Chapter 30: Destined

Chapter 30: Destined

Gu Yanran didn't expect Gu Yu to be here. After coming to her senses, she lifted the two insulated lunch boxes in her hands and said, "I'm here to deliver the food."

She paused for a moment and then said, "Ayu, why didn't you tell me you were coming here? I thought you went straight home after school."

Gu Yu turned aside to let her in and explained, "I'll be here for a while and then I'll be back."

Gu Yanran's eyes flickered. She didn't expect that he was just saying nice things, saying that she was his only sister. But after seeing Li Zhi, his attitude was completely opposite to what he showed on the phone.

As soon as school was over, he ran over here eagerly without even saying a word to me.

After more than ten years of relationship between him and me, is it possible that it cannot compare to this blood-related sister who was just found two days ago?

"Well, let's go home together later."

Gu Yu nodded, "Okay."

Jiang Ruyun looked at Gu Yanran who came in, glanced at the lunch box in her hand, and stood up from the sofa, "Yanran, you kid, you can just ask the servants to bring it to us, why did you come here in person to bring us food?"

Gu Yanran smiled and said, "I'm fine at home alone anyway, so I might as well come and see my sister."

"Have you eaten?" Jiang Ruyun asked with concern.

Gu Yanran shook her head. "No, I thought I'd go back and eat with Ayu after delivering the meal to you. I didn't expect him to come here too."

Gu Yu set up the dining table on the bed, turned around and looked at her, "Sister, give it to me, I'll do it."

Gu Yanran's eyes moved slightly, and her hand holding the lunch box tightened slightly, and she handed one of the lunch boxes to him.

Gu Yu reached out to take it and put it on the dining table. He opened the lid, took out the dishes and rice inside, and then handed the chopsticks to Li Zhi.

Li Zhi took it and said, "Thank you."

Gu Yanran glanced at the interaction between the two, then walked to the coffee table with another lunch box in her hand and stopped, "Mom, this is for you and Yanjing, you should eat it while it's hot."

"Okay." Jiang Ruyun walked to the sofa and sat down again.

After helping to set up the place, Gu Yanran stood up straight and said, "Mom, Ayu and I will go back first. You guys take your time to eat."

Jiang Ruyun nodded, "Okay, go back slowly and be careful."

"Okay, let's go." Gu Yanran said hello to Li Zhi again, and then took Gu Yu away.

......

After the two came out of the hospital building, Gu Yu sent a message to the driver who took him to and from school to drive back by himself, and then got into the same car as Gu Yanran.

Gu Yanran looked at Gu Yu coming up from the other side, and thought of how he had diligently helped Li Zhi arrange food in the ward. She said slowly, "Ayu, you and Sister Zhizhi should be familiar with each other by now."

Gu Yu turned to look at her, "Is everything okay?"

"What about you and Yan Jing?" Gu Yanran asked again.

"It's not bad. This kid is very eloquent. He doesn't look like a five-year-old child at all. He is like a little adult." Gu Yu said.

Gu Yanran bit her lip, "Yeah, but Yan Jing doesn't like me..."

A hint of surprise flashed in Gu Yu's eyes, "Sister, why do you say that?"

Gu Yanran sighed softly, "Because I have no blood relationship with you, I am just an outsider in his eyes. I have taken the position that originally belonged to Sister Zhizhi, so it is normal that he doesn't like me."

Gu Yu frowned, "That's not what you thought. The wrong baby was an accident. It has nothing to do with you."

"Sister, Yan Jing is still a child, you don't have to take what he says to heart."

"I know." Gu Yanran paused and continued, "What I'm afraid of is that Sister Zhizhi thinks the same way..."

"This... shouldn't be the case..." Gu Yu said.

"I hope so..." Gu Yanran didn't expect him to not fall for it. She didn't know what kind of magic potion Li Zhi had poured into him. "The main thing is, how can a child understand so much? I'm afraid that my sister is using Yan Jing's mouth to express her dissatisfaction with me..."

Gu Yu didn't want to beat around the bush. "Hey, instead of guessing here, why don't we just ask her directly tomorrow and speak openly?"

Gu Yanran's expression stiffened and she shook her head. "Forget it. I'm afraid of causing unnecessary conflict. I'm just talking to you and I don't intend to do anything."

"Ayu, it's good that you just know about this, but don't tell mom or the others."

"Okay." Gu Yu responded.

Gu Yanran smiled at him and said nothing more.

Not long after Li Zhi finished dinner, Zhou Du appeared in her ward.

"Aunt Jiang."

Jiang Ruyun nodded and said with a smile, "Come to see Zhizhi again."

Zhou Du put down the large and small high-end supplements he was carrying and said, "Yes."

Li Zhi knew that he was thanking her for the amulet, so she raised her hand and pointed to the stool beside the bed, "Sit down."

Zhou Du responded, pulled out a stool and sat down.

Jiang Ruyun's eyes swirled between him and Li Zhi, as if she had smelled something different. She pulled Li Yanjing up from the sofa and said, "Zhizhi, I'll take Yanjing out for a walk. You two can chat."

Li Zhi didn't refuse, "Okay."

After hearing the sound of the ward door opening and closing, Zhou Du raised his hand to push down his glasses and said, "Ms. Li, I came here tonight to thank you."

"Axian should have told you too. If it weren't for the amulet you gave him, I would have been in serious trouble last night."

"No, everything is destined." Li Zhi said.

Zhou Du was stunned for a moment, then realized, "Did you calculate this a long time ago?"

"Yeah." Li Zhi said ambiguously.

Zhou Du tactfully didn't ask any further questions. "By the way, Ah Xian told me that this amulet can be used three times. What will it become after the third use?"

"It will spontaneously combust into ashes." Li Zhi replied.

Zhou Du nodded, "I see."

He paused, then suddenly thought of something and asked, "Shouldn't this talisman paper be allowed to get wet?"

Li Zhi raised an eyebrow and said, "Other people's can't, but mine can. You don't have to worry about it when you go to a place with water. Just carry it with you."

Zhou Du was a little surprised. He didn't expect it to be waterproof. "Okay, I got it. I'll tell Ah Xian later."

After they chatted for a while, Zhou Du said hello to her and stood up to leave the ward.

Li Zhi looked at his back as he left, retracted her gaze, picked up her phone and sent a WeChat message to Jiang Ruyun.

Jiang Ruyun knew that Zhou Du had left, and quickly came back with Li Yanjing.

Jiang Ruyun picked up the kettle on the bedside table, poured a cup of hot water, and handed it to Li Zhi, "Zhizhi, are you and Zhou Du..."

Li Zhi reached out to take the cup, lowered his head and took a sip of water, "Hmm? What is it?"

Jiang Ruyun sat down beside the bed, "Does Zhou Du like you?"

Li Zhi almost choked on a mouthful of water and coughed lightly, "Mom, what are you thinking about?"
