Chapter 598: Unknown Origin
Xu Hui maintained a very calm expression and turned to walk out the door.
However, after just two steps, I felt like my feet couldn't walk anymore. One step was deep and the other was shallow, and my heart was in a mess.
She had just sat down at the front desk for a while when she heard the voices of several people talking. She turned her head and saw Ji Chuan first, and then saw the other two lawyers following him. They walked out together.
When passing by her, Ji Chuan suddenly approached her and said, "I'm going out for a while. I'll be back for lunch at noon."
The lawyer beside him chuckled: "Hey, has the boss reported it?"
"My sister-in-law has very strict upbringing."
Xu Hui thought to herself: This is the show again. She took a deep breath and replied calmly: "I know."
Xu Hui secretly breathed a sigh of relief as he watched them leave the law firm. The receptionist immediately came over and said, "Mr. Ji is so thoughtful! This is the first time I've seen Mr. Ji show such a gentle side."
Xu Hui was panicked and forced a smile without saying anything.
Wei Wei's office is right next to Ji Chuan. The entire office environment is open, and looking out through the folding blinds, you can have an unobstructed view.
She turned her gaze away from the front desk angrily, suppressed her anger, took out her cell phone and made a call.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on the office door, and the administrative director and the human resources director were called in at the same time.
"Wei Lu, are you looking for us?"
Wei Wei asked directly, "How did you recruit the new receptionist?"
The two people across from each other glanced at each other, and then the HR Director replied, "She was appointed by President Ji. We don't know the details."
Wei Wei felt a lump in her throat. She was silent for two seconds before asking, "I don't know, but you should know her basic information, right? Show me her resume."
HR Director: “No resume.”
Wei Wei was stunned for a moment: "What? How is it possible that there is not even a resume?"
She suspected that the two people in front of her had been greeted by Ji Chuan in advance.
"Wei Lu, I really don't have any. All I have here is her ID card and a photo of her. She's Mr. Ji's employee, and Mr. Ji said the onboarding process should be kept simple, so of course we can't say anything."
Wei Wei's eyes changed several times, but she didn't say anything. However, she couldn't help but complain in her heart: How embarrassing is this.
She was even more certain of the relationship between Xu Hui and Sui Zhongyuan that was too embarrassing to talk about.
"What kind of work did you assign to her?"
She said this to the administrative director.
The man on the other side lowered his voice and replied, "According to Mr. Ji's instructions, the work is arranged normally. It's just the daily work of the front desk."
Wei Wei's gaze was intense. "Does normal work also include sending and receiving packages and running errands for everyone?"
The administrative director smiled stiffly, "That's what she said, but... I'm afraid no one dares to order her around."
Wei Wei's throat choked, and the breath in her chest rushed around. She sneered, "Alright, you guys go back."
The office door was closed, and she sat in the chair for a long time. She thought about it over and over again in her mind, but still couldn't understand why Ji Chuan would fall in love with such a dirty woman.
Was he bewitched by her or was he possessed by her? How could he possibly be interested in her when she couldn't even produce a decent resume?
How could he be as superficial as other men? How could he fall in love so easily just because of a face? Then what was the point of her love for him over the years?
Is this a joke?
