Chapter 64 Dementia
The old lady looked unfamiliar and propped herself up to sit up.
"Where's Xiao Wang? Why isn't she here?"
"Hey, old lady, I'm here."
Aunt Wang sat down on the other side affectionately, holding her hand and talking intimately.
"Is your head still hurting, old lady? You must take your medicine carefully today, okay?"
"The medicine is bitter, I won't take it."
"No, only if you eat it will the pain go away."
The intimate and familiar look made Yun Lanyue wonder, was her guess wrong?
Aunt Wang looked a little proud. "Miss San, I'll tell you what I said yesterday about abuse. It was all slander. I'm very kind to the old lady."
"If it were slander, would you feel so guilty?"
Yun Lanyue crossed her arms and questioned with a sneer.
She only believed what she saw. She saw her grandmother's condition with her own eyes, and she would not change her mind just because Aunt Wang said a few words.
Aunt Wang did not continue to refute. If the Third Miss continued to ask questions, it would be bad if other things were exposed.
After all, she didn't have much confidence.
Yun Lanyue personally changed her grandmother's clothes, helped her sit down in the yard, and went to the kitchen to bring her breakfast.
The old lady ate quietly and was taciturn.
Even though Yun Lanyue was mentally prepared, she still felt a sense of loss.
She remembered that there were international cases of treatment for Alzheimer's disease that could alleviate symptoms and delay the progression of the disease.
Grandma's condition is mild dementia. With proper control and intervention, it will not get worse.
"Grandma, you'll be fine with me here."
After grandma finished breakfast, she began to communicate with her.
But grandma was either silent or only said one or two words.
"Xiao Wang, Xiao Wang."
Suddenly, the silent old lady raised her voice and shouted.
"Hey, what's wrong?"
"I want to see Nian Nian and see her photos."
Aunt Wang walked into the house and handed her a photo album.
"Here, look."
Yun Lanyue stood behind the old lady and watched her turn the first page.
The young couple was holding their newborn baby, and the happiness overflowing from the photo made her eyes sore.
"Xiao Fu, Xiao Ran, why don't you bring Nian Nian back? I miss you so much."
Flipping through the album, there are happy memories of Yunfu and his family of three.
The familiar scene brought back memories buried deep in my heart, even though the memories from when I was two or three years old were no longer very clear.
But she remembers all the memories from that time like the back of her hand.
"Look, this is Nian Nian. Isn't she cute? She's very well behaved and is really good at drawing."
"Niannian hasn't come to see me for a long time. I miss her so much."
"Xiao Fu and Xiao Ran are my son and daughter-in-law. They are filial and obedient."
Opening the album, the old lady seemed to open up and talk incessantly, pointing at the photos in it.
Aunt Wang served tea to the two of them. "This is what the old lady has been like since she got sick. You are the Third Miss Niannian, right? The old lady keeps talking about you. Sigh."
Yun Lanyue's eyes were red. She grabbed her grandmother's wrinkled hand and said with a sob, "Grandma, I am Niannian."
"You're not. Niannian is still an eight-year-old girl wearing a princess dress. You're not her!"
The old lady accused angrily, her face flushed with anger.
She held back her tears and patted her back gently.
"Don't be angry, grandma, don't be angry."
Seeing her grandmother like this, she no longer said she was Niannian, but just kept crying.
The old lady kept repeating "Niannian" and "Xiaofu" over and over again, keeping her memory in that year forever.
"Miss San, the master wants you to go to the front hall."
Yun Lanyue wiped away her tears and let out a breath.
"Take good care of grandma,"
Aunt Wang was startled, "Miss Third, you won't fire me?"
After what happened last night, she thought she would lose her job during the day and didn't sleep well the whole night.
Yun Lanyue said calmly, "You've been with grandma for three years, and taking care of her has become a habit. It's a fact that you haven't been kind to her. You know clearly whether you've abused her or not."
Aunt Wang felt extremely guilty. Taking advantage of the fact that the master seldom came, she sometimes slacked off and was indeed not that nice to the old lady.
But usually, she fulfilled her responsibilities.
As for abuse, she is not that cruel.
"Miss San, I promise I will treat the old lady well! Please don't fire me."
If she leaves the Yun family, where can she find such an easy job with high pay?
"Remember what you said, I'm not your uncle, I will come to visit grandma often."
"I know."
Aunt Wang's heart finally settled down after hearing the promise, as long as she wasn't fired.
After Yun Lanyue left, she stood behind the old lady and massaged her shoulders.
"Old lady, you will be fine in the future now that I have come back. I will treat you well too."
The old lady turned around and asked her: "Niannian, where is she? I want to see her."
Aunt Wang coaxed her, "I'll tell you when she comes."

Yun Lanyue walked in the manor, and everywhere she looked was green.
The manor is well landscaped. Walking on the gravel road, you can hear the sound of gurgling water.
When she saw her grandmother like that last night, she was so angry that she really planned to kick Aunt Wang out today.
After seeing the two of them together today, some details that she had overlooked came to mind.
You can’t believe everything Aunt Wang says, but it’s not all lies either.
