Chapter 99: Physically and Mentally Exhausted
The elevator fell into silence.
Jiang Yuan collapsed in despair that night, but now she has barely maintained her outward calm. God knows how much turmoil she has been going through in her heart.
But right now, she didn't know what to do. How would this undefinable relationship between her and Yin Dong develop next?
For the first time, she lost her way.
She couldn't see through Yin Dong, and only felt that she was exhausted both physically and mentally after coming to this point.
In the despair that just passed, she was even ready to die. Life was too tiring, and it would be a relief for her to put an end to it all.
She no longer had to go to great lengths to get close to anyone or use anyone, no longer had to plot revenge, and no longer had to be trapped in hatred. She was like a bird that had flown enough and was shot down, and could finally stop and rest.
But Yin Dong suddenly appeared and pulled her back from the edge of the cliff.
His deep voice broke the silence, "How did he find it?"
Jiang Yuan lowered his throat and said truthfully, "I don't know either. They must have hired someone to follow and monitor me."
"You guys have been in touch?"
His tone was calm, but Jiang Yuan could hear the suppressed anger beneath it.
She denied it outright: "No. I blocked his number a few months ago. He was the one who kept pestering me."
He still suppressed his anger: "Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you call me first?"
Jiang Yuan didn't say anything.
He stared down at her.
Jiang Yuan lowered her eyes and replied, "I don't want to disturb your date with your fiancée."
The veins on his forehead bulged out again, and Jiang Yuan felt inexplicably happy.
He was silent for two seconds, then asked, "Why don't you go home after get off work?"
Jiang Yuan said calmly, "I want to earn overtime pay."
She was surprisingly honest, but his eyes darkened.
Jiang Yuan looked at the man's dark face reflected on the elevator wall, hesitated for two seconds, and added, "By the way, I want to wait and see if you will come back."
Yin Dong's Adam's apple rolled slightly twice.
Jiang Yuan spoke calmly, asking him, "Why did you come back so suddenly?"
He didn't respond.
She continued to mutter to herself, "I thought you were going to be with your fiancée tonight. Is she here to pick you up for dinner?"
He still didn't say anything.
Jiang Yuan curled her lips slightly and looked up at him, "Did you come back to see me?"
The man who had been silent suddenly turned his head to look at her. There were complex emotions suppressed in his eyes, and she still couldn't understand. But the next second, he pinched her chin with two fingers and leaned over to kiss her.
Jiang Yuan stood on tiptoe and grabbed his neck.
She responded to his aggressiveness with passion, kissing him back while whimpering in a hoarse voice: "I thought you wouldn't come back, I thought you were going to sleep with her tonight..."
Her complaints of grievance only resulted in him taking more intense actions.
A surge of heat quickly spread in the elevator. Jiang Yuan tilted her head back and closed her eyes. At that moment, her mind went blank. All her thoughts and plans about this man became blurry and unclear.
She didn't step out of his arms until the elevator door opened again, a bright red flush appearing on her cheeks. He lowered his head to look down at her, his voice hoarse and ambiguous, "Who gives you the right to be jealous?"
Jiang Yuan ignored him and walked out of the elevator with her head down. He picked her up from behind by the waist. Jiang Yuan felt empty and looked around nervously. Fortunately, there were not many people in the underground garage at this time.
The passenger door closed, and Jiang Yuan watched him get into the driver's seat before she replied, "Compared to her, I have no status or standing. Don't I even have the right to be jealous?"
He turned his head and looked her up and down, then suddenly said in a calm voice, "I will keep my distance from her."
Jiang Yuan blinked. Although he was surprised that he would make such a promise, he was not sure what he meant by that and how he could keep his distance, considering that she was his fiancée.
Her heart moved, but she still maintained a stubborn and aggrieved expression on her face, "If she came to you on her own initiative, would you still accept her like you did this afternoon?"
He glanced at her and asked, "What do you mean by accepting everyone?"
