Chapter 25: Teasing Huo Nanxiao
Xia Ningxi didn't know what Huo Nanxiao had done to Huo Yuan over the years, but the only thing she was certain of was that Huo Nanxiao had not fulfilled his responsibilities as a father.
If Huo Nanxiao truly loved Huo Yuan enough, Huo Yuan wouldn't have turned out this way.
"Huo Nanxiao, you can't be so selfish." Xia Ningxi smiled bitterly.
The man remained silent.
He saw the tears in Xia Ningxi's eyes, and his heart felt heavy and he could hardly breathe. He didn't know why he felt this way; his heart felt like it was suffocating.
Huo Yuan was still standing there, staring at them with his big, teary eyes, his gaze filled with confusion.
Huo Nanxiao didn't want Huo Yuan to know about his relationship with Xia Ningxi, so he ignored her and went to the bedside to continue coaxing Huo Yuan to sleep.
Perhaps it was the warmth of his father's embrace that gave Huo Yuan a sense of security, or perhaps it was because Xia Ningxi was also there. Huo Yuan felt that as long as the two of them were by his side, there was nothing to be afraid of. He even thought that even if a mouse appeared, his father and Dr. Xia would not let the mouse bite him. The little bundle quickly fell asleep in Huo Nanxiao's arms.
After Huo Yuan fell asleep, he carefully placed the child on the hospital bed.
His deep, gentle gaze turned icy as he left Huo Yuan and coldly walked towards Xia Ningxi step by step.

“I can give you anything except a title,” Huo Nanxiao said.

Xia Ningxi pushed Huo Nanxiao away: "I'm a very greedy person. I just don't want anyone to take my place. I said, you can only choose one: Huo Yuan or Xia Wanwan. If you choose Huo Yuan, I will stay and guide him properly, and he will get better treatment. But I will be his mother. But if you choose Xia Wanwan, then..."
"So what?" Huo Nanxiao's voice was sharp.
Xia Ningxi smiled bitterly to herself: Then I'll take Huo Yuan and disappear from your world completely, so you'll never find him again...
But she didn't say it out loud. She thought Huo Nanxiao wouldn't care. The only thing he might care about was that the pawn that could help Xia Wanwan rise to power was gone.

Xia Ningxi was furious and rushed towards the door for help. But before she could even utter a sound, her lips were sealed by the man's.
