She asked Xingxing for her opinion and tried to take the three children back to the Ling family to take care of them, but they refused. Ling Shuang had no choice but to leave on her own.
When Xia Jingcheng returned, he brought a lot of food, all of which was very light. The three little ones were starving, but they didn't have much of an appetite. Their minds were all on Xia Ningxi, and they only ate a little bit.
There were benches in the corridor, and they slept on them.

Chu Chu hesitated: "But I want to stay with Mommy."
"The hotel is right across the street. I'll bring you over first thing tomorrow morning," Huo Nanxiao assured him, and then picked Huo Yuan up as well.
Huo Yuan was stunned. He struggled with his legs, but Huo Nanxiao glared at him fiercely, and the little guy immediately stopped moving in fright.
Huo Nanxiao picked up both children, treating them no differently than hostages.
Huo Nanxiao's gaze lingered on Xingxing, and he said, word by word, "Do you want to come along? You can rest assured that they'll be in my hands?"
"I'm worried." Xingxing shook his head, afraid that Huo Nanxiao would steal his brother and sister away and hide them.
