Chapter 82: Forgive others when you can
Yang Ming was shocked and unsure if he had guessed wrong. "You think I'm talking nonsense. I said something wrong. Please don't be angry."
He changed the subject and brought the conversation back to the topic, "Mr. Yin, I will go and apologize to Jiang Yuan later. No matter what, it's my and my wife's fault. I will also find out who was gossiping about this and give Jiang Yuan an explanation. The fault lies in my lack of prior knowledge. My wife also believed the rumors. She's a simpleton and easily led astray..."
Seeing another round of repetitive talk, Yin Dong glanced at the time on his wrist and lost all patience. "What should I do? I've already told your wife. Go to the police station and meet with her."
Yang Ming had received a call from his wife on the way here, and it was because of that that he rushed to the company in a panic. Unexpectedly, after he apologized for so long, Yin Dong's opinion on how to deal with the matter did not change at all.
His heart suddenly felt like he was visiting a grave, but Yang Ming didn't dare to show it at all, not even daring to ask any more questions. He could only respond, "Okay, Mr. Yin, I'll go over there first and then come back to see you."
After saying that, he finally left Yin Dong's office.
Jiang Yuan saw Yang Ming coming out of the president's office and then looked away. But a few seconds later, the office door opened and Yang Ming came to find her.
"Xiao Jiang, I'm sorry you were wronged by what happened this morning. It's all my fault for not disciplining you properly. I came here specially to apologize. I only found out about all the rumors going around in the company last night at the party. They must have caused you great distress and damaged your reputation. I'm so sorry. If I had known earlier, I would have investigated this matter thoroughly and cleared up these rumors. Sigh."
Yang Ming's tone sounded sincere.
There were not many people in the office at this moment, but everyone who was there could hear what Yang Ming said.
There was complete silence among the group, but the atmosphere was tense. They all pricked up their ears and listened attentively, as if they had received firsthand information.
Jiang Yuan found it difficult to tell whether Yang Ming was sincere in what he said. She had a blank expression on her face. "You weren't the one who hit me, and you weren't the one who spread the rumors. You don't need to apologize to me. Is there anything else?"
Seeing her attitude soften, Yang Ming sighed again and hesitantly said, "My wife's irrational behavior has caused you great harm. I'll apologize to you on her behalf first. Don't worry, I will definitely have her come to your house to apologize publicly, both verbally and in writing. I will also have to pay you mental compensation. You can do whatever you want to vent your anger. If you have any requests, please feel free to ask."
Jiang Yuan sensed something hidden in his words, "You want to smuggle, right?"
Yang Ming's tone was particularly flattering. "My wife deserves to suffer a little to change her temper. Alas, the difficulty lies in my family. I have elderly parents and young children to take care of. My mother is paralyzed, and my son will take the college entrance examination next year. The family really can't do without her. She's not in good health either. She's going through menopause and can't sleep all night. The doctor said she has depression tendencies. I'm really worried that if she stays in there for a few days, something bad will happen to her."
"She's actually a stubborn person. To put it bluntly, it was all a misunderstanding. She now knows that she fabricated the story and wronged someone. She regrets it deeply. I beg you to give her a chance and let her apologize to you in person."
Jiang Yuan knew that he was trying to morally blackmail her. She was not a kind person and fate had been cruel enough to her. She had no obligation to be tolerant of others.
But she still softened her heart. Yang Ming was right. In the final analysis, it was all due to misunderstanding. The most hateful people should be those who hid in the gutter in the company and spread rumors to mislead the public, thus causing this misunderstanding.
Jiang Yuan didn't have the energy to continue wasting time with Yang Ming. Having one more enemy would do her no good, so she decided to forgive him while she could.
She finally relented and agreed to go to the police station with Yang Ming to settle the matter privately.
Before she left the office, she thought for a moment and took out her phone to send a message to Yin Dong, "I agree to the settlement. I'm going to the police station with Director Yang now."
