Chapter 10 A World for Two
"How could that be?" Zhou Du said, "Mom, I have something else to do, so I'll hang up first. We can talk about anything else when I get home tonight."
"Okay." Zhou's mother responded.
After hanging up the phone, Zhou Du put away his phone and looked at Zhou Xian, "Ah Xian, you..."
Zhou Xian waved his hand. "What about me? Even if we are not related by blood, you are still my brother. Nothing will change that."
Zhou Du's lips curled up, "Yeah, that's right."
He turned to look at Li Zhi and said frankly, "Ms. Li, I apologize for my previous malicious assumptions about you."
Li Zhi raised an eyebrow and looked at him with a hint of appreciation, "It's okay, it's human nature."
"Huh?" Zhou Xian looked at Zhou Du, then at Li Zhi, and asked with a puzzled look on his face, "Brother, what are you maliciously speculating about Master Li?"
"I thought she was a liar who specifically targeted simple-minded people like you and was using a new type of scam on you," Zhou Du explained.
"No, how could I be so simple-minded? It was only after verification that I believed that Master Li was a real master!" Zhou Xian retorted.
"Really? Then you've become a little smarter." Zhou Du said.
Zhou Xian's mouth twitched, "Brother, are you praising me or insulting me?"
"Of course I'm praising you." Zhou Du replied.
"Haha, why wouldn't I believe it?" Zhou Xian paused, then suddenly thought of something and asked, "By the way, brother, how's Dachengzi?"
"Don't worry, eating, drinking, defecating, urinating and sleeping are all normal." Zhou Du said.
Zhou Xian nodded. "That's good. I was afraid it would worry about me and lose its appetite."
"That's not the case." Zhou Du retracted his gaze and turned to look at Li Zhi again, finally his eyes fell on the little boy who had been silent beside the bed. "Miss Li, is this your brother?"
"No, my son." Li Zhi replied.
Zhou Du's eyes flashed with surprise. He didn't expect that she had a son at such a young age. "So that's how it is. Then why isn't your husband here?"
Zhou Xian couldn't help but interrupt, "Hey, brother, I'm a single mother and I divorced a long time ago."
Li Yanjing frowned slightly when he heard this. Divorce?
He remembered that when Li Zhi lost control of her emotions and beat and scolded him, she said that he was a bastard, and even she herself didn't know who the man who made her pregnant was.
Who did she divorce?
Li Yanjing raised his eyes and looked at Li Zhi, asking her if she was lying again.
Li Zhi didn't respond to his gaze, but just reached out and touched his head, then said to Zhou Du: "Yes, I don't have a husband."
Zhou Du thought it was not easy for the mother and child, and how could they survive without an adult to take care of them when they were so injured? So he said, "Miss Li, how about I find you a nurse who can also help you take care of the child?"
"It's okay, no need, my son can take care of me." Li Zhi said.
"Uh..." Zhou Du's eyes fell on Li Yanjing, who was only a little more than a head taller than the hospital bed, and he wondered if she was joking.
Li Zhi saw what he was thinking, "I'm not kidding, my son is very good at taking care of people, don't underestimate him."
She paused and continued, "Besides, I don't like being taken care of by strangers. I appreciate your kindness."
"Brother, this guy is my father's son." Zhou Xian said with a smile.
Zhou Du looked at him again, "Ms. Li has a son to take care of her, but you don't, so you definitely need a caregiver."
"That's right. Brother, please help me find one when you leave later." Zhou Xian said.
"Okay." Zhou Du responded.
......
Not long after Zhou Du left, a nurse came over.
Li Zhi thought that she still had to broadcast live, and now that there was an outsider in the ward, it was obviously not convenient and she had no privacy at all.
Just then, a nurse came in and asked to be moved to a single room.
After hearing this, Zhou Xian couldn't help but say, "No, Master Li, why do you suddenly want to change wards?"
"It's inconvenient, there are too many people." Li Zhi smiled slightly, "I still prefer my own world with my son."
Zhou Xian curled his lips, but didn't force it. "Okay, I was thinking of keeping you company. This way I won't be bored."
"When I'm bored, I play with my phone," said Li Zhi.
"Are you still broadcasting live today?" Zhou Xian asked.
Li Zhi glanced at the little carrot head beside the bed and said, "If I don't broadcast, how can I make money to support my son?"
"Is it still the same time as yesterday?" Zhou Xian asked again.
"I don't know. It depends on my mood. I may broadcast it in the morning, or in the afternoon after waking up, or after dinner. In short, the time is not fixed." Li Zhi said.
"Okay, send me a message when you're on." Zhou Xian paused, then remembered that they hadn't added each other on WeChat yet, and immediately said, "Master Li, let's add each other on WeChat."
"Okay." Li Zhi nodded, opened WeChat, clicked on the QR code, and then handed the phone to Li Yanjing, "Son, go give him the phone to scan."
Li Yanjing reached out to take it, glanced at the phone screen, walked slowly to Zhou Xian's bedside and stopped, turning the phone screen towards him with an expressionless face.
Zhou Xian scanned it with his phone and sent a friend request to Li Zhi, "OK, Master Li, I've added you."
Upon hearing this, Li Yanjing immediately turned around and returned to Li Zhi's bedside and returned the phone to her.
Li Zhi took back her phone and accepted his friend request, "Okay."
…
The hospital is pretty fast.
After Li Zhi asked for extra money to move to a single room, a nurse pushed her over shortly afterwards.
Li Zhi looked around the single room and said, "How is it, son? Do you like being alone with Mom?"
Li Yanjing didn't say anything, but quietly rearranged and put away the daily necessities he brought with him.
"If you don't say anything, it means you agree." Li Zhi said again.
Li Yanjing paused as he put his things down, and secretly glanced at her on the hospital bed out of the corner of his eye, but did not say anything to refute.
Li Zhi curled the corners of her lips, knowing that he was shy and awkward, so she didn't say anything else to tease him.
She withdrew her gaze and leaned back on the hospital bed, thinking that it was still early and there was nothing to do, so she might as well go live for half an hour.
"Son, Mom is going to work, so stay here and be good."
Li Yanjing raised his eyes to look at her, "So early."
"If you have nothing to do, of course you have to make money," said Li Zhi.
Li Yanjing pursed his lips. "Can't you just lie down and rest? Making money wouldn't hurt you at this time... And didn't you just make four thousand?"
Li Zhi reached out and poked his serious face, chuckling softly, "Don't worry, I know my body well. They say my physique is different from that of an average person, so I will naturally recover many times faster than an average person."
"Besides, I'm only broadcasting for about half an hour, which isn't a long time. How can I be tired of just talking?"
