Chapter 3: Life in Danger
Lin Ze turned his head and looked out the window, searching for his wife. Suddenly, his eyes lit up, "Boss Mo, the wife is here."
Mo Chenyan looked up when he heard that. Through the gray anti-peep film on the car window, he could clearly see Yun Lanyue getting out of the taxi.
The woman was wearing a tight red dress, the cut of which outlined her beautiful figure.
The length is mid-thigh, and the hem of the skirt is a rose made of pleats that sways as the woman walks.
The waist-hugging design makes her waist look slim, and the long hair draped behind her adds a touch of charm to her.
Lin Ze rarely saw Yun Lanyue, and when he saw her being so outspoken, he spoke before his brain could think.
"A fairy has descended to earth."
Mo Chenyan glared at him. Dressed like this, who was he planning to seduce on the first day of his divorce?
Just as he was thinking, his phone vibrated and he swiped the screen to answer it.
After hearing the latter part, his expression became darker than a dark cloud.
"Back to the old house."
"Ah? That lady?"
"Take it with you."
After Yun Lanyue got out of the car, she noticed the stretched Lincoln. If he didn't get out, did he want her to go and invite him in person?
She just walked over and was about to knock on the car window when the back door opened and the man stretched out his long arms and pulled her into the car.
The next second, the vehicle sped out.
Yun Lanyue, who was not sitting firmly, fell forward due to the strong push on her back and suddenly fell between the man's legs.
She jerked back, and when she stood up she bumped into the roof of the car again, her face twisted in pain for a moment.
The exquisite elegance she had just displayed completely vanished. She covered her head and gasped, "Aren't we going to get a divorce certificate? Where are we going?"
Lin Ze pricked up his ears. Could it be that President Mo regretted it?
He knew that his wife had been with President Mo for so many years and must have feelings for him.
The man didn't take the recent accident to heart. His face was terribly gloomy. "You'll know when you get there."
He took out a mint candy from his suit pocket, tore off the candy coating with his slender fingers, threw it into his mouth, and pressed the candy tightly with the tip of his tongue to suppress the violent emotions in his heart.
Since he didn't say anything, Yun Lanyue also frowned and lowered her head to send messages on her mobile phone.
After driving for more than an hour, the vehicle drove into a manor.
The manor covers an area of 1,000 acres, with rockery, flowing water, pavilions, corridors, and Chinese and Western-style buildings coexisting harmoniously.
After Yun Lanyue replied to the message, she looked up and saw the familiar scenery, and was stunned for a moment.
"Why did you bring me back to the old house?"
Today is their third wedding anniversary. According to the old man’s rules, the family should gather together and go back to the old house for a meal.
But last night Mo Chenyan clearly told her not to come. Why did he suddenly bring her here when they were supposed to get the divorce certificate?
The stretched Lincoln stopped in front of a lakeside villa. Mo Chenyan pulled Yun Lanyue out of the car and ignored the anxious-looking butler who came over. He walked quickly to the second floor.
The housekeeper ran and said, "The old lady didn't wake up this morning. She suddenly fell ill as soon as she woke up. Fortunately, the old man found her in time. Doctor Mo is now in the operating room to save her."
"This is the second time the old lady has fainted. She was bleeding from her mouth and nose. Doctor Mo said it was accompanied by organ failure. I'm afraid..."
Outside the master bedroom on the second floor, most of the Mo family members gathered here.
The old lady gave birth to three children. The eldest, Mo Taihe, served in the army and spent most of his time in the army.
The second son, Mo Hongyi, is Mo Chenyan’s father. He was originally the manager of the Mo Group and is now idle at home.
The third brother, Mo Xiuhan, is the mayor of Jing City and is currently on a business trip.
As soon as she saw Mo Chenyan, Mo Hongyi's wife Tang Qin curled her lips and said, "Some people are heartless. They don't even care about the life and death of their family members. They are only interested in money."
She glanced at Yun Lanyue who was following behind Mo Chenyan and clicked her tongue twice, "Oh, you're still not divorced, and you don't even know how to greet people when you see them."
She was wearing a silk cheongsam, with her arms folded across her chest, and her fully made-up face was full of resentment.
Mo Hongyi said to Mo Chenyan, "Xiaoyan, how much does grandma love you after you go home? If you come any later, you won't even be able to see her for the last time. If you ask me, it's useless for you to manage so many properties. You might as well hand some of them over."
Mo Chenyan was in no mood to argue with them. He came to Old Man Mo and asked in a deep voice, "How is Grandma?"
The old man's hair and beard were all white, and his wife's illness made him haggard. His wrinkled eyes stared blankly at the closed door.
"Doctor Mo said it might not work."
The old man's voice trembled, his hands grasping him tightly, and he squeezed out each word from his choked throat, "Xiao Yan, Yu Lan is leaving."
The force holding her wrist was as heavy as a thousand pounds. Mo Chenyan's expression was tense and his tone was obscure: "Impossible, grandma has always been in good health, she will be fine."
Yun Lanyue greeted the elders at the door one by one, found a seat behind Mo Chenyan, clasped her hands, and looked at the door worriedly.
The old lady, like the old man, has always liked her granddaughter-in-law.
Only in such a critical situation would Mo Chenyan pull her over when she was about to divorce.
After a while, the door opened and Dr. Mo in a white coat walked out.
"The old lady is critically ill. We have done our best. Please accept our condolences and prepare for her funeral."
