Chapter 142 Confession Bureau
Xie Tingzhou didn't say anything and continued to wait for what she would say next.
"Ever since I opened my eyes and could remember, I have been living in a Taoist temple."
"That Taoist temple is dilapidated and shabby, very desolate, and there's no one else inside except me."
"As for me, I don't know where I got these abilities from. It seems like I was born with them."
"Aside from knowing how to practice, how to use spiritual power, how to tell fortunes, and some common sense, there's nothing else I can remember."
"I know my name, but I don't know where I'm from, and I don't know anyone."
Xie Tingzhou's eyes were filled with heartache for her, "What's your name?"
Li Zhi turned to look at him, "Li Zhi, what a coincidence, I have the same name as this body."
Xie Tingzhou's clear eyes flickered, and he immediately grasped the key point and said, "Is it really such a coincidence? Perhaps there is some connection between you two?"
Li Zhi lowered her eyelashes and stroked her chin with one hand. "It's not that I haven't thought about it, but I still haven't figured out the connection between them."
Xie Tingzhou understood and stopped dwelling on it. He asked, "What's the name of the Taoist temple you're talking about, and where is it?"
"There's a Taoist temple on a mountain. It doesn't have a plaque, and I don't know what it's called. Later, I just called it the Nameless Temple." Li Zhi said, "Anyway, it's not here. After all, we're not in the same world."
Xie Tingzhou: "Isn't this a world of one dimension?"
"Yes, this is just one of the three thousand worlds. There are others outside of this."
Li Zhi turned and lay on her side, facing him again. "If you have a magical tool that allows you to travel through time, you can travel to other worlds. Those worlds are real and exist simultaneously with the world you are in."
Xie Tingzhou nodded and said, "Go on with your story."
Li Zhi hummed, "On weekdays I stay in the Taoist temple to practice. When I'm bored, I go down the mountain and tell people's fortunes to make money."
"Gradually, my reputation grew, and people began to come to the Taoist temple to burn incense and ask for talismans, and to ask me for fortune-telling, feng shui, exorcism, and other services."
"A wealthy man I helped paid for me to renovate the temple inside and out. He even made a life-size statue of me out of gold and placed it in the temple for people to burn incense and pray for."
"Later, the Taoist temple became known to more and more people, and it became very popular. There was a constant stream of people coming every day."
"Perhaps it was because of the incense offerings that my cultivation progressed faster and faster, until I was able to transcend the tribulation and ascend to heaven."
Li Zhi paused and continued, "I originally thought that this thunder tribulation would be easy to overcome, but I didn't expect that I couldn't even make it through the last one and was struck to death directly."
"When I opened my eyes again, I was reborn into this body."
"So that's how it is." Xie Tingzhou reached out and touched the top of her head. He looked at her with gentle and radiant eyes, and said in a soothing tone, "Perhaps failing to ascend isn't such a bad thing. Here you have your own family, Yanjing, and me. You are no longer alone, Zhizhi."
Li Zhi met his eyes, her expression softening slightly. She reached out and took his hand, interlocking their fingers. "I know. I'm very happy here. I enjoy my life now."
Xie Tingzhou clasped her hand tightly and said softly, "Yeah."
He suddenly thought of something and asked again, "Does my son know?"
Li Zhi's eyelashes twitched, knowing that he was asking Li Yanjing if he knew that his mother had actually been replaced by someone else. "I didn't deliberately hide anything from him. With his intelligence, he must have noticed it a long time ago."
"After all, the original body treated him very badly before, and now he's suddenly become a completely different person. He must be suspicious."
"Indeed." Xie Tingzhou said.
Li Zhi shook their clasped hands and said, "Okay, okay, I've finished talking about my story. Now let's talk about yours."
"My business?" Xie Tingzhou raised an eyebrow. "I don't think I have much to say. The only major event was that night five years ago. You know that."
"Besides, even if I don't tell you, you can figure out whatever you want to know just by looking at it."
Li Zhi sighed softly, "That's right."
Xie Tingzhou's eyes flickered slightly. He took her hand and kissed the back of her hand. After hesitating for a few seconds, he said what he had been worried about, "Zhizhi, do you mind if I say goodbye to her..."
Li Zhi knew what he was talking about and shook her head. "I don't mind. If I minded, I wouldn't be with you."
Xie Tingzhou couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, "Thank you."
Thank you for not minding, thank you for being with me.
"What are you thanking me for?" Li Zhi raised an eyebrow and said, "Maybe it's really like what you said. There really is some connection between me and this body. Maybe this is me too."
Xie Tingzhou hummed, "One day you'll know."
"Yes, one day you'll know." Li Zhi yawned and looked a little tired, finally feeling sleepy.
"Are you sleepy?" Xie Tingzhou asked.
"Yeah." Li Zhi closed her eyes and subconsciously leaned into his arms, "Let's sleep."
Xie Tingzhou gently tapped his chin on the top of her head, "Go to sleep, good night."
"Good night." Li Zhi replied softly.
......
At seven o'clock in the morning, Li Yanjing woke up first.
He turned his head to look to the side and found that he was not in the middle, but was sleeping on the edge.
Looking at his parents sleeping in each other's arms, he could naturally understand why he was moved.
Li Yanjing yawned, not yet fully awake. He looked away, closed his eyes again, and continued to sleep.
When he woke up from his sleep, he found that Li Zhi and Xie Tingzhou were still asleep, and he didn't know when they went to bed last night.
Li Yanjing gently lifted the quilt, got out of bed, put on her slippers and walked towards the bathroom.
When he finished washing up and came out, he saw that Xie Tingzhou had woken up and got out of bed, leaving Li Zhi still sleeping in bed.
Li Yanjing walked up to him and stopped, looked up at him, and asked softly, "Dad, when did you go to bed last night?"
Xie Tingzhou was a little surprised. He thought the first thing he would ask when he woke up was how he ended up sleeping on the edge. "Around one or two in the morning."
Li Yanjing tilted her head, her black eyes clear and pure, "What did you do with mom? Why did you go to bed so late and even moved me outside?"
"I didn't do anything, just chatted." Xie Tingzhou paused and continued, "Your mother couldn't sleep, so I told her a story to put her to sleep."
"What story?" Li Yanjing asked curiously.
"A ghost story." Xie Tingzhou replied.
Li Yanjing's eyes brightened instantly. "I want to hear ghost stories, too. Dad, tell me one tonight before I go to bed."
