Chapter 629: Taking Advantage of Opportunities
Xu Hui's body stiffened slightly, then he stood up, moved two seats towards him, and sat down across the chair from him.
Ji Chuan took a glance, stood up without hesitation, and sat in the empty seat next to her.
A familiar breath instantly came over her, and Xu Hui's hand on the table curled up involuntarily. Before he could catch his breath, the back of his hand suddenly felt hot. He put his hand over and put his thumb around her palm and rubbed it twice.
His movements were very smooth and natural. If it weren't for the heat from his palm that was really hard to ignore, Xu Hui would really think that he was at ease with everything, like a veteran in the love field.
Mainly because the heat continued to rise, she could even feel the sweat from his palm sticking to the back of her hand.
He held her in one hand and drank tea from the cup in the other, his face calm.
Xu Hui couldn't bear the piercing itch any more, and tried to pull his hand back, but he held it even tighter.
"What's wrong?"
He had the nerve to ask her, she wanted to ask if he had a fever.
But she also pretended to be nonchalant: "Is the room a little hot? Do you want the waiter to turn on the air conditioner?"
His eyes changed slightly, "The air conditioner is on."
His voice became clearer as he continued, "Are you hot?"
Xu Hui paused for a second, nodded, and glanced at their tightly clasped hands. "Loosen a bit."
"good."
He circled his thumb in her palm before releasing it.
Xu Hui felt a chill on the back of his hand and took his hand back from the table. He was shocked to find that the palms and backs of his hands were covered in sweat. Even the air was filled with many hot water molecules. The water vapor was crowded together, and his nostrils were full of hot and humid air, as if something was about to explode.
The next second, Xu Hui's slightly drooping chin was lifted by a big hand, and then the heat was covered by the burning masculine breath.
She was caught off guard and let out a soft sigh.
Then the back of her head was supported by another hand, and her body was forced to lean against the back of the chair, with her vision blocked by the man's handsome and cold brows.
The refreshing and slightly bitter tea fragrance met between the two people's lips and teeth, spreading, surging, and lingering.
It wasn't until someone knocked on the box door again that he slowly let her go, wiped the moisture from the corner of her lips, sat up straight, and coldly responded to the door, "Come in."
Xu Hui felt like a thousand horses were galloping in her chest, but suddenly the timeout whistle was blown. She couldn't recover as quickly as he did. She felt like she had been robbed of everything and had lost all her strength from head to toe.
She could only support her head with her hands to cover her face.
The waiter said, "Mr. Chuan, enjoy your meal," and then closed the door and left.
"Eat something first."
He first put the food on the plate in front of her.
Xu Hui still couldn't do what he did. One second he was in dire straits, and the next second, he looked more serious than anyone else.
It's too divisive. Xu Hui never thought that he was such a person at heart. Is he the kind of person who is described as a "beast in human form"?
But throughout the meal, he took good care of her and almost fed the food into her mouth.
Xu Hui had attended so many dinner parties, and she had always been just a companion. This was the first time someone had devoted himself to serving her while she ate.
She felt awkward at first, but couldn't persuade him no matter what she did. Later, she accepted it naturally. In fact, people all desire to be taken care of by nature.
After leaving the restaurant, the two got back into the car. He first explained his afternoon arrangements, "I have a court hearing this afternoon. I'll take you home first, and I'll come find you when I'm done."
