Chapter 900: Being Spoiled Like a Child
Song Cun still has one week of vacation left before he reports to the company's investment banking headquarters in North City. Liang Zhouheng's originally planned honeymoon trip can only be shortened to one week.
The two discussed it and decided to go to Japan.
The night before leaving, the two of them finished their meal at Liang's house with Xie Wanqing and Liang Jianxing. After putting down their bowls, Liang Zhouheng stood up and pulled Song Cun to leave, "Okay, let's go back."
Ever since they got their marriage certificate, Song Cun and Liang Zhouheng have been living in their own home outside. They were only occasionally called back for a few meals, and they have never lived in the old house for a single day. Although the old couple has a daughter-in-law, they have little chance to spend time with her.
Xie Wanqing called out to him, "You're leaving just after putting down your bowl. What's the rush?"
Liang Zhouheng grabbed Song Cun's hand and turned around. "Do you have anything else to say? Tell me quickly."
Xie Wanqing: "You are going to Japan tomorrow. Stay at home tonight. Don't go back. I'll ask Auntie to prepare some food for you to take on the plane tomorrow."
Liang Zhouheng curled his lips: "Are you still worried that we will be hungry when we go out?"
Xie Wanqing: "Why should I worry about you? You are used to eating Japanese food, but Xiaocun may not be used to it. It's better to prepare more to be prepared."
Song Cun felt warm in his heart and immediately said, "I can get used to it, so you don't have to worry about it."
Xie Wanqing's voice softened. "Why bother with this? Why are you being so polite to Mom? I'll ask Auntie to prepare some of your favorite shrimp paste, braised pork elbow, pickles, and sesame cakes. Bring some with you so it's convenient when you eat."
Without waiting for Song Cun to respond, Liang Jianxing said, "If you can't get used to the food there, just come back early. There's no need to go out and suffer that."
Liang Zhouheng chuckled, "We're going on our honeymoon, and you two are acting like we're fleeing. If you're really worried, why don't we take you two with us?"
Xie Wanqing glared at him, "Xiao Cun is going abroad for the first time. He's unfamiliar with the place and can't speak the language. You have to take good care of him."
It was obvious that the old couple were worried about them from the bottom of their hearts.
Song Cun's throat felt hot, and he spoke subconsciously: "Mom, don't worry about me, I'm fine."
When Xie Wanqing heard the word "Mom", her face was already full of joy. "Okay, Mom will wait for you to come back home early. Call us more often when you are free."
Song Cun nodded obediently, "Well, we'll let you and dad know we're safe."
Liang Jianxing and Xie Wanqing looked at each other, the relief in their eyes was self-evident.
Liang Zhouheng urged, "Alright? Can we go now? Come back tomorrow morning to say goodbye to the two elders."
Xie Wanqing rolled her eyes at him and turned to look at Song Cun. "Do you have any common medicines? If not, I'll ask my aunt to prepare some for you to take with you tomorrow. If you have a headache, fever, or stomach discomfort, you won't have to go all over the street looking for a pharmacy."
Song Cun's eyes were filled with warmth. She never thought that Xie Wanqing treated her like a child and considered everything for her.
Since she was a child, her parents asked her to be sensible and to act like a little adult, helping her parents with housework and taking care of her younger brother. Since she could remember, she never remembered being spoiled by her parents.
Over the years, every time she left home to go to school in the north city, she always packed all her luggage by herself. She also never remembered her mother ever stuffing homemade food into her bag and asking her to take it to school, not even once.
However, she is already 23 years old this year and has been an adult for many years. She has felt the feeling of being carefully cared for by her parents, which she has never experienced before.
