Chapter 676 Find a Husband to Make Up for It
"Go out." Xia Ningxi didn't want to talk about Huo Nanxiao in front of Tang En.
The two went up to the rooftop together. There was no one around, and it was very empty, with only the howling wind.
Xia Ningxi pulled her coat tighter around herself. She had just come out of the operating room and was still very tired. The cold wind made her head feel even more foggy. Feeling unwell, she found a stone step to sit down.
"If I'm not mistaken, you're here about the divorce, right?" Xia Ningxi asked.
Huo Nanxiao did not deny it; "It's about this matter."
“What I promised you before still stands. As long as you give up custody of the three children, I will not take any of your property, and everything in your name will still be yours,” Xia Ningxi said.
Huo Nanxiao replied, "I didn't come to you for this matter."
“What is that? You’re busy cooperating with wealthy businessmen from Lingcheng, so you need to ensure the stability of your assets. If I were to divorce you now and take a large sum of your property, they probably wouldn’t be willing to cooperate with you. It’s most beneficial for you if I don’t take anything. I won’t go back on my promise to you. As long as you give me custody of the child, all the property will be yours,” Xia Ningxi said.
It's not that she doesn't understand marriage. She and Huo Nanxiao have been married for six years. Although she can't take away what Huo Nanxiao already had, she has the right to half of the company's dividends over these six years, as well as some of the increased value and the shares Huo Xiuyuan gave them as a wedding gift.
If Xia Ningxi wanted to, she could easily cut off a piece of Huo Nanxiao's flesh.
But she was afraid that Huo Nanxiao would use this to blackmail her, so she simply gave up all the couple's property in exchange for custody of her three children.
With her abilities, she could easily support three children. She might not be as wealthy as Huo Nanxiao, but the children's lives wouldn't be much worse.
Huo Nanxiao: "I can give you the money, and I can give you the shares. Everything that belongs to you will be yours, but..."
"I don't want to hear your words, but don't even think that I'll stay here with the child." Xia Ningxi retorted bluntly, cutting off Huo Nanxiao's words.
The man looked at her with deep, serious eyes; "Are you really willing to let your child lose its father?"
"Otherwise what? Should I find them a replacement now?" Xia Ningxi retorted.
Huo Nanxiao's face darkened: "Interesting?"
"You know it's pointless. I'm setting you free and giving up our marital property for the sake of child custody. If you insist on me staying, fine, but I want 50% of Yunting Group's shares, I want you to publicly acknowledge our marriage, and I want Xia Wanwan to leave Qinyuan and return to her own home."
Xia Ningxi stared at Huo Nanxiao's handsome face, watching his striking features gradually lose their color, and knew that Huo Nanxiao couldn't accept it. She found it utterly ridiculous, "Young Master Huo, since you can't even do these things, why do you expect me to do this and that?"
Huo Nanxiao stared at her fair face, looking at the dissatisfaction and anger in her eyes, and remained silent, swallowing his words.
“We’ll go to the Civil Affairs Bureau on Monday,” he said.
Xia Ningxi's heart skipped a beat. She concealed the sadness in her eyes and said only one word: "Okay."
This marriage started with deception and should have ended long ago.
She doesn't have to be bound by a man who doesn't love her, and Huo Nanxiao shouldn't be dragged down by her either. He can finally marry his beloved Xia Wanwan, right?
If I had known it would be like this, I wouldn't have wasted my youth going through this.
Xia Ningxi suppressed the bitterness in her heart. It was just that she had loved the wrong man, and it wasn't a big deal.
She still has a job she can be proud of, and lovely, well-behaved children. She is not without anything; she has only lost a man who doesn't love her.
She had nothing to be sad about.
The wind was strong, making her very uncomfortable. Her heart was pounding, probably from the cold, which was throbbing painfully. She tightened her coat, curling up inside her already small jacket, feeling that the remaining warmth inside was a luxury. She didn't want to stay on the rooftop any longer.
"I'm going back now," she said.
“Together,” Huo Nanxiao replied.
Xia Ningxi walked ahead of him, her steps heavy. As she approached the stairwell, she vaguely saw a figure on the opposite wall. Xia Ningxi stopped and looked closely. It was a short-haired man in a hospital gown sitting on the protective wall of the rooftop.
What does he want to do?
Xia Ningxi was startled and immediately walked towards the person.
"Where to?" Huo Nanxiao asked, grasping Xia Ningxi's hand.
Xia Ningxi said, "There's someone over there, a patient from our hospital. He seems to be suicidal."
Huo Nanxiao looked in the direction Xia Ningxi was pointing and indeed saw a young man sitting on the wall. His back was very thin, and he seemed dazed and in bad shape.
He quickly called Ye Su downstairs and said, "There's someone attempting suicide on the rooftop at a 40-degree southeast direction. Call the rescue team immediately."
"Yes, President." Ye Su didn't dare to hesitate. While calling the police, she followed the direction Huo Nanxiao had indicated and found someone sitting on the rooftop, looking dazed and about to fall at any moment.
She hurriedly advised, "Young man, move over a bit, don't fall and hit me."
"Oh, sorry, I'll jump somewhere else then." The young man was quite polite.
Ye Su's mind went blank. She was stunned for a while and before she could react, the young man had already moved several meters to the left.
She quickly made a call for help.
"Don't make the call. I want to be alone. I don't want to be disturbed," the man shouted at Ye Su.
With that shout, everyone downstairs noticed that there was someone standing on the rooftop.
Soon, a group of people crowded around, pointing and whispering.
"What is he doing? Why is he sitting up there?"
"Are you feeling down?"
"Young man, what happened to you? Don't sit in such a dangerous place, get down quickly."
"You're so young, why are you trying to jump off a building like other non-mainstream people? Go back home and don't worry your parents."
It's unclear who started it, but the man on the rooftop lost control of his emotions. He stood up agitatedly, nearly falling off the building, but he didn't care at all. He yelled at the man below, "What do you know? You don't know anything, so why are you talking to me like that!"
The person downstairs who was trying to persuade him got angry and became even more agitated: "Did I say something wrong? You're already at the hospital, so just focus on getting better. Don't do things that harm others and yourself. What if you fall from up there and injure someone? Can you afford to pay for it?"
"Did I hit you? I have plenty of money, what are you yelling about?" The man roared angrily downstairs, and then, for some unknown reason, he jumped off the building!
but!
Someone caught him!
