middle of the night just to woo a girl. Is this some new way to seduce single people? Sorry, I'm so jealous!

Salty and painful: I'm sour too!

…………

Lu Ziyin didn't bother reading the subsequent comments; they were mostly off-topic, and apart from the second commenter who provided an answer, the others offered practical solutions. However, Lu Ziyin felt that the second commenter's answer was sufficient!

Options two and three are too conspicuous. If teachers see them at school, it might affect the child. So it seems that only option one looks good.

Having made up her mind, Lu Ziyin immediately got out of bed, turned on the desk lamp, and sat down at her desk. After rummaging through the drawer for a long time, she finally found some letter paper. Lu Ziyin then found her favorite pen and began writing a love letter.

For the first time in her sixteen years of life, she had fallen for a girl, and this was also the first time she had ever written a love letter. Lu Ziyin, who usually didn't even do her homework, finally understood what it meant to have a thousand thoughts swirling in her mind, yet her pen remained blank!

After wasting thirteen sheets of paper, Lu Ziyin finally lost her temper and punched the desk.

Why are these damn love letters so hard to write!

Moonlight streamed through the window into the room, and the scattered crumpled papers on the floor revealed the owner's helplessness.

Lu Ziyin looked up from a pile of crumpled papers. On the table was a dictionary that he hadn't touched for years, and to his left was an open collection of essays. But the letter in front of him was only written in crooked black ink.

Just then, his phone rang. The love letter for which he had offered a hefty reward had finally received a reply. A hint of joy flashed in Lu Ziyin's eyes, and he quickly picked up his phone.

He offered a reward for ten love letters, but perhaps due to time constraints, he only received four replies. However, that was enough!

Having found one that appealed to her, Lu Ziyin began to carefully analyze the contents of the love letter…

After studying for more than an hour, Lu Ziyin felt he had grasped the general idea. He picked up a new sheet of paper, and this time his hand finally felt less awkward as he wrote.

After dawdling for another half hour, Lu Ziyin yawned, wiped away the tears welling up in her eyes, and finally smiled with satisfaction as she looked at the love letter in front of her.

Carefully placing the love letter into the envelope, Lu Ziyin imagined the girl's reaction upon receiving it and couldn't help but chuckle. She glanced up and saw her own reflection in the windowpane, smiling broadly. For a moment, she was surprised, then, as if someone had stumbled upon a secret, she coughed quickly twice and suppressed her smile.

Carefully tucking the love letter into her textbook, Lu Ziyin turned off the desk lamp and glanced at her phone; it was already past 3 a.m. There were still four hours before school started, so she could sleep a little longer.

"Hey, you know what? I heard that the school bully from the first year of high school beat someone up yesterday!"

Ding Kemeng had just put her schoolbag in her desk drawer and sat down when she heard a discussion between the girls at the table in front of her. She didn't want to listen to gossip, but since it was about the "school bully," her curiosity got the better of her, and she couldn't help but prick up her ears.

"I know, I know! I've heard about it too. Apparently, the school bully beat up one of the girl's suitors over a girl!"

"Who is that girl? She's so amazing. Does the school bully like her?"

"I don't know, that's what everyone's saying. They say the school bully likes that girl, and I think her surname is Huang, but I don't know her full name..."

Surname Huang? Huang Yuxin?

Ding Kemeng recalled what she had heard yesterday afternoon, and combined it with what the girl in front of her had said, she suddenly remembered Huang Yuxin's face...

However, the rumors are so far from the truth! What she heard yesterday was that Huang Yuxin liked the "school bully," but the "school bully" didn't like her! Moreover, the "school bully" didn't even lay a hand on her!

"Um..." Ding Kemeng wanted to tell the two girls in front of her the truth, but just then the class bell rang, and the teacher arrived at the classroom right on time.

Helpless, Ding Kemeng had no choice but to shut her mouth.

The intense study atmosphere in Class 1 of Grade 11 did not affect Class 10 of Grade 11 at all. Most of the students in Class 10 entered the classroom on time, and several were even late!

The teacher of Class 10 was already used to his students' schedule, so he was late too!

The first class was Chinese. Five minutes into the lesson, the Chinese teacher finally appeared at the classroom door, followed by several boys who were also late. The boys walked into the classroom with grinning faces. The Chinese teacher ignored them, put his books on the podium, and started his lesson by opening the PowerPoint presentation.

Anyway, these kids won't listen to him, so he just needs to finish his task!

Tang Zhizhou looked up from his comic book and glanced around. Xie Sichen's seat was empty; he was probably sleeping at home at this time. He never liked listening to Chinese class! As for the person next to him, there was no one there either, but for some reason, Lu, the big shot who always skipped class, had recently changed his ways and was actually coming to class on time every day!
