Chapter 207: Overly Cautious
Huo Lin put down the teacup slowly, "Oh, is that so? That's a pity."
Xie Wang listened to the conversation between the two and couldn't help but become interested. Could it be that his sister-in-law was really good at fortune-telling?
He thought for a moment and said, "Sister-in-law, how about you calculate it for me?"
Li Zhi turned to look at him and nodded slightly, "Okay, what do you want to calculate?"
Xie Wang touched his chin and thought for two seconds, "Sister-in-law, is there anything that can be verified immediately after forgetting it?"
"Yes, it's something that happened to you in the past." Li Zhi said.
Xie Wang sat up straight, "Really, sister-in-law? Then quickly calculate it for me."
"Sure." Li Zhi stared at him for a few seconds, her deep eyes dark and clear. She slowly spoke, "When you were six years old, you accidentally fell into the water and nearly drowned. It was your brother who found you and saved you in that critical moment."
"You also fell seriously ill because of this, and it took almost a month to recover."
Li Zhi paused and continued, "It was that fall into the water that left a psychological scar on you. You never dared to go near water like a pond again."
Xie Wang was slightly stunned when he heard this, then he reacted and widened his eyes involuntarily, his brows full of disbelief. He didn't expect that what she said was exactly right.
He was just about to wonder if his brother had told her about this when Xie Tingzhou's voice came to his ears:
"Don't doubt it, I haven't told her about you."
"Zhizhi, you're amazing! What you said is absolutely right." Huo Shu still felt a lingering fear when he thought about it. He patted his chest and said, "We were really scared at the time. Fortunately, Tingzhou noticed Xiaowang was missing and went looking for him immediately."
Xie Wang looked at Li Zhi in disbelief and said, "Sister-in-law, do you want to take a look at the other things that happened to me?"
"Okay, sure." Li Zhi naturally met his request. "So far, you've only had one relationship, back when you were in high school. But it only lasted less than two months because the other person fell in love with someone else and broke up with you."
"What? There is such a thing? I didn't even know about it." Huo Shu said in surprise.
Xie Wang didn't expect Li Zhi to tell him about her love history. Now he had to believe that she really could tell fortunes.
Because he never told his family about this.
Huo Shu suddenly realized something was wrong and said in surprise, "Oh, no, you've only had one relationship. Mom thought you had countless girlfriends in the past few years abroad. I didn't expect you to still be such a pure and innocent boy."
"Mom, what are you talking about? What do you mean by dating countless girlfriends? I didn't expect that you actually think of me like this." Xie Wang curled his lips, "Do I look like someone who just falls in love casually?"
"It's your fault that you always look so sloppy and dress so flashy that you look so unserious." Huo Shu complained.
Xie Wang: “…”
"Then according to Zhizhi, you haven't been in a relationship since that high school relationship ended. Could it be that you were heartbroken by that girl?" Huo Shu said again.
Xie Wang shrugged nonchalantly, "Not really, I just haven't met anyone I like."
Huo Shu nodded, "Okay."
Just as she was about to look away, she caught a glimpse of Huo Lin sitting across from her. Suddenly, she thought of something, her eyes lit up, and she quickly turned to look at Li Zhi and said, "Zhizhi, can you help Tingzhou's uncle calculate when he can get married?"
Huo Lin paused as he heard this, twisting his Buddhist beads in his hand. "Xiaozhi, don't calculate for me. I don't like to predict what will happen in the future."
Huo Shu waved his hand, "Oh, it's okay, just don't listen if you don't want to know."
"Sister, you really don't have to calculate it for me." Huo Lin said helplessly.
Huo Shu ignored him and said, "Zhizhi, just tell me about this quietly. That way I'll know what's going on and won't push him anymore."
Li Zhi raised her eyelids and glanced at Huo Lin, then raised her hand to touch the tip of her nose. For a moment, she didn't know who to listen to, after all, she didn't want to offend either side.
Xie Tingzhou naturally saw her embarrassment and said at the right time: "Okay, Mom, if uncle doesn't want to count it, don't force it. Things like this should just be left to nature."
"Yes, Ting Zhou is right, sister, don't worry about it." Huo Lin echoed.
Seeing that they all said so, Huo Shu didn't dwell on it, "Oh, fine, I don't care."
Xie Tingzhou stood up from the sofa. "You guys chat first. This is Zhizhi's first time here, so I'll show her around."
"Yeah, I was so busy chatting that I didn't show Zhizhi around." Huo Shu nodded. "Tingzhou, take Zhizhi for a good look around."
Xie Tingzhou hummed, walked over, his eyes fell on his son, and said, "Yanjing, you stay here with grandpa and grandma."
Li Yanjing nodded obediently, "Okay, I understand, Dad."
Xie Tingzhou extended his hand to Li Zhi, "Let's go."
"Yeah." Li Zhi stood up, held his hand, walked around the sofa, and left.
......
After coming out of the living room, Xie Tingzhou took Li Zhi through the winding corridor and walked towards the garden pond behind the house.
Li Zhi sighed softly, turned to look at the man beside her, scratched his palm, and said, "It's a good thing you helped me out just now, otherwise I really wouldn't know whether to listen to your mother or your uncle."
Xie Tingzhou held her restless hand tightly and said, "My mother is just too worried about my uncle's affairs."
Li Zhi suddenly thought of something and said, "Oh, you don't know, when I heard your servant announce that Mr. Huo had arrived, I thought it was the Mr. Huo I was tracking down."
"It just so happens that we have the same surname." Xie Tingzhou said.
"Yeah, it really was a coincidence." Li Zhi nodded. "But just in case, I still made a special effort to observe your uncle. Fortunately, he is just an ordinary person."
Xie Tingzhou chuckled, "Master Li, you are really too cautious. How could my uncle be that person?"
Li Zhi's pretty eyebrows raised slightly. "I can't help it. It's mainly a subconscious reaction, like an occupational disease."
"Then what else did you see about my uncle?" Xie Tingzhou asked casually.
"It's nothing. I just looked at his body to see if there were any signs of cultivation. Nothing else." Li Zhi replied.
"Normally I wouldn't casually calculate other people's destiny, unless it's like your brother just did, asking me to calculate something that happened to him, or if it's someone in the live broadcast room who asks me to tell their fortune, then I will do it."
Xie Tingzhou understood, "So that's how it is."
"Yeah," Li Zhi replied, "After all, I don't have the time to calculate a person's past and future every time I see him."
