Chapter 69: Lesson Learned
"What's going on? Are you all drunk?"
I heard the sound of footsteps, and the person who spoke was Mr. Lin from the Human Resources Department.
Mr. Lin probably saw that Jiang Yuan looked relatively calm, so he asked her first.
Liang Zhouheng and Yin Dong stood behind a group of people, looking past them and their eyes fell on the face of Jiang Yuan, one of the parties involved.
But she had a cold and pale face and indifferent eyes, and seemed to have turned a deaf ear to Mr. Lin's questions.
Just as Liang Zhouheng was about to step forward and ask more questions, he heard Zhang Sen, who had been being pulled, angrily say, "Is she crazy? I was joking with her, and she stuck a fork in my face!"
"I can't fucking hide. She'll poke a hole in my face!"
President Lin frowned, turned to look at Jiang Yuan, and asked sharply, "What's wrong with you? Who started it first?"
Zhang Sen continued to talk non-stop: "In front of so many people, I told a lie and was struck by lightning. So many people saw it, and the leaders were here. I want an explanation."
The people around them echoed, "They might have just had a few words, but who knew she would suddenly throw a fork at Brother Zhang."
The speaker was the woman from the technical department who had a history with Jiang Yuan. "Does she have a tendency to be violent? She already hit me once before, and she hasn't learned her lesson this time. We treat her as a colleague, but she treats us as enemies."
Jiang Yuan's voice trembled with anger. "You treat me like a colleague? That's why you're so brazen as to spread obscene rumors and make malicious jokes?"
"Why don't you flip the table?"
A cold male voice suddenly reached Jiang Yuan's ears. She felt a prick in her ear and slowly raised her head, meeting Yin Dong's sharp gaze.
Jiang Yuan's heart sank. She met his gaze and said sarcastically, "You want me to apologize again, right?"
"How do you speak? Speak nicely."
Yang Ming was so frightened that he couldn't help but whisper a reminder to Jiang Yuan.
Little did he know that it would have been better if he hadn't said anything, because once he spoke, he just confirmed the rumor.
The people around looked at each other and exchanged glances, the sarcasm in their expressions was self-evident.
Jiang Yuan no longer felt like a thorn in his back, but rather like he was being shot at by hundreds of arrows and was attacked from both sides.
"Your solution to problems is violence? You resort to violence without hesitation. How capable are you? Where does such a strong temper come from? Is this company where you vent your anger?"
Yin Dong's voice was neither loud nor low, but it was very lethal.
He didn't understand the whole story, it was almost one-sided, no one who took sides was as good as him.
Jiang Yuan knew that all of this came from his prejudice against her. At this moment, she accurately felt his deep-seated disgust for her.
At this moment, what she felt more than resentment was utter despair.
Jiang Yuan suddenly didn't want to say a word in defense. She looked straight at him, and laughed in anger. "Is this the corporate culture of Dongjin from top to bottom? Employees spread rumors and slander behind their backs, and the boss confuses right and wrong. I've experienced it."
She paused, then looked up and asked calmly, "If I resign now, the 200,000 yuan bonus you mentioned should be valid, right? You're the CEO, and you're a man, you can't go back on your word."
Yin Dong's face was as dark as a dark cloud covering a city. He stared at her without saying a word.
Jiang Yuan picked up her bag, turned around and bowed deeply in Yang Ming's direction. "I've been in the company for over a month. Thank you for your appreciation and promotion. Just put the bonus into my salary card. Thank you."
After saying that, she turned and left without a moment's hesitation.
She seemed to figure it out in an instant. Yes, she needed the money. If she stayed any longer, she was not sure when she would be driven crazy and do something bad.
The devil in her heart was ready to move, and at that moment, she wanted to kill someone.
Jiang Yuan walked quickly on the sidewalk. People passed by her from time to time. The streets at night were flashing with neon lights and the traffic was surging. She was in this bustling city, but she felt a chill all over her body.
