Chapter 72: Searching for Gods
Three hours later.
The plane landed slowly at Xishi Airport.
Master Jiang Tianshi went to the bathroom to change into his Taoist robe, then he and Li Zhi walked out of the airport and took a taxi outside.
The taxi driver looked at the two people who got into the car one after the other and noticed how Master Jiang was dressed. Before he could even say where they were going, he asked, "Hey, Taoist priest, are you going to Longtan Mountain?"
Jiang Tianshi closed the car door and nodded, "Yes, how did you know?"
"Oh, I just heard from my other taxi colleagues." The taxi driver started the car, turned the steering wheel, and explained: "They all picked up people like you wearing Taoist robes from the airport today, and they are all going to the same place, Longtan Mountain."
He paused and continued, "I also heard them say that there are people blocking the way there. Cars can only be parked outside and cannot be driven to the foot of the mountain. Taoist Priest, is there any monster appearing in Longtan Mountain?"
Jiang Tianshi's eyes flickered slightly. He naturally couldn't tell the story of Hanba to disturb the people and create panic. He replied, "There are no monsters these days. It's just a Taoist exchange meeting held in Longtan Mountain."
"Oh, so that's how it is. We thought something big had happened." said the taxi driver.
"Come to think of it, it hasn't rained in our Xishi for nearly half a year. The ground is so dry and cracked that we are short of water now." The taxi driver continued to talk to himself.
Jiang Tianshi glanced at Li Zhi who was sitting next to him and said, "Don't worry, it will rain soon."
The taxi driver smiled and said, "Master, thank you for your good wishes."
Half an hour later, the taxi stopped some distance from the foot of the mountain.
Just as the driver had said before, the only road leading to the foot of the mountain was blocked and two people were guarding it.
After getting out of the taxi, Jiang Tianshi pushed Li Zhi to the guards and stopped. He then took out his ID from his pocket and handed it to one of them.
As for Li Zhi, although he did not have an ID, he could enter with someone who brought him along.
After verifying their identities, the other party immediately let them in.
Ten minutes later, the two finally arrived at the foot of the mountain.
Looking around, it was almost all yellow, with two or three purples mixed in. They were all Taoist priests wearing Taoist robes from all over the place.
Li Zhi was wearing casual clothes, sitting in a wheelchair, and was the only woman here, which immediately attracted everyone's attention.
Someone recognized Master Jiang Tianshi and immediately walked over to them, "Hey, Master Jiang, long time no see."
Jiang Tianshi smiled politely, "Yes, Taoist Chen, long time no see."
Taoist Chen's eyes fell on the woman sitting in the wheelchair beside him. "Master Jiang, let me tell you, occasions like today are no joke. Why did you bring someone so insignificant here? Isn't that a nuisance?"
Jiang Tianshi frowned and replied, "I invited this Master Li to help me. He has profound Taoist skills and is not an ordinary person."
Taoist Chen's eyes flashed with surprise, "You said she is also in our line of work?"
"That's right." said Master Jiang Tianshi.
Taoist Master Chen obviously didn't believe that such a woman could have such ability and profound Taoism. "Master Jiang, if you want to bring people over to see it, then bring them over. Why are you using this excuse? With her broken arms and legs, what can she do? You should really not make things worse for us."
As soon as he finished speaking, an old Taoist priest in a purple robe came over. He was the leader of this group and said in a serious voice, "Before it starts, everyone else should leave immediately to avoid any accidental injuries in the chaos."
"I'm serious. I really asked her to help. She can locate the specific location of the drought demon." said Jiang Tianshi.
As soon as he said this, the originally quiet place suddenly exploded and everyone started whispering.
"Is this true? This woman looks so young, only in her early twenties at most, and she can actually locate the location of the drought demon?"
"He doesn't look like he's joking. Maybe this woman really is exceptional at tracking."
"If we can really locate the drought demon, we can finish get off work early today."
Taoist Chen sneered, "Master Jiang, you should be careful with your jokes. There are so many Taoist priests here who have practiced Taoism for decades, but they can't locate the location of the awakened Hanba. You tell us that a little girl who knows nothing can pinpoint the specific location. Isn't that ridiculous?"
Facing the questioning gazes of the crowd, Master Jiang Tianshi felt quite stressed. He turned to look at Li Zhi beside him and whispered, "Master Li, how about you show them some of your skills?"
Li Zhi hummed, raised his eyelids lazily, and scanned the Taoist priests present. Finally, his gaze fell on Taoist Chen. His eyes were deep and flowing, and he said leisurely: "I guess Taoist Chen must be quite rich. How about we make a bet? If I can find the exact location of the drought demon, you give me 500,000. If I can't find it, I'll give you 1 million."
Taoist Chen frowned, and seeing her confident look, a hint of hesitation flashed in his eyes.
Could she really have the ability to find it?
Otherwise, why would I make this bet with myself?
But how is this possible? They have tried various methods but have not been able to locate the position of Hanba. How could she, a weak woman, possibly do it?
Li Zhi's beautiful eyebrows raised slightly, and she spoke again, "What's the matter, Master Chen? Are you afraid to gamble?"
Taoist Chen collected his thoughts. Five hundred thousand was a small matter. He wanted to see what tricks she could come up with. "Okay, I'll bet with you!"
He paused, looked at the old Taoist priest in charge, and seeing that he looked a little unhappy, he said, "Master Xuanqing, we don't need a little time now anyway, so let her give it a try. Maybe it will really work."
Taoist Xuanqing waved his hand without saying anything, but it seemed like he gave his permission.
Taoist Master Chen waved the whisk in his hand and his eyes fell on Li Zhi again, "Then let's hurry up and get started, Master Li."
Li Zhi looked up at Longtan Mountain in front of him, his eyes narrowed slightly, and he raised his hand and used his spiritual power to draw a soul-searching talisman.
The Taoist priests present looked at the golden runes floating in the air, their eyes widened involuntarily, their brows filled with shock and astonishment, obviously they did not expect her to draw the runes in this way.
Everyone came to their senses and could clearly feel the rich spiritual power fluctuating on the rune. They looked at Li Zhi as if they were looking at a monster.
"How much spiritual power does this require?"
"I think I've seen this rune in a damaged ancient book before. It's called the God-Searching Talisman. It's said to be able to find anything in heaven or on earth..."
"Who is this little girl? Is she using some kind of anti-aging technique?"
