Chapter 76: Trying to Make Fried Locusts (2/2)

"Oh! Our Minghao has good friends now, who are they?"

Minghao said proudly: "I have many good friends, including Zebao, Tiechui, Goudan, Beibei, and Nannan."

When Li Mengyue heard the names her brother read out, she thought of the children she met at the entrance of Xingying Village when she first arrived. She probably thought of these children her brother was talking about.

She knew that these children were pretty good and not naughty, so she felt comfortable letting her brother play with them.

"Wow! Minghao has so many good friends."

Hearing Sister Ye's praise, Minghao puffed out his chest, patted it a few times with his oily hands, and said proudly, "That's right, don't you see who I am?"

As soon as Minghao finished speaking, Li twisted his ear and scolded him: "Who did you learn this from, little boy? You're still my master. Don't you dare say that again?"

Minghao covered his ears with one hand and pulled at Li's hand with the other, pretending to howl in pain: "It hurts, it hurts, Mother, I was wrong, I won't say it again."

Mrs. Li didn't use much force. Seeing her son crying out in pain, she immediately let go of his ear, squatted down, hugged Minghao's little body, and said distressedly, "I'm sorry, son, did I hurt you?"

Minghao didn't feel any pain originally; he was just playing a prank on his mother. Seeing that his mother was frightened and about to cry, he quickly threw himself on her and clumsily coaxed her, "Don't cry, Mom, I'm not in pain."

After saying that, he made a face at Li.

Mrs. Li finally realized that her son was playing a prank on her. Feeling cheated, she angrily said, "Stop right there, you little bastard."

Minghao knew that he would get a slap from his mother for playing a trick on her, so he picked up the fried locusts that his sister had prepared for him and his best friend and ran out the door.

As he ran, he said, "I know you're going to hit me, but I won't just stand there and get beaten."

After a while, Minghao's voice could no longer be heard. It seemed that he had run far away to play with his friends.

Li Mengyue fished out all the locusts from the frying pan and looked at Mingyu who was still standing in front of the stove. She immediately said, "Mingyu, put out the fire. Take some fried locusts with you and share them with your friends."

"Sister, I won't go. I'll help at home." Mingyu refused.

Li Mengyue knew that Mingyu and Minghao had very different personalities. Minghao was cheerful and lively, and whatever he was thinking showed on his face.

Mingyu is different. He is more calm. Although he is only six years old, he is very thoughtful. Even adults may not be able to see it. He does not look like a child at all.

However, she was not going to intervene forcefully. After all, no one was perfect and everyone had a different personality. As long as he was happy and felt comfortable, that was all that mattered.

Mrs. Li tasted the fried locusts made by her daughter, which refreshed her understanding of locusts.

After all, she had always thought that locusts were inedible, but she never expected that after passing through her daughter's hands, they would become a crispy and delicious snack.

"Yueyue, fried locusts are fragrant and crispy, really delicious. I'll give your father some so he can try it too."

"Mom, I made three flavors: cumin, spicy, and fragrant. Which one do you think is delicious?"

How could Li say which one was better? She thought every flavor was delicious.

After all, she had lived in the old house for more than ten years. Not to mention eating decent meals, even having enough to eat was a luxury.

What's more, her daughter fried it in oil. She had never seen so many things fried at once in the old house.

Look at the oil my daughter poured into the pot, it’s already half full. This much oil can last for more than a day in the old house.

"Yueyue, Mom thinks every one of them is delicious."

Seeing that her mother couldn't explain it clearly, Li Mengyue stopped asking for her opinion.

Anyway, she knew that if something could make Tuanzi rave about it, it must be good, needless to say.

Since the taste is fine, all that’s left is to wait for tomorrow’s purchase, start frying locusts, and set up a stall in town.
