Chapter 152: Unfinished Hand-Drawn Map

"Lu Xuan, Keyin, Yichen, look, this should be the beach to our north, this is our cave, and this is the lake behind us, this is the cave we used to stay in, and this is the cliff next to us..."

Leng Mengyao reacted very quickly. After a few glances, he basically understood the hand-drawn map thoroughly. He even successfully marked many locations that he was very familiar with, such as the cave where his group was currently located and the lake behind.

"Who drew this picture? It's so ugly, but it's really detailed. However, it seems that it is not finished yet..." Shen Keyin muttered. Although she didn't look at it as carefully as Leng Mengyao, she seemed to have noticed some problems.

"It does feel unfinished, but this map is quite useful. The person who drew it at least knows much more than we do. This map will also make it easier for us to explore the island in the future."

Lu Xuan scanned the entire map carefully. The person who drew the map was very thoughtful and specially marked the four directions of east, south, west and north. There were also text descriptions in key areas, but they were in foreign languages. It was obvious that this map was most likely drawn by a foreigner.

It just seems to be a half-finished product.

"Lu Xuan, take out that piece of parchment and compare it."

After looking at the hand-drawn map for a while, Leng Mengyao suddenly remembered the old parchment that his group found on the yacht.

"Yeah, I'll get it. I've hidden it all."

After a moment, Shen Keyin carefully took out the carefully preserved parchment.

Everyone then gathered around, spread the parchment and the hand-drawn map they had just obtained on the ground, and began to compare them carefully, their eyes full of concentration and anticipation.

"This one's not finished, and that one seems to be missing half. It looks really weird..."

Chen Keyin rubbed her swollen forehead and paced in circles between the two drawings, her brow furrowed. Yin Yichen glanced at them briefly and shook her head decisively. She had absolutely no interest in this "spot the differences" game.

Only Leng Mengyao, with her eagle-like eyes, scrutinized the two drawings with rapt attention, meticulously examining them. She even brought a flashlight, casting a soft beam of light as she carefully compared each area, not missing a single tiny discrepancy.

"Look here... there's a peninsula-like protrusion, and the circle drawn here should refer to the lake behind us. So the island on the right half of the parchment should refer to the island we're standing on..."

Leng Mengyao is worthy of being the team's smart man. He quickly found the similarities between the two pictures from the details.

There were two islands drawn on the parchment map, but the upper half seemed to be missing; and the hand-drawn map he had just obtained depicted part of the area on the right half of the island.

"If that's true, our island seems quite large, and there's actually another connected island across the sea to the east..."

After listening to Leng Mengyao's explanation, Yin Yichen also looked at the two maps carefully.

As Yin Yichen said, the island beneath her feet seemed far beyond her initial imagination: its vastness and intricate topography. The hand-drawn map alone depicted dozens of different types of terrain: mountains, lakes, streams, cliffs, bays... It was as if all the world's myriad landscapes had been cleverly integrated into this tiny space.

Lu Xuan's greatest curiosity was the discovery of another mysterious island hidden across the vast ocean to the east of his own island. Following the path outlined on the yellowed parchment map, the north and south ends of this island faced each other at great distances, yet only in the middle did the distance between the two islands strangely close, as if nature had deliberately left a narrow passage, inviting one to explore the secrets of the unknown beyond.

"Lu Xuan, look at this. This line should be pointing to that stream. It's surprisingly long... It flows all the way to the west of the island and splits into four paths. The vast land to the west is territory we haven't explored yet."

While Lu Xuan was still looking at the parchment, Leng Mengyao carefully looked over the hand-drawn map again and made another discovery.

"It seems that, based on this unfinished hand-drawn map alone, we've only explored less than one-fifth of the area, not to mention the areas not shown on the map, and the island to the east..."

Lu Xuan couldn't help but sigh at the insignificance of human beings in the face of nature. He thought he had been on the island for more than ten days at least, and he had hardly been idle for a single day in these ten days, but in the end he had only explored this small area.

"What do you think... could the island in the eastern sea be connected to the mainland in some unknown corner?" Chen Keyin's eyes were fixed on the yellowed parchment. Before she finished speaking, she aroused the uncontrollable excitement and reverie in everyone's hearts.

"Take good care of these two maps. I guess everyone didn't get enough rest last night. Those who want to catch up on some sleep can go now. Just one person will stay to guard them. We'll take a day off today."

It's good that this person has ideas and expectations, but it's meaningless to immerse himself too much in unrealistic fantasies. Lu Xuan put away the two maps and asked Chen Keyin to keep them well, then signaled everyone to take a day off. After all, too many things happened in the past two days, which really made people feel physically and mentally exhausted.

This body is the capital of revolution. If you don't get enough sleep and rest, even if there are mountains of gold and silver on this island, you will not be able to enjoy them.
