Chapter 241: Run!
Xiong Jian was the first to react. He grabbed him, grabbed his arm, and ran away. "Damn it! Run! What are you still standing there for?"
Wei Chi subconsciously followed Xiong Jian's conditioned reflex.
When he came to his senses, his heart was beating wildly. Thinking back to the scene just now, his hair felt numb.
Wei Chi didn't dare to look back, but just kept running forward following Xiong Jian.
As they were running, they saw a building in front of them. It looked like a dormitory building. They looked at each other and rushed in without stopping.
The moment he stepped into the building, Wei Chi bravely turned his head and looked behind him. He did not see the headless female ghost, and couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
At this moment, a voice suddenly rang in my ears: "Hey, which class are you from?"
Wei Chi stopped and looked in the direction of the sound, and saw a middle-aged man walking out of the dormitory next to the stairs opposite the door.
"Yes...we...are from Class 1, Grade 3." Wei Chi's tense body relaxed, his hands resting on his knees. He asked breathlessly, "Are you...the dormitory manager?"
The dorm manager nodded. "Yes, it's so late and you're just returning to the dormitory. If you're even a minute later, I'll be closing the door. You should hurry back to the dormitory and get some rest. The lights will be turned off soon."
"Okay." Wei Chi was about to lift his foot to walk towards the stairs when he suddenly remembered something. His eyes fell on the dormitory manager again and he raised his hand to fan his face. "By the way...Uncle Dormitory Manager...Did you know that there are ghosts in our school...We just saw a headless female ghost killing people with a kitchen knife..."
"What ghosts?" The dormitory manager looked a little impatient and waved his hand to send them away. "I've been in this school for several years. I'm tired of hearing the ghost stories you kids made up. Go back to the dormitory and sleep."
Wei Chi: "..."
Xiong Jian panted and pulled Wei Chi's arm, "Okay, let's go."
Wei Chi hummed, looked away, and followed him upstairs.
The two of them came to the top floor, the fifth floor, randomly picked a dormitory and walked in, then closed the door and turned on the light inside.
The dormitory was quite shabby, with a bunk bed layout, a total of six beds, and a tattered long wooden table in the middle.
There was a musty smell in the air.
Wei Chi didn't care about that. He walked to one of the beds, stopped, turned around and sat down, shaking his hand, "I just turned around and looked. The female ghost didn't follow us. She should be fine."
He paused and continued, "Is this dream so scary? This ghost is even scarier than the horror movies I've seen!"
Xiong Jian raised his hand to wipe the sweat from his forehead and said slowly: "I even doubt whether we are really in a dream?"
As soon as these words came out, Wei Chi's back tightened, and he suddenly felt a sense of dread. "This, where else could we be if not in a dream?"
Xiong Jian sat down on the bed opposite him, hands on his hips. "Think about it, could that monk really be so powerful that he could have put all of us into a dream?"
Wei Chi frowned, "But we've all bought dreams from him before. We've all been in our dreams when everything went black before our eyes, and when we opened our eyes again, the scene was this school."
"You said it yourself. When your eyes go black, and you open them again, who knows how long that process took?" Xiong Jian analyzed. "Could it be that we've actually woken up in reality, but still think we're dreaming?"
Wei Chi shook his head, disagreeing with what he said. "But that's not right. If this is really the case, then you also said, where did this monk get such great ability to bring all of us here?"
"And what is his purpose in bringing us to this school?"
"Besides, I was with my friends. If I was taken away, wouldn't they know how to stop me?"
Xiong Jian nodded slowly, realizing that he might have been overthinking it. "Yeah, there are no ghosts in reality. We are still in a dream."
Wei Chi raised his index finger and shook it, "No, no, no, you don't know that ghosts really do exist in this reality."
Xiong Jian's eyes flashed with surprise when he heard this, "There really are ghosts. Have you seen them?"
"I have never seen it with my own eyes, but I have a good friend whose sister is a master of metaphysics. She tells fortunes live online. After watching her live broadcast, I realized that ghosts really do exist in this world," Wei Chi explained.
"Master of Metaphysics?" Xiong Jian raised his eyebrows. "I'm just trying to fool you kids."
"Oh, Brother Xiong, when you wake up from this dream, go to Yinfo and search for someone called Master Li. You'll know after watching her live broadcast for two days." Wei Chi said.
Xiong Jian responded casually, retracted his gaze, put his hands behind his head, raised his legs and lay down directly on the bed.
Wei Chi followed him and lay down on the bed, saying, "Look, we can buy the dream we want, and this monk can even put so many of us in the same dream. Isn't this fantastic? It also proves that ghosts are not surprising in this world."
"Yeah." Xiong Jian yawned and closed his eyes. "Okay, let's go to sleep. I guess when I open my eyes again, I'll wake up from the dream to reality."
Wei Chi turned back and said, "Okay, go to sleep."
Noticing the light on above his head, he was about to sit up and get out of bed to turn off the light, but the next second he saw the light go out automatically.
Seeing this, Wei Chi paused for a moment, then closed his eyes and began to sleep.
Within two minutes, the sound of several people chatting suddenly came from far away in the corridor outside.
The dormitory they slept in was next to the public toilet, and it looked like the people outside were going to the toilet together.
Wei Chi was sleeping on the hard bed, feeling uncomfortable no matter what. He was about to find a more comfortable sleeping position, but as soon as he turned over, he heard shrill screams and fleeing footsteps coming from outside.
Wei Chi was stunned for a moment, then reacted and sat up from the bed with a somersault. He turned to look at Xiong Jian who had also sat up on the bed opposite him and whispered, "Damn, what's going on? Could it be that the headless female ghost has come here again?"
Xiong Jian shook his head and said cautiously, "I don't know. Let's stay here and don't go out."
At this time, the screams in the corridor outside continued.
Wei Chi couldn't suppress his curiosity. After thinking for two seconds, he got off the bed, moved a stool to the door, and then stood on it.
When he looked out at the corridor through the small window on the door, the screaming had disappeared, and he saw what seemed to be a tall black figure in the dark corridor, dragging something slowly towards the other end.
He didn't know if it was his illusion, but he seemed to smell a faint smell of blood.
