Chapter 505 He Figured It Out
It was past 10 o'clock in the evening, the night was getting darker, and there were few people in the community.
Liang Zhouheng stood in front of the window for less than 2 minutes, then turned around, took the car keys and walked out.
When he drove to the gate of the community, he happened to see Song Cun struggling to drag the suitcase into the trunk of a taxi.
He followed slowly behind the taxi.
The taxi drove for about 10 minutes and stopped by the roadside. Liang Zhouheng stepped on the brakes from a distance and glanced diagonally ahead. There was a small chain hotel on the street.
Song Cun had few relatives in North City. She had just started working, and her only close friend was Jiang Yuan. He guessed that with her personality, she would not bother Jiang Yuan, so he could only stay in a hotel.
He watched her get out of the taxi and drag her suitcase into the hotel.
He was too far away to see if she was crying again, but just seeing her frail figure was enough to break his heart.
He remembered the question she had asked him a few days ago: would he always love her? He knew why she asked that. She was probably inspired by seeing Jiang Yuan get the marriage certificate.
She was drunk that night and was particularly clingy and docile. He knew that she wanted to give herself to him completely.
So, how could it be possible that he was just used for training?
She liked him so much that she secretly hid all her needs and expectations, compromised, and did not put any pressure on him.
During the days they've been together, all her obedience and understanding are proof that she likes him.
He suggested not to make their relationship public in the company, and she agreed without asking why.
After work, she was keen on researching new and fancy foods and cooking them for him. Sometimes when he went out to drink with that group of people, no matter how late they played, she would always reply to his messages as soon as possible.
Even if the women in the company were so bold as to flirt with him in front of her, she would be jealous but would not argue with him. She could tell right from wrong, and her little temper could always be easily coaxed by him.
Her love for him was hidden in the details, subtle and silent, but very strong.
Those photos were such a huge blow to her that she subconsciously triggered a self-protective stress response.
But she said she never wanted to see him again, which must have been true.
She was frightened, or rather disgusted, by the true face he hid from her.
Liang Zhouheng sat in the cab, thinking about it over and over again, and finally figured it out.
To put it bluntly, he was not worthy of being in a relationship with her. He shouldn't have provoked her from the beginning.
He hesitated for a few seconds and made a phone call.
When the phone rang, Jiang Yuan was leaning on the head of the bed reading a book. There was a sound of water running in the bathroom, and Yin Dong was taking a shower inside.
Just after the phone rang a few times, Yin Dong came out of the bathroom with a towel on. He walked towards the bed, frowning at the lit phone screen, "Why is he calling you so late? He's acting crazy again. Don't answer."
Jiang Yuan glanced at him. There were still drops of water dripping from his hair. He must have been in a hurry to get out and didn't have time to wipe them off.
She stood up, took a towel, half-knelt beside the bed, and wiped his hair.
He lowered his head obediently so that she could reach him, but his hands were free and had already restlessly fallen on her waist.
She was wearing a silk nightgown, and he pulled off the straps of the gown with just two flicks of his fingers.
