Chapter 830: No Choice

Chapter 830: No Choice

Zhang Tiancheng accompanied Song Cun out of the box. After finding a designated driver, Zhang Tiancheng insisted on sending Song Cun home. Song Cun couldn't refuse him again and again, so he agreed.

The two sat apart in the back seat of the black Maybach. Zhang Tiancheng carefully examined Song Cun's pale face and asked in a slow and gentle voice, "Don't you really need to go to the hospital? You don't look well."

Song Cun was diagnosed with appendicitis during a physical examination at her workplace some time ago. The doctor recommended surgery as soon as possible, but she has not found the time yet. She had planned to hold on for a while, but the pain has been getting worse recently.

I don’t know if it’s because I drank too much just now, but at this moment, the pain in my lower abdomen is particularly strong. If it weren’t for Zhang Tiancheng next to her, she could only grit her teeth and hold on. I’m afraid she would have asked a taxi to take her to the hospital by now.

"I'm fine." Song Cun covered his stomach with his hands and endured the chattering of his teeth.

But Zhang Tiancheng sat a little closer to her and asked in a low voice, "Are you having abdominal pain during your period?"

Song Cun shook her head. She was in so much pain that she couldn't speak and cold sweat was pouring out of her body.

"You're sweating from the pain. Shall I take you to the hospital?"

As Zhang Tiancheng spoke, he took out a tissue and held it towards her forehead. Song Cun dodged reflexively, then quickly took the tissue from his hand and said weakly, "Thank you."

However, just as she finished her words, she couldn't hold on any longer and her head fell towards the car window.

When Song Cun woke up again, he found himself lying on a hospital bed receiving an IV drip.

The clock on the white wall showed that it was two o'clock in the middle of the night. The ward was quiet, and the sound of an ambulance from the hospital downstairs could be faintly heard outside.

She was in a daze for a moment, and just as she was about to sit up and call the nurse to ask, the door of the ward opened and the person who came in was Zhang Tiancheng.

He sat down on the chair beside the bed with his phone in his hand and asked, "Are you awake? Is your stomach still hurting?"

Song Cun supported his upper body and sat up. "Thank you for sending me to the hospital. I feel much better now."

Zhang Tiancheng: "You fainted in my car, and I took you to the emergency room. The doctor said you had appendicitis. Didn't you know?"

Song Cun couldn't imagine herself being carried into the hospital by Zhang Tiancheng. She felt an indescribable discomfort in her heart. She tried to remain calm and replied, "I know."

Zhang Tiancheng: "Then why are you still working overtime? You can't even find time for surgery? You really don't take your health seriously, do you?"

There was a hint of reproach in his tone, which made people feel strangely close to him.

Song Cun was not used to this kind of closeness and immediately replied, "No, I originally planned to use this Mid-Autumn Festival holiday to have the surgery. I really thank you for today. I'm fine now. I've wasted your time. You should go home and rest."

Zhang Tiancheng leaned back in his chair, his tone a little lazy: "I don't have a girlfriend waiting for me at home, so what's the rush? I can't sleep if I go back, so I'll stay with you. You lie down and get some sleep. I've already contacted the doctor and scheduled surgery for you tomorrow. You need to get a good rest tonight."

"You arranged this for me?"

Song Cun found it unbelievable. They were just colleagues, and he was being a little presumptuous.

"The doctor said we can't delay any longer. Do you want to faint from the pain again? I know the director here, and I've scheduled your surgery for tomorrow morning as a priority so you can recover quickly and return to work sooner."

When Zhang Tiancheng said all this, his tone was very casual, as if they were very familiar with each other.

However, his last sentence touched Song Cun's heart. She really didn't want to take too long leave because of the surgery.

At this point, Song Cun could only express his gratitude, "I don't know how to thank you. I'm so sorry for bothering you."

"Have you counted how many times you said thank you to me this evening? You seem unaccustomed to accepting other people's kindness. It's okay with others, but don't be so reserved with me. I have nothing to do anyway, so doing some good things makes me feel good."

Zhang Tiancheng leaned back in his chair, looking at Song Cun dimly.
