Chapter Twenty-Six: The Common Cold

Ding Kemeng hadn't been sick in a long time. She never expected that she, who was always strong and healthy, would catch a cold just from getting a little rain and a little wind!

After taking a shower, Ding Kemeng took her temperature: 37.4 degrees Celsius, thankfully not too serious. She rummaged through the bedside table drawer and found a small first-aid kit. She took some cold medicine with hot water and obediently lay down in bed.

Aside from a sore throat, she hasn't experienced any other symptoms yet. She needs to nip the germs in the bud before the cold gets serious, otherwise it will be a big problem if she gets sick!

It was still early, so Ding Kemeng took out her phone, opened WeChat, and scrolled through her Moments. She habitually liked Ye Nai's Moments post and was about to exit WeChat when, for some reason, seeing the empty Moments under her own profile picture, she suddenly couldn't help but post a Moments update herself.

After finishing dinner, Lu Ziyin lay on the bed and scrolled through Ding Kemeng's WeChat Moments over and over again. She had looked at it countless times. Apart from posting a "Happy New Year" message every year during the Spring Festival, Ding Kemeng's WeChat Moments were basically empty!

Lu Ziyin smiled helplessly, swiped up and down to refresh the page one last time, intending to close WeChat, but just then, Ding Kemeng suddenly posted a new update!

[I haven't been sick in a long time, but today I only got caught in a little rain and I've caught a cold and cough. It's quite unexpected!] The accompanying picture is a thermometer. Lu Ziyin clicked on the picture and looked at it: 37.4!

Thankfully, it's not serious!

Lu Ziyin sighed and casually liked Ding Kemeng's post on WeChat Moments, but then realized it was a bit inappropriate and immediately unliked it. She opened the comments section, wanting to send Ding Kemeng a few words of concern, but her finger hovered over the keyboard for a long time, unable to type a single word.

After Ding Kemeng posted on her WeChat Moments, Ye Nai was the first to notice and immediately sent her a private message, asking about her health. Ding Kemeng repeatedly assured Ye Nai that she was fine, and Ye Nai finally stopped asking.

After she dismissed Ye Nai, her WeChat started buzzing again, several times in a row from different profile pictures. Ding Kemeng watched the red dots slowly increasing and suddenly regretted posting on her Moments...

Even if she wanted to post it on WeChat Moments, she should have blocked her senior classmates beforehand! Now look what happened, she's being bombarded on WeChat – she really brought this on herself!

No matter how much she complained, it was useless. Ding Kemeng resigned herself to her fate, picked up her phone, opened WeChat, and replied to each of her senior brothers one by one, telling them that she was fine and assuring them that she would be better after a good night's sleep. Only then did her senior brothers let her go!

...

Because she was worried about Ding Kemeng, Lu Ziyin didn't sleep well all night. She woke up early at five o'clock in the morning, ran downstairs, and saw the aunt making breakfast in the kitchen. Lu Ziyin went up to her.

"Young Master, why are you up so early today?" The aunt was a little surprised to see Lu Ziyin.

Lu Ziyin saw the glass bottle that the aunt had put in the pot, pointed at the pot, and asked, "Auntie, is this warming milk?"

"Yes, it's for the young master, so he can take it to school to drink," the auntie replied with a smile.

"Auntie, could you warm up a bottle of milk for me too?" Lu Ziyin suddenly asked, thinking of Ding Kemeng who had a cold.

"Sure, if the young master wants some, I'll warm it up for you right now!" Lu Ziyin was rarely seen drinking milk, so the aunt was happy to see him ask for some today and immediately agreed.

"Thank you, Auntie."

"It's alright, it's alright, young master, just wait a moment. After I warm the milk, I'll pack it for you and put it in your schoolbag!" The aunt happily took a new bottle of milk from the refrigerator, put it in the pot, and warmed it.

It rained all day Monday, but Tuesday was a sunny day.

Lu Ziyin arrived at the classroom on time. Because there would be an inspection on Monday, most classes would have teachers watching over the morning self-study sessions. However, starting on Tuesday, the teachers would no longer watch over the classes, and whether the students in each class studied or not depended entirely on their self-discipline!

"Brother Lu, why are you here so early today?" Tang Zhizhou thought Lu Ziyin wouldn't come when he arrived at the classroom, but he didn't expect Lu Ziyin to come so early!

"It is quite early." Xie Sichen washed his hands and returned to the classroom. Hearing Tang Zhizhou's words, he couldn't help but agree.

Tang Zhizhou turned around and saw Xie Sichen, and was even more surprised: "Xiao Chen, why are you here so early too!"

"It's Tuesday!" Xie Sichen sat down, rolled his eyes at Tang Zhizhou, and said irritably.

Oh, he remembered! Today is Tuesday, and the first class after morning self-study is math. Xie Sichen can skip all his classes, but he definitely won't skip math class!

But why did Lu Ziyin arrive so early?

"Zhou'er, is that breakfast you're carrying?" Lu Ziyin had sharp eyes and had noticed the food box Tang Zhizhou was carrying a long time ago.

Hearing Lu Ziyin's question, Tang Zhizhou lifted the food box in his hand, somewhat pleased, and introduced, "It's breakfast from the same restaurant as yesterday, a new product. I bought one to bring to the classroom to eat!"

Upon hearing this, Lu Ziyin's lips curled up slightly. She took out a hundred-yuan bill from her pocket and stuffed it into Tang Zhizhou's hand: "Zhou'er, here you go, take it!"

"Why are you giving me money?" Tang Zhizhou didn't understand what Lu Ziyin wanted to do, but he understood the next second!

"Lu Ziyin, you bastard, stop right there! I don't want your money, give me back my breakfast!" The moment he handed over the money, Lu Ziyin snatched the breakfast from his left hand. Tang Zhizhou tried to take it back, but it was too late!

With so many people in the classroom, it's amazing how such a big guy could dart out so nimbly!

Tang Zhizhou was also convinced!

Xie Sichen laughed uncontrollably, patted Tang Zhizhou on the shoulder, and said insincerely, "Didn't we pay for it? It's not a loss, it's not a loss!"

Tang Zhizhou: What if he gets even angrier after hearing this consolation?

When Ding Kemeng woke up in the morning, her nose was stuffy. As usual, she took a cold medicine and went to the classroom. She had just sat down when the class monitor, Song Xingjie, came over.

A steaming thermos was placed in front of Ding Kemeng, who looked up in confusion.

Song Xingjie's smiling face came into view. He said, "Ding Kemeng, this is ginger tea that I asked the housekeeper to make this morning. Have some; it will help with your cold."

"How did you know I had a cold?" Ding Kemeng asked, somewhat puzzled. She shouldn't have told the class monitor that she had a cold!

"Didn't you post something on WeChat Moments last night? I saw it." Song Xingjie pushed the thermos forward and continued, "Have some first, it'll make you feel better."

"Oh, thank you, class monitor!" Ding Kemeng suddenly realized that Song Xingjie had asked for her WeChat account when school started, and quickly thanked him while looking at the thermos in front of her.

"It's okay, I'm going to do my homework now. I'll leave the thermos here with you, remember to drink it!"

Lu Ziyin grabbed breakfast and ran all the way to the third floor, stopping only at the door of Class 1. But just as she was about to go in, she saw this irritating scene!
