Chapter 33 You Dare to Like Her
Xia Ningxi didn't know where Huo Nanxiao got such confidence. What did he have that made her like him? And this "playing hard to get" act? What a joke!
She tried to calm herself down and said, "Let go."
"You haven't answered my question yet." Huo Nanxiao didn't have a friendly attitude towards the woman sitting on his lap.
Xia Ningxi said, "Yes, I am seducing you, so you'd better not be fooled by me."
The man chuckled, it was unclear whether he was mocking Xia Ningxi or something else.
"A woman like you isn't good enough." That was Huo Nanxiao's assessment of her.
Xia Ningxi gritted her teeth: "Likewise, a man like you with such poor skills, I would never seduce you, no matter who else I seduce."
Huo Nanxiao was taken aback. He hadn't expected Xia Ningxi to make such a lewd joke at a time like this. He grabbed Xia Ningxi's cheek with his large hand and said, "You'd better not play with fire."

My body temperature rose uncontrollably, and soon my whole body was burning hot.
Her face flushed red, and she quickly climbed off Huo Nanxiao's lap. Her heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was going to burst out of her chest. No one knew how nervous Xia Ningxi was at that moment.
She sat down on the sofa, panting, wiped the sweat from her forehead, and said, "I'm going to rest next door. Remember to call me if you need anything."
With such a cold tone, Xia Ningxi practically ran away.
The moment the door closed, the lights in the room came on, and Huo Nanxiao could vaguely see Xia Ningxi with her back pressed against the door, looking very nervous.
Huo Nanxiao's feelings were complicated.

When I woke up in the morning, Huo Nanxiao was gone.
There were two breakfasts on the table, which should have been prepared by Huo Nanxiao.
Xia Ningxi had an indescribable feeling in her heart. This was the first time Huo Nanxiao had prepared something for her. Before, he only had eyes for Xia Wanwan.
Xia Ningxi opened the food box; it contained seven dishes and a soup, a very generous spread, and it smelled delicious.
Huo Yuan, lying on the hospital bed, was probably attracted by the aroma. The little guy opened his eyes and looked at Xia Ningxi with longing eyes, like a little gluttonous cat, waiting to be fed.
Xia Ningxi was delighted by his well-behaved appearance and asked with a smile, "Are you hungry?"
The little guy nodded.
Xia Ningxi said, "Come here, I want to ask you if you want to eat."
The little guy immediately moved closer to Xia Ningxi. A bite of sweet and savory pork ribs melted in his mouth. The taste was exceptionally good, just right for a young prince like Huo Yuan whose digestion wasn't very good.
"Delicious!" Huo Yuan was very happy.
Xia Ningxi smiled sweetly: "One more bite."
"Yes, Dr. Xia, you are the best person I have ever met." Huo Yuan praised her generously.
Xia Ningxi asked, "Aren't the other people nice to you?"
"Daddy is very good to me, but I don't know why my aunt has always disliked me. Although she often cooks delicious food for me, I know that she is only nice to me because of my mommy." Huo Yuan said sadly at the end.
Xia Ningxi gently patted his obedient little head and said, "It's okay if she doesn't like you, as long as I like you."
"Yes! Thank you, Dr. Xia. I like you too," Huo Yuan confessed.
Xia Ningxi said, "After you finish eating, you have to go for a physical examination and get a shot. You're not allowed to cry."
"I won't cry. A real man doesn't cry." Huo Yuan nodded in agreement.
His obedient appearance melted Xia Ningxi's heart.
After breakfast, Xia Ningxi took Huo Yuan to get a checkup.
Yang Yuean could tell from her pale face that Xia Ningxi must not have slept well, and said, "Why do you have such dark circles under your eyes? Didn't you sleep well last night?"
"Mm." Xia Ningxi nodded.
Yang Yuean said, "I'll take Young Master Huo for a check-up. You should go back to your department and rest."
"No, I want to stay with Huo Yuan." Xia Ningxi refused.
Huo Yuan said, "Dr. Xia, you should go and rest. I'll go for the check-up with Dr. Yang. I'm fine."
Xia Ningxi reluctantly handed Huo Yuan over to Yang Yuean, then returned to her clinic and fell asleep immediately, ignoring her phone ringing for a long time.
Xia Xingxing stood at the hospital entrance, dialing Xia Ningxi's number repeatedly, but no one answered. He got angry.
Mommy never goes this long without answering his calls before. Did she go to take care of that crybaby?
Humph, you're always stealing my mommy's attention, I'm angry.
Xia Xingxing stormed into the hospital and headed straight for Huo Yuan's ward. He wanted to ask Huo Yuan why he wouldn't let his mother answer his calls, but when Xia Xingxing climbed through the window into the VIP ward, he found it empty and deserted, with no one there, including Huo Yuan.

"Huo Yuan, get up." Xia Luoluo stood beside the hospital bed, her voice stern.

But Xia Xingxing forgot that hiding under the covers was useless; the bulge on the hospital bed clearly indicated that someone was in bed.
Xia Luoluo interpreted Xia Xingxing's silence as a deliberate provocation.
"Well, you've gotten bolder after only a few days in the hospital. You wouldn't do what I told you to do, and now you dare to play dead!" Xia Luoluo forcefully pulled back the covers.
And just like that, Xia Xingxing appeared in front of Xia Luoluo.
Xia Luoluo was stunned for a moment, staring blankly at Xia Xingxing for a few seconds. She didn't know if she didn't care about Huo Yuan at all, or if she had never taken Huo Yuan's injury seriously. Xia Luoluo only thought that Huo Yuan had already had his cast removed, so he looked clean. After a few seconds of surprise, she regained her senses.
She questioned, "Why didn't you do what I told you yesterday? Why did you let that woman Xia Ningxi spend the night with your father again?"
Xia Xingxing was furious when she heard this. How dare this stinky woman come to question me? She spoke ill of my mother in public yesterday, and I didn't even argue with her. How dare she!
Xia Xingxing raised her chin: "Why should I listen to you? I don't want you to take care of me at all. Dr. Xia is the best doctor in the world. She is my favorite person."
Xia Luoluo's eyes widened in disbelief: "You dare to like her? Do you want to be locked in a dark room?!"
