Chapter 158 Little Ghost
After walking in the haunted house for a while, regardless of whether it was really haunted or not, Li Zhi finally understood why the haunted house business was so depressed.
There isn't even a real person dressed as a ghost in it, all the ones used are prop dummies, and some of the props can't be said to be scary, they can be described as completely abstract, which makes people want to laugh when they see them.
And the prop dummy was also in tatters.
Li Yanjing's expression was quite complicated. It was obvious that what he saw was not what he had expected. "Mom, is this what a haunted house looks like?"
"No," Li Zhi explained, "This place has been open for quite a while. It's an old-fashioned haunted house. Next time, I'll take you to a haunted house with real people acting in it."
Li Yanjing nodded, then suddenly thought of something and asked, "Is there a ghost here?"
"It's not here, let's continue going inside." Li Zhi said.
"Yeah!" Li Yanjing responded.
After the three of them walked for a while, a coffin appeared in front of them.
The coffin suddenly opened, and a prop zombie popped out from it, accompanied by a roar.
Xie Tingzhou watched all this expressionlessly, holding Li Yanjing and walking around the coffin that blocked the way, preparing to continue walking inside, when he heard Li Zhi's voice behind him.
"No wonder it's haunted, there are really two little ghosts here."
Xie Tingzhou paused when he heard that, then turned around and looked at her, "Little ghost? Where is he?"
Li Zhi stretched out his hand in front of the father and son and snapped his fingers at them. "Now you can see it. It's in the coffin."
Xie Tingzhou shifted his gaze from her fingers and looked into the coffin. Sure enough, there were two little children, a boy and a girl, curled up in the corner.
It was the little devil that Li Zhi had mentioned.
The two children's faces were pale without a trace of blood, and their exposed arms and legs were covered with wounds and bruises of varying sizes.
Perhaps because he saw people of the same age as him, Li Yanjing subconsciously asked, "Why are you here?"
Hearing this, the two of them looked up at him without saying a word.
Xie Tingzhou noticed their timid eyes and asked, "What are they afraid of?"
Li Zhi coughed lightly, raised his hand to touch the tip of his nose, and explained, "They both tried to get on top of you just now, but I taught them a lesson. Then they were so scared that they retreated into their coffins."
Xie Tingzhou raised his eyebrows, "Is that so."
"Dad, I want to come down." Li Yanjing said.
"Okay." Xie Tingzhou responded, bent down and put him down.
Li Zhi looked at Li Yanjing who was approaching the coffin, but did not stop him.
She had always wanted him to interact with children of the same age, and she didn't expect that now would be the perfect opportunity.
Although these two children are ghosts, there will naturally be no problem with her protecting them.
Li Yanjing walked up to the two little ghosts and was not frightened by their appearance. "Don't be afraid. My mother is not scary and will not hurt you."
The little girl finally made a move and timidly said, "Really?"
Li Yanjing nodded, "Of course it's true."
He paused, then added, "Why are you lying on top of my dad?"
The little girl clasped her hands and replied, "When my brother and I saw your father, we thought of our own father, so we wanted to lie on his shoulders, just like we used to lie on our father's shoulders..."
She looked up at Li Zhi who was standing behind Li Yanjing and continued, "But before we could get on top, your mother pulled us down and flicked my brother and me on the head..."
"So that's how it happened." Li Yanjing understood. "May I ask how you died?"
The little girl's expression suddenly darkened. She glanced at her brother who was lowering his head beside her, and said nothing.
Li Yanjing realized that he had said something wrong and apologized, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. If you don't want to talk about it, forget it."
"We are abandoned children who are unwanted by everyone." The little boy who had been silent all this time suddenly raised his head and spoke.
Li Yanjing was slightly stunned when he heard this, then came back to his senses and looked at him, "But didn't your sister just say... Didn't you have a father..."
"That was in the past. It's gone now. That person abandoned us." The little boy said coldly.
Li Yanjing felt that he was very similar to before. If he really hated his own father, he would not have thought of lying on Xie Tingzhou's shoulder and reminiscing about the past.
He was just angry in his heart, angry about why his father abandoned him.
Li Yanjing pursed her lips and changed the subject, "What about your mother?"
"We don't have a mother. Dad said she went to a very far place and will never come back..." the little girl said.
Li Yanjing didn't expect it to be like this. Looking at them, he inexplicably thought of his past self.
The little girl looked at him, then at Li Zhi and Xie Tingzhou, and said with envy, "You are so lucky to have a father and a mother."
"Your mother is so beautiful, like a fairy. I wonder if my mother is the same."
Li Yanjing didn't know what to say for a moment.
Her mother clearly didn't want her after she was born, but she didn't complain at all and even fantasized about what her mother looked like.
The little girl tilted her head and asked, "Why aren't you talking?"
"No, I'm not talking." Li Yanjing thought for a moment and then asked, "Why are you here?"
"We came back with that uncle." the little girl explained.
She patted the inside of the coffin and continued, "My brother and I were playing in it when that uncle showed up, brought the bed back here, and put this rather ugly doll inside."
"My brother and I think this place is great. A lot of people come in every day and we can play games with them, so we've been staying here forever."
"I don't know when it started, but fewer and fewer people came in. Sometimes, apart from the uncle, no one came in for the whole day."
Of course Li Yanjing knew why.
They try to play games with the tourists who come in, but in the eyes of tourists who can't see them, it looks like a haunted place.
This also led to fewer and fewer people visiting this haunted house.
"Then where were you before you followed the uncle at the door here?" Li Yanjing asked.
The little girl shook her head. "I don't know. It's messy and smelly there. There are a lot of kids like us, as well as uncles, aunts, grandparents..."
A hint of surprise flashed across Li Yanjing's eyes, and he couldn't figure out what place she was talking about.
He turned to look at Li Zhi behind him and asked for help: "Mom?"
Li Zhi had already calculated the cause of death of the two siblings without making a sound, and naturally she also figured out the place she mentioned.
But I still have to go out and ask the boss for directions to that place.
