Chapter 836: A Dumb Person Eats Coptis chinensis

After coming out of the ward, Zhang Tiancheng took a few steps and threw the doll into the trash can next to him.

With nowhere to vent the pent-up anger in his chest, he took out his cell phone and made a call, "Let's go out for a drink, old place."

The person on the other end of the phone said, "Didn't you go to the hospital? What's wrong? From the sound of your voice, did you run into trouble again?"

Zhang Tiancheng was furious. After a moment of silence, he said, "Don't you have some connections in North City? Help me find someone."

"who?"

Zhang Tiancheng: "[Liang Zhouheng], have you heard of it?"

"No, who is it, a love rival?"

Zhang Tiancheng frowned, "Hurry up and ask someone to check."

"Okay, Master, no, you're really angry? Pretty girls, don't you have enough fun? Even Song Cun isn't that stunning. She's a strong woman, but she doesn't look very romantic. She's like a working machine. Do you really need to be so angry?"

Zhang Tiancheng cursed: "You know shit."

"Young Master's tastes are unpredictable. How could I possibly understand them? I just feel that since you've done this much, it's impossible for any woman not to be tempted. Besides, she wants to get involved in the financial circle of Yancheng and climb up the social ladder, but why doesn't she embrace the thigh that is delivered to her door? I really wonder if she has some psychological problem."

Zhang Tiancheng recalled how miserable Song Cunxing had cried when he was under anesthesia, and suddenly became even more angry. "Just check it if I asked you to. Why are you talking so much nonsense?"

"Okay, calm down and don't let yourself get sick from anger. If you really want something, you won't be able to do anything about it."

"Fuck you and stop cursing at me." Zhang Tiancheng hung up the phone and got in the car.

After staying in the hospital for a week, Song Cun recovered completely and went back to work the next day after being discharged.

As soon as she entered the company, Zhang Tiancheng called her to his office.

The door closed, and Zhang Tiancheng turned towards her, his expression noticeably softer. "How are you? I heard from the dean that you were discharged yesterday. I wanted to pick you up, but... I was afraid you wouldn't want to see me. Does the wound still hurt?"

Song Cun took two steps back and bowed to him, "Thank you for arranging the surgery for me. I have recovered and can work normally now."

Zhang Tiancheng crossed his arms, leaned down, and looked at her with an undisguised gaze. With a gentle admonition, he said steadily, "You only care about work."

Song Cun's eyes flickered, but he remained silent. "Anything else? I have a lot of work on hand."

Zhang Tiancheng: "A lot? Can I find someone to help you?"

Song Cun quickly refused, "No, it's all my responsibility."

Zhang Tiancheng asked softly in a tentative tone, "Shall we have lunch together?"

Song Cun raised his eyes and just looked at him. Before he could say anything to refuse, he took the initiative to say, "Okay, I understand. No need to say more."

As the morning shift neared its end, someone in the group suddenly called out, "Manager Zhang said he's treating everyone to lunch today. Order whatever you want."

There was a burst of responses all around.

The other people in the group immediately surrounded the man, and everyone was chattering and ordering food on their phones.

Song Cun sat in his seat and ignored him.

When it was time to get off work, she just stood up from her seat when the colleague she had just met called out to her, "Manager Song, don't go to the cafeteria. Manager Zhang has specially ordered a nutritious meal for you, and it will be delivered soon."

Seven or eight pairs of eyes in the group looked over at him at the same time. Song Cun stopped in his tracks, not knowing whether to go or not.

The office door opened, and Zhang Tiancheng walked straight towards her from inside. He said softly as he walked, "Are you hungry? The food in the cafeteria is too greasy. You just had surgery, so you can't eat such greasy food. Wait a moment, the food will be here soon."

"Manager Zhang, I didn't see you ordering a hospital meal for me when I came back from minimally invasive surgery last time. What's going on? Are you hiding something from us? How come we didn't know that Manager Song had surgery?"

"I suspect I missed out on a hundred million."

"Is there some good news you haven't told us?"

The colleagues around started to talk and make a fuss.

Song Cun suddenly felt as if his face was pierced by many hot thorns, and there was nowhere to hide.

She explained in a panic, "You're mistaken. We're not related. It's not what you think. I had appendicitis after the party that day, and Manager Zhang kindly sent me to..."

"Manager Song, please stop explaining. You're blushing."

"I'm shy."

Song Cun was not shy at all. She was just like a dumb person eating bitter herbs, with her face flushed with anxiety because she had so much trouble to express.
