Chapter 295: A Big Joke
Song Cun stared at the video over and over again until his eyes began to sore.
The classmate captioned the video: "What good luck! We were picked up at the airport in the middle of the night. I was lucky enough to see my brother-in-law and my sister exit the VIP channel together. There were so many people at the scene that my brother-in-law had the bodyguards open an entire channel. I don't know how many bodyguards came in total to maintain order. The fan club finally met us safely at the airport. My sister was escorted to the car by my brother-in-law, and the two of them returned to their love nest together."
Song Cun seemed unwilling to give up and clicked on the comment section.
"Is my brother-in-law Liang Zhouheng?"
"Damn, they're a perfect match!"
"Did they go to Paris together for Fashion Week?"
"Princess Jasmine's new movie that just came out was funded by my brother-in-law. He spent 50 million and even hired a famous director named Zhang to direct it. Jasmine missed out on the Best Actress award last year, so I have to make up for her regret."
Song Cun exited from the circle of friends, turned off the phone screen, closed his eyes and lay down.
It was like a basin of ice water was poured down, completely extinguishing the flame in my heart that had not yet been extinguished.
She was just angry at herself. How could a person be so stupid?
She almost made a huge fool of herself. Even though she was the only one who knew about the joke, whenever she thought about it, she wanted to pinch herself hard.
Song Cun thought that maybe Jiang Yuan was not wrong. The farther she stayed away from Liang Zhouheng, the better. It would be best if they never met again.
The cell phone rang, it was a new message alert. Song Cun opened it a little late, and the three words "Liang Zhouheng" appeared in front of him again, indicating a photo he sent and a beautiful cherry-peach cake.
Then he sent a string of text: [Did you forget something? ]
Song Cun moved his fingers and wanted to block him.
He sent another message, [It’s okay, I’ll take you there next time.]
A hint of coldness slowly appeared in Song Cun's eyes, but he just stroked the screen of his mobile phone with his fingers, and did not move for a long time.
About five seconds later, the cell phone rang.
Everyone in the box had left, and the noisy space suddenly became so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. The waiter came in to clean up the mess left in the box, but Liang Zhouheng waved him away.
He glanced at the time. It was just past 11 o'clock. The girl might not fall asleep so early. Even if she was asleep, she would not be angry with him if she was woken up. He waited for a few seconds, but finally couldn't bear it anymore and made a call.
The monotonous busy tone on the phone rang for who knows how long. Just when his patience was about to run out, a girl's voice suddenly came from the phone, "What's going on?"
He leaned back, tilted his head back and found a comfortable position, then asked softly, "Are you busy or have you already fallen asleep?"
Her voice didn't sound like she had just woken up from sleep.
"What brings you to this hour?"
She didn't answer but asked instead, her tone still polite but obviously distant.
He looked up and cleared his throat, "Why do you sound unhappy?"
When she sent him out of the house that night, her attitude towards him was not as cold as it is now. He was extremely sensitive when it came to women.
Song Cun didn't know how he could tell that she was unhappy from just two of her sentences, even though she had been trying very hard to remain calm.
She clutched the phone tightly and denied it flatly, "No, Mr. Liang, if there's nothing else, I'll hang up first. It's too late and inconvenient."
She thought that he had a girlfriend, and if his girlfriend found out he called her so late, he would have a hard time explaining himself.
